Supporting Acts: Special Guests

Kate Nash

Kate Nash is a multi-instrumental recording artist from London. With a platinum selling album and a BRIT Award tucked firmly under her belt, Kate is known across both the music and fashion industries as a forthright songwriter, unabashed feminist and front row style icon. Kate released her first single Caroline’s A Victim on vinyl back in 2007, before storming to chart success with her second hit, Foundations a few months later. To satiate demand, the launch date of her debut album Made of Bricks was brought forward by four weeks, skyrocketing straight to number one and crowning her ‘Best Female Artist’ at the 2008 BRIT Awards. In the wake of Kate’s second album My Best Friend Is You, Kate set about using her influence to shift gender perceptions and inspire a new generation of female musicians, writers, producers and technicians, launching the Rock ‘N’ Roll for Girls After School Music Club. She also worked with young self-harming women at The Wish Centre in Harrow. Kate was also recently appointed Global Ambassador of the Because I am a Girl initiative by Plan USA, charged with empowering women and girls in developing countries. Making her musical comeback in 2012 with Under-Estimate the Girl – a song written and recorded in 24 hours – Kate stepped away from the piano previously underpinning her songs, and took to the bass guitar. The track sparked controversy on a global scale and notoriously opened London Fashion Week’s Felder Felder show for the spring/summer 2013 season, marking a significant change in direction for Kate. Layering her profile with fashion, acting and writing gigs, the last three years have seen Kate star in feature films such as Syrup, Greetings from Tim Buckley and Powder Room, DJ at London and New York Fashion Week’s most exclusive events (including for Vogue and PPQ), as well as writing with Willow Smith and moonlighting as Music Editor for breakthrough London-based fashion magazine, PHOENIX. This has all built up to the highly anticipated launch of Girl Talk earlier this year, Kate’s third album. Produced with Grammy Award winning, Tom Biller at the infamous Paramour Mansion in LA, Kate has described the work as her best to date, an emotional purge and a mission statement for women the world over.

New Yorks first Carboxytherapy Center dedicated to Stretchmark and Cellulite Treatment

(PRWEB) May 31, 2013

Due to overwhelming demand it became necessary to open a dedicated center for treating stretch marks and cellulite and bring on additional personnel. Its one of the most popular treatments at Precision Aesthetics and one of the only ways to successfully treat stretchmarks and cellulite.

Carboxytherapy refers to the administration of carbon dioxide [CO2] gas beneath the skin surface for therapeutic purposes. It is a safe, in-office procedure with no downtime. Dr. Zdinak uses carboxytherapy for the treatment of dark under-eye circles, cellulite, and stretch marks, and she is the creator of the CO2TouchTM technique.

Lisa A. Zdinak, M.D., is the Chief Surgeon and Medical Director of Precision Aesthetics and English language editor of carboxyworld.com, the premier global website for carboxytherapy, http://www.carboxytherapy.com , the official website for carboxytherapy practitioners and patients in the United States.

Over 90% of the female population suffers from cellulite, and carboxytherapy offers a viable solution to this problem. Carboxytherapy has been shown to destroy subdermal fat cells (fatty deposits and dimples) without harming the surrounding skin area. In addition, Dr. Zdinak uses carboxytherapy to shrink fatty deposits on the face, abdomen, upper arms, and knees.

Dr. Zdinak is pleased to offer the most advanced technique for treating stretch marks, yielding faster and more dramatic results. Before carboxytherapy, stretch marks were primarily resistant to therapies. Carboxytherapy offers visible results by softening the stretch marks and encouraging collagen formation. This process allows the scars to contract, making them thinner so they blend more evenly with the surrounding skin.

Carboxytherapy has also been proven to dramatically reduce the appearance of dark under-eye circles, and with the invention of CO2TouchTM carboxytherapy, treating this condition has never been more simple and effective. The majority of dark under-eye circles are caused by vascular pooling [poor circulation beneath the lower eyelids], darkened pigment in the skin itself, or a hollow depression below the lower eyelids. The treatment takes only five minutes, and it is virtually painless and risk-free. A series of 4-6 treatments spaced one week apart is all that is required to achieve an optimal result, said Dr. Zdinak.

Dr Zdinak was interviewed and featured just this month in W Magazine special edition on Modern Beauty for its innovative solutions for dark under eye circles and stretch marks. In addition a very informative video explanation of Carboxytherapy or a Carboxytherapy video consult is available on Precision Aesthetic website.

CO2TouchTM carboxytherapy is the perfect addition to Dr. Zdinaks unique variety of non-invasive treatment combinations, which use the most advanced technology to achieve a more youthful appearance. Defining her highly effective approach as the Precision Aesthetics Non-Surgical Lift, she customizes individual anti-aging protocols for her clients, which include Thermage nonsurgical face and body lifting and cellulite treatment, carboxytherapy for stretch marks and dark undereye circles, SilkPeel Diamond Microdermabrasion to exfoliate the skin and to treat acne and age spots, Botox cosmetic for the correction of forehead wrinkles and frown lines, and injectable fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Artefill, Evolence, Sculptra, Prevelle, and Radiesse for lip augmentation and facial sculpting. In addition to Carboxytherapy Dr Zdinak also offers acoustic wave and Exilis for Cellulite and fat reduction.

