Kosmískur taktur í hverju slagi

Vijay Iyer og Wadada Leo Smith eru djasstónlistarmenn á heimsmælikvarða. Þeir léku saman í rómuðum kvartett hins síðarnefnda og spila nú saman sem dúett til að kynna plötu sína fyrir ECM Records, “A Cosmic Rhythm With Each Stroke”, sem kom út vorið 2016.

Cocktails with Uber’s Public Affairs Manager
Event on 2016-09-08 17:30:00
Javier Correoso Public Affairs Manager, Uber Technologies | Florida On a snowy Paris evening in 2008, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp had trouble hailing a cab. So they came up with a simple idea—tap a button, get a ride. What started as an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas is now changing the logistical fabric of cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, Uber uses technology to give people what they want, when they want it. Uber now has a presence in 507 cities across the globe, including Jacksonville. One of the fastest growing companies today, they’ve had many PR wins—but also some challenges. Join the Florida Public Relations Association Jacksonville Chapter at its next meeting to hear about how Uber is facing these challenges and winning legislative battles across the country, including what happened during the 2016 legislative session in Tallahassee that affects Uber in Florida. Our guest speaker is Javier Correoso, Public Affairs Manager for Uber Technologies in Florida. In this role, Javier manages Uber’s communications throughout the state, helping build Uber’s brand and profile with the media, third parties, and policy makers. Prior to joining Uber, Javier was an advisor to Senator Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign, serving as the campaign’s Spanish language spokesman and managing various voter contact programs throughout the country. Javier also founded National Capitol Strategies, a public affairs and political communications firm which managed and consulted on many successful political campaigns and initiatives across the United States and Latin America. Prior to founding National Capitol Strategies, Javier served in various roles, including Chief of Staff, in the United States Congress. Javier is a graduate of Florida International University, where he double majored in Communications and Political Science. Join FPRA Jacksonville for cocktails, networking and great insight.  Your ticket includes hors d’oeuvres and one complimentary glass of wine or beer.
