Google Street View gives businesses the opportunity to create 360-degree virtual tours of their work environment. However, most businesses showcase empty environments, devoid of employees. If workers are present, their faces are blurred out as per Googles policy. 6S Marketing, a digital marketing agency, wanted to create a fun and dynamic tour of their office that truly emphasized its vibrant office culture. They hired a Google Street View Certified photographer and put on fuzzy animal mascot heads to dress up for the tour.
The result is a hilarious tour of their office space, populated by pandas, donkeys, ducks, kangaroos and sharks. Chris Breikss, President of 6S Marketing, explains, We are an agency that works hard and plays harder, and we wanted to showcase our creativity with Googles new indoor Street View product. Is it silly? Yes, a little, but it suits our quirky and dynamic culture. We want to create a fun work environment that people look forward to coming to every day. Life is too short to be boring.
6S Marketing often tests out new Google products and technology on themselves first, prior to offering it to their customers, and this is the case with their creative Street View campaign. However, there is some logic behind the madness. Googles Street View is integrated with a businesss Google Local Business listings, which ties in to Google Maps, reviews, photos and videos. Having a strong Google business listing can improve a businesss search engine ranking in Google, as well as showcase custom links and make the businesss website more appealing to potential customers. Google business listings are integrated into other essential Google products: the advertising platform, Google AdWords, and Google Analytics. (see it live)
