According to a statement issued by the group on March 14th, robotic surgery is not the only or the best minimally invasive approach for hysterectomy, or the most cost-efficient. While robotic surgery may have advances in certain complex hysterectomies, studies have shown that adding this expensive technology for routine surgical care does not improve patient outcomes, the group said.
