Organised and run by the Centre for Creative Practices, the Creative Entrepreneur Boot Camp programme is geared towards creatives at all stages of their careers who want a unique opportunity for individualised focus on the professional and business side of their practice, and who are interested in sustainability and economic growth. We especially recommend this programme to creatives who run their own business, plan to set up one or are torn between freelancing and working for an employer. Our Creative Entrepreneur Boot Camp provides a dynamic and productive learning environment. We blend experience based learning, individualised training and group interaction. We help to add value to your creative endeavours via productive questioning and feedback. Every Bootcamp is a brilliant networking opportunity that extends your personal and professional network. Participating creatives can expect the Boot Camp to spark goals and help to define concrete steps to build a practical business development strategy aimed at greater financial security, smarter processes, and satisfaction. From the last Bootcamp we ran in 2013 the comments that came back said the experience was life changing. Since then we have developed and deepened our knowledge and practice we feel that it’s time to share it again. Join us for 2016 Creative Entrepreneur Bootcamp to achieve your dreams in a smarter way. Update: We will announce the full programme next week but what we can tell you is that we have a number of well known names who are coming to Ashford over the weekend to help you in your artistic and creative career. Outline Programme What I will say is that we will push you, we will challenge you. We will put you in situations that you will are unfamimular and expect results. This will be an intense 4 days, not a walk in the park, so if you are coming expect to work! The main areas of focus will be: Defining your Business Development Plan Why, purpose, impact, drive and motivation Revenue Generation (earned, grants, other sources) Costings Marketing Storytelling Presentations and presenting Grants, funding and applications Time Management and Project Management 23 June to 26 June 23 June – 18:00 – 22.00 Evening get together. Kick-off session with people talking about their projects, ideas, fears and goals. Part of the whole 4 days will involve working on a collaborative project to highlight some of the learnings during the 4 days. Participants will be working in small groups to define a concrete path forward, the milestones and steps needed in order to bring the project to fruition. 24 June – 9am – 19:00 Full day of training looking at value propositions, why, purpose, impact, audiences, customers, relationships to customers, resources, partners, clients, and more!!!! There will be a lot of practical parts and group interaction. We will have some bits for the evening but these will be networking and engagement orientated. The idea is to give participants the time to digest and talk or to find a space to be quiet and relaxed. 25 June 9am – 19:00 Again following on from the previous day and moving forward with the business development plan. Today we look more at marketing and channels to market as well as grants, applications and revenue. Plus the part we all underestimate, costs. We will have some bits for the evening but these will be networking and engagement orientated. The idea is to give participants the time to digest and talk or to find a space to be quiet and relaxed. 26 June 9am – 19:00 Rounding it all off. One of the main aspects of today will be crafting a story and how to present that story. Hence participants will have to make at least one presentation each. One on the group project you have been working on and the other on your own story, your own business. We will help people to produce their presentations and look at ways in which presentations can use unusual props, techniques and delivery methods. We will also look at nerves and confidence in speaking to a group of people. Please note that not all of the events / sessions will take place indoors. Some of the sessions will be outside as we need to take people out of their comfort zones and into a different environment, be that forest, beach or open fields. We have a number of guest speakers / session leaders lined up whom we will confirm over the course of the next couple of weeks. These include experts in business models, online marketing and grant / project / funding applications. The maximum number of participants will be 18. See the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/501366000048531/ Notes: Just to clarify, included in the cost is all the trainings, materials, transport from / to Bus Eirean / Irish Rail. We can't unfortunately include the accommodation as some people would stay and others not but we can suggest some hotels, B&B's. Hope this helps, Ian..
