Besttoolbars Research Reveals Browser Add-Ons Significantly Extend Audience Coverage for Ad Publishers

Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

Browser add-on development can help ad publishers to significantly expand their audience coverage according to new research by experts, Besttoolbars. A study by the browser add-on development agency found that this use of browser add-ons gave publishers 24-hours a day access to their audience and their online activities.

The tests found that online ad distribution could be extended to cover not only on websites in the publishers own network, but on virtually any other website the user visits with the simple addition of a browser add-on. In this way, browser add-ons were found to significantly help ad publishers to extend their audience by showing the ads on multiple different web resources, even those outside of the display network.

Valery Kuznetsov, Key Projects Manager at Besttoolbars said, Online ad distribution is an hugely competitive business so we were pleased to find via our study that browser add-on development has such positive impact. We were expecting to find higher levels of user engagement but were delighted that the add-on actually served to provide a much broader audience coverage for the ad publisher, giving them a lot more bang for their buck. The fact that the ads can then be displayed on virtually any website, even those not in the publishers own network, was also an incredible find and one that we are confident many publishers will be keen to explore.

Besttoolbars specializes in add-ons and extensions development for all browsers. Its Browser Add-On Framework allows for cross-browser add-ons to be built using common technologies using a single source of code to speed up the development and maintenance processes.

Brackets / PhoneGap Hackathon at Adobe MAX

Brackets / PhoneGap Hackathon at Adobe MAX
Event on 2013-05-06 13:00:00

Hang out and hack with the PhoneGap and Brackets community at Adobe MAX.

Brackets is an MIT-licensed open-source code editor for web design and development. It’s built on top of open web standards (JavaScript, HTML and CSS) so if you have the skills to use Brackets, you have the skills to contribute, extend and hack on Brackets. If hacking on the core editor isn’t your thing, Brackets has a growing extension API that makes it easy to integrate your favorite framework or web-based tool.

Apache Cordova (also known as PhoneGap) is a free and open source framework that allows you to create mobile apps using standardized web APIs for the platforms you care about. Cordova provides device APIs that allow a mobile app developer to access native device function such as the camera or accelerometer from JavaScript. Combined with a UI framework such as jQuery Mobile or Dojo Mobile or Sencha Touch, this allows a smartphone app to be developed with just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The Brackets and PhoneGap team will be on hand to answer questions and help out on your projects. Bring your laptop. There will be internet, power and plenty of table space to comfortably work.

An Adobe MAX ticket is NOT required to participate in the hackathon. Registration is not required (but it will get you an awesome t-shirt). No prior experience with Brackets or PhoneGap is required.

The Contributor Lounge is located inside the L.A. Convention Center in the concorde area to the right of the front entrance.

Hacker-Turned-Consultant to Speak on Security at Rose State in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (PRWEB) March 31, 2013

Kevin Mitnick is a largely self-taught expert in exposing the vulnerabilities of complex operating systems and telecommunications devices. His hobby as an adolescent consisted of studying methods, tactics, and strategies used to circumvent computer security, and to learn more about how computer systems and telecommunication systems work.

In building this body of knowledge, Kevin gained unauthorized access to computer systems at some of the largest corporations on the planet and penetrated some of the most resilient computer systems ever developed. He has used both technical and non-technical means to obtain the source code to various operating systems and telecommunications devices to study their vulnerabilities and their inner workings.

As the worlds most famous (former) hacker, Kevin has been the subject of countless news and magazine articles published throughout the world. He has made guest appearances on numerous television and radio programs, offering expert commentary on issues related to information security.

In addition to appearing on local network news programs, he has made appearances on 60 Minutes, The Learning Channel, Tech TVs Screen Savers, Court TV, Good Morning America, CNNs Burden of Proof, Street Sweep, and Talkback Live, National Public Radio, and as a guest star on ABCs spy drama Alias. Mitnick has served as a keynote speaker at numerous industry events, hosted a weekly talk radio show on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles, testified before the United States Senate, written for Harvard Business Review and spoken for Harvard Law School. His first best-selling book, The Art of Deception, was published in October 2002 by Wiley and Sons Publishers. His second title, The Art of Intrusion, was released in February 2005. Mr. Mitnicks autobiography, Ghost in the Wires, was released in August 2011 and is a New York Times best-seller.

This lecture, part of the Rose State Live cultural series, is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Following the presentation, there is an opportunity to purchase his book Ghost in the Wires, along with The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security.
