“Today, there are several dozen different choices when looking at CAD/CAM solutions. This program will go into detail on how to best sort through the selection process. A detailed analysis process will be provided to help make the right decision for your lab. Participants will gain significant knowledge and best practices for CAD/CAM.”

“There is no question CAD/CAM is an amazing new production modality that dramatically reduces labor and increases efficiency. However, there is much more to automation than just CAD/CAM. This software review program will include many additional forms of automation that reduce error, improve access into customer usage, staffing, consumables, and equipment metrics that enable much improved efficiencies.”

Session 3 -Custom Abutment Digital Workflows (Sam Wainwright)

“This program will demonstrate a new, fully open titanium custom abutment solution. Attendees will learn how this very cost efficient, full integrated CAD/CAM solution can be integrated into most laboratories. Other topics to be discussed will include 3Shape abutment designer, SUM3D CAM and subsequent milling of site-specific custom abutments. Also discussed will be milling blanks and milling from discs. This in-depth program will give the attendee a look into the latest technology producing CLA’s in the laboratory.”

“Marketing your dental lab can be a daunting task, but it can also increase awareness of your lab’s offerings and increase your customer base. When executed well, marketing can be your lab’s secret weapon. This session will examine analog marketing tactics to increase your lab’s presence within the market. Attendees will learn the basics of developing their lab’s messaging and positioning as well as basics for developing targeted print marketing materials such as print ads, mailers, business reply cards and more.”

“Bob Cohen has been a dental technician for over 40 years. Co-Founder of Custom Automated Prosthetics (CAP), an outsource milling and digital solution provider, and founded Advanced Dental Technologies (ADT) in 1982 where he had been a consistent provider of high-quality prosthetics to the dental community. Bob has had the opportunity to speak internationally on topics such as, Functional Esthetics, Implants, Occlusion, Dental Economics, Digital Applications in Dentistry and Dental Lab and Communication. Bob has developed processes for dentistry and holds several patents. Bob has authored and coauthored several articles on many developments in the dental field.”

Rob’s Bio:

“Rob Nazzal is the CEO of Custom Automated Prosthetics (CAP), a digital solutions provider for dental laboratories. CAP works exclusively with dental laboratories to help them offer new products, save time and increase profits at the various stages of their transition into digital dental technology. Prior to CAP, Rob built the laboratory division of Brontes Technologies, which was acquired by 3M and became the Lava C.O.S., a digital impressioning system. Rob and his team developed the technologies and business processes to enable all laboratories to produce restorations digitally and traditionally from Lava C.O.S cases. Rob as a degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and has an extensive background in creating and commercializing new technologies to enable a significant improvements in several industries including supply chain, residential services, network security and the dental industry.”

Evan’s Bio:
“Evan Leek is the Marketing Director at Custom Automated Prosthetics (CAP), a digital solutions provider for dental laboratories. Through this role he applies best practices from all aspects of traditional and digital marketing to achieve key marketing goals. Prior to joining CAP, Evan was the Director of Digital Media at a high-technology public relations firm in downtown Boston, leading and developing marketing strategies for a wide array of technology companies from early-stage startups to international software companies. He believes that no two companies are alike and strives to develop unique marketing strategies specific to the products and services companies provide. Evan holds two Masters degrees in digital marketing and communications from Emerson College and has a diverse background that includes marketing and communications, digital media, game design, studio art and data analytics.”

Sam’s Bio:

“Sam attended Wentworth Institute for industrial design and has a computer and technical background. He started in the digital dentistry field at Brontes Technologies, the original developer of the Lava IOS.  There he did 3D model production of intraoral scans and managed a group of post processors. Several years later, Sam started at CAP as training and support, where he quickly became an expert in CAD CAM for the dental laboratory. Sam is now a Digital Integration Specialist, providing dental laboratories advice on how best to

integrate automation in their labs and equipment sales.”

Jeff’s Bio:

“Jeff is the Western account manager for Stratasys 3D Printing. His career in the dental industry began in 1982 after graduating from the Simi Valley School of Dental Technology. After working as a crown and bridge technician for several years, Jeff was employed by the Argen Corporation, as a Technical Sales Representative for over 10 years. There he gained extensive knowledge of metal alloys and all ceramic systems. Jeff joined Sirona in 2005, where he was instrumental in the implementation and training of CAD/CAM technology in Dental Laboratories. In addition, Jeff has lectured extensively around the country on CAD/CAM applications and the true digital workflow in dentistry today.”