Dr. Zdinak also offers a variety of lasers and light treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photofacials to treat the age spots and broken capillaries of sun damaged skin, laser skin resurfacing to smooth wrinkles and acne scars, and radiosurgery for scarless mole removal.

Patients travel from all over the world to see Dr. Zdinak, who services her clientele at 10 West 74th Street in Manhattan. Recognized as a go-to expert in the field of medical skin care, Dr. Zdinak frequently lectures to medical professionals and media consultants on the latest aesthetic technologies and techniques. Contact Dr. Zdinaks office at (212) 799-1411 for more information.

RetirementRoadster.com Offers Spring Cleaning Tips for Seniors

(PRWEB) May 29, 2013

Retirement Roadster.com lifestyle and finance magazine today issued their suggestions and advice for retired and senior readers to assist in the spring cleaning process this season. RetirementRoadster.com recommends letting this year be the year to tackle the garage, attic, closets, and storage spaces that are over filled with unused and dust-gathering items, and advises asking for help wherever and whenever necessary.

RetirementRoadster.com was inspired by a recent article by Bruce Watson of DailyFinance.com, published on May 24th, which gave ideas about how to clean space and save time and money in the process. To start off, RetirementRoadster.com recommends tackling one space at a time, and not starting another one until finishing the first completely. RetirementRoadster.coms Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, If the spring cleaning bug is biting you, then dive right in and get cleaning. Every now and again, you need to do a deep clean which includes being selective in what you really need to keep, and donating or trashing the rest. Start with one space and finish it, then move on to the next. Its much more overwhelming to tackle attic, garage and office simultaneouslyespecially because things tend to get messier before they get cleaner!

The lifestyle and finance magazine for seniors advises its readers to be realistic about what is still being used on a regular basis. Items like old televisions, VCRs, cassette players, and other outdated electronics can be donated if they are simply gathering dust. Other items may hold sentimental value, in which case perhaps heirs would like to inherit these things sooner rather than laterwhich further cleans out the space. RetirementRoadster.com advises considering letting things go that havent been used or even touched in a year or more. The fact is that sometimes having too many unused items can get in the way of getting to the things that are really needed and used.

When tackling the office, RetirementRoadster.com suggests clearing out old receipts, bank statements, pay stubs, and other papers from any disorganized areas like desk drawers and messy filing cabinets. Next, RetirementRoadster.com recommends creating three piles: one for Filing, one for Shredding, and one for Throwing Away. RetirementRoadster.coms Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, I know it can be hard to part with bills, tax documents, and other financial statements but the truth is that after a certain period of time, you really dont need it. Keep your tax returns forever, but toss the supporting documents after three years. Same thing with house recordsthree years, then toss. Just be sure that youre actually shredding anything with your personal information on it. Keep all the warranties for major appliances and receipts for big purchases, but get rid of outdated user manuals and utility statements. Also keep documents pertaining to health insurance, life insurance, car insurance, homeowners insurance, and any burial insurance that you may have purchased.

RetirementRoadster.com also advises being honest about when its time to ask for help. RetirementRoadster.coms Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, It can be frustrating for seniors who want to do everything themselves, but are not in perfect physical condition to do so. Dont be afraid to call for reinforcements, like family membersgrandchildren are great for putting to work, especially with the promise of an ice cream cone or a few dollars in a rewardor turning to a professional to make repairs or do deep cleaning. And remember, whatever activity youre involved in, be safe. Falls in and around the home are one of the most frequently seen problems in the ER for people over 65. Take your time, and dont rush.

Sun Damage Are UV Rays Addictive?

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) May 25, 2013

According to an article in the June 2013 issue of Vogue Magazine titled Hooked on a Feeling, nearly 30 million Americans tan indoors each year and an unknown number visit the beach to tan despite knowing the health risks. New research suggests that UV rays may have a relaxing, seductive and even addictive effect on the brains of some tanners (Go to goo.gl/hdwnz).

There is no data included in the article so I cant say that I fully support this contention from a scientific perspective, says Dr. Simon Ourian, Medical Director of Epione Beverly Hills. Its not as though people dont regularly participate in activities that they know arent good for them, especially when the potential damage is far off as it is with tanning. Still, I have to say that Im flabbergasted when I see people using tanning oils in this day and age. Im surprised these products are still available for purchase.

As reported in the article, a study done in 2011 found that UV rays have an opiate-like effect on the reward centers of the brain. In an earlier study 50% of the frequent tanners given naltrexone, a substance that blocks drug-induced euphoria, prior to tanning experienced withdrawal-like symptoms.

Whether or not tanning is addictive, says Dr. Ourian, I cant argue with the suggestions that tanners use alternate non-UV methods such as spray tans and other sunless tanning products if they want to darken their skin.

Dr. Ourian has been a pioneer in laser technology and non-invasive aesthetic procedures including Restylane, Juv
