CIPR CI Group: Advanced Writing Skills Workshop
Event on 2014-06-25 09:30:00
This half-day workshop is for communications and business professionals keen to further develop their writing skills. With a focus on how to write effectively for different media and audiences, it is aimed at improving high level writing techniques and is suitable for anyone responsible for writing communications and content, from PR executives to managing directors.
The course is led by Caroline Black, an accredited CIPR trainer who regularly runs writing skills workshops across the UK, and will cover writing for PR, writing for business, the benefits of good written skills, types of PR and business writing, and the reasons for writing.
It will also look at the four key principles – purpose, style, content and form/structure – and will investigate the importance of effective language, research, and storytelling in different media though a series of interactive exercises.
(Participants are requested to bring along a laptop or pad together with at least three examples of their written work, one of which should be a piece they found particularly challenging or which they would like to improve on)
