(Dawson Creek, BC) Large corporations around the world are budgeting millions to get on the Internet but unlike in the movies, where “if you build it they will come” the web requires that you tell them where you are and how to get there first. One web marketing company, based in a small town in northern British Columbia, is helping companies of all sizes get their sites noticed on the web.
The WebMasters Search Engine Submission Service, a Dawson Creek, BC based web site is reaching over 1.5 million people and this amount is growing by 160% a month. Started almost 3 years ago in their basement, Rick Noble and Rick Panoulias built a hobby site aimed at increasing visibility for web sites. “We recognized how important it was that web sites get noticed,” commented Rick. “We started with a few hundred and that quickly grew to thousands of submissions a month.”
You might think that companies using this type of service would go to Silicon Valley to find the right people to get their sites submitted to the search engines, but more and more of them are finding The WebMasters and getting results they can take to the bank. So many in fact that they have increased their sales by at least a 1000% in the last 14 months. And it’s not slowing down.
Founders Rick Noble and Rick Panoulias ( brother-in-laws ) both come from engineering backgrounds. Rick Noble was working as a gas fitter during the day and absorbing anything Internet related at night. He soon realized that the Internet was going to be his life. He now works for a large Internet service provider and is now a well respected member of their IT team. Rick Panoulias works in the telecommunications field and shares his brother-in-laws enthusiasm about where the net is going. “I really would never have guessed we would have clients from the US, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Middle East using our service,” commented Panoulias. “We do about 65% of our business south of the border and are always amazed at the success our clients have achieved”.
The success of The Webmasters Search Engine Submission Service just goes to show the little guy can start up a business in a remote corner of the globe and compete globally. And who knows where they might end up? “We are getting calls daily from companies wanting to partner with us. Maybe its time we started another business in our basement,” joked the webmasters. We say go for it!
