Born in 1988 in Itabaiana, Sergipe, Mestrinho is the grandson of eight bass accordion player, Manny's Carira, and son of the accordionist, Erivaldo of Carira. His sister, Thais Nogueira is a singer and her brother Erivaldinho is also accordionist. With the musical DNA so present in his life, Mestrinho at 6 years was playing accordion, and at age 12 he began performing in bands touring the region where he lived. Since childhood was influenced by the music of Dominguinhos, Sivuca, Oswaldinho accordion, Hermeto Pascoal, Pixinguinha, Jacob's Mandolin, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Elba Ramalho, among others.

At 17, Mestrinho and his sister moved from Aracaju to Sao Paulo and created the Juriti Trio. Together participated in festivals and stood by the composition of copyright music "Mais um dia sem te ver." Also in this trio, he recorded two albums called "Forro Irresistivel" and "Cara a Cara" which included the participation of emboladores Castanha e Cajú and with the production of composer John Silva, one of the largest partners of Luiz Gonzaga.

He has had the honor to share the stage with various artists like: Dominguinhos, Gilberto Gil, Hermeto Pascoal, Elba Ramalho, Rosa Passos, Antonio Barros and Cecéu, Zelia Duncan, Geraldo Azevedo, Jorge Aragon, Gabriel the Thinker, Paula Toller, Luciana Mello, Diogo Nogueira, Toni Garrido, Margareth Menezes, Elza Soares, Benito di Paula, Duani Martins, Mariana Aydar, Mariah Carey, Thiago Espirito Santo, Sandro Haick, Ney and others.

Mestrinho accompanied Dominguinhos in several concerts in Brazil, including participating in the last presentation in Exu (PE), the birthplace of Luiz Gonzaga; worked with Elba Ramalho for three years, including their participation in the CD "Vambora lá dançar" where she performed in national and international tours (Germany); With Gilberto Gil he toured in jazz festivals in Europe, Israel and Uruguay, and participated in the launch of the new Gil’s new album called "Gilbertos Samba" that also just became a DVD; He also participated in Jair Rodrigues CD "Samba mesmo Vol. 2", and in addition to recordings, Mestrinho also works as a music producer and arranger in the works of other artists.

In September 2014 launched the first solo album entitled "Opinion" that includes the participation of Gilberto Gil on the track "Superar" written by Mestrinho, besides the participation of his sister Thais Nogueira on the track "Art of the beloved" of composer Elton Moraes.

Currently his on tour with Gilberto Gil throughout North America in April 2015. Then he will stop by for a show in Austin, TX on April 29th, before returning to Brazil.
