Profitability Post-Jackson: Coping with Cost Cuts

How will you cope with the impending reductions in fee income and profit margins? This CPD accredited seminar will discuss the set of proposals that will purportedly rebalance a system where claims and costs are out of control, and provide advice to help you maximise your cash flow.

Personal injury practitioners are facing extremely difficult times resulting in sleepless nights for many in the profession. Once the Jackson Reforms have been implemented the litigation world will be a radically different place to the one lawyers have been accustomed to for the last decade and a half. There will be a huge impact on the business model many law firms employ, which will require the development and maintenance of considerable skills when it comes to cost and case management. Although the profession has known about the cost-capping measures for some time the fixed cost regime has made many believe that costs are simply fixed too low to sustain a practice.

This professional seminar is a great opportunity to meet other professionals in the industry, gain required CPD points, and hear from experts about the new developments and how you can overcome the problems that these changes will bring.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

Surviving Cost Cuts

  • Tactics for maximising your clients compensation
  • Making the most out of your profit costs
  • MOJ reductions & extension- where are we now?
  • Knowing the stage exit points

  • Maximising your return on investment in personal injury work
  • Identifying ‘high risk’ fee earners
  • Implementing systems to reduce the risk of negligence and underperformance
  • The importance of a case management system that is fully utilized
