Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 17, 2012
ai3, Inc. has been selected to redefine the guest experience for new Hotel Indigo properties across the Southeast. An award-winning multi-disciplinary design studio, ai3 will design Hotel Indigo properties in Nashville, Tennessee; Sarasota, Florida; and Oxford Mississippi. By incorporating unique local cultural and historical influences into each propertys design, ai3 will create a guest experience that juxtaposes modern luxury and neighborhood intimacy.
The intimacy of hotel design is pushing boundaries. Its no longer enough to simply give a nod to a particular local design style. The challenge today is how to design an entire guest experience thats built upon local influences and neighborhood savvy, said Lucy Aiken Johnson, ASID and partner at ai3.
Hotel Oxford, By Hotel Indigo
ai3 will provide full interior design services for a new Hotel Indigo property in the historic district of downtown Oxford, Mississippi. The design of Hotel Oxford, By Hotel Indigo will be inspired by the legacy of Oxford Square and its rich culture of literature and music.
We want to create a place that immerses guests in everything that makes Oxford so unique. ai3s ability to weave history and culture into modern design will make Hotel Oxford unlike any other in the region, said Luke Chamblee, president, Chamblee Hospitality Group.
ai3s designs are no stranger to Oxford, thanks to the studios collaborations with Chef John Currence of City Grocery and Boure. Hotel Oxford, By Hotel Indigo is scheduled to open in April 2014.
Hotel Indigo Downtown Nashville
When it re-opens at the beginning of 2013, Hotel Indigo Downtown Nashville will be substantially renovated, including an additional 33 rooms. Bob Winston, president of Winston Hospitality, chose ai3 to do much more than renovate and expand the Hotel Indigo in Downtown Nashvilles Printers Alley. The studio has been tasked with creating a design that tells a lesser-known story about Nashvilles history. The new design draws inspiration from the evolution of Printers Alley from the actual printing process to the areas prominence in the 1800s as a speakeasy.
Had country music not come to Nashville, the city would have been a printing capital of the world. In the 1960s, this area was home to 36 different printers and, for a century prior, it was a speakeasy for intellects, businessmen and politicians. People dont associate Nashville with that legacy, but its a strong one that we want to articulate in the new design of Hotel Indigo Downtown Nashville, said Winston.
Hotel Indigo Sarasota
Located in one of Floridas most prominent coastal arts communities, Hotel Indigo Sarasota is undergoing an interior design renovation that will incorporate the areas cultural and artistic influences as well as additional property improvements. The comprehensive redesign will be implemented over the next 24 months.
The caliber of Sarasotas fine arts community is only matched by its incredible coastal location. ai3s ability to tell stories through design will help us articulate this across the entire guest experience, said Leslie Power, general manager, Hotel Indigo Sarasota.
