Event on 2013-01-17 07:45:00
More and more companies are finding themselves wanting to hire recent grads to work in the company’s information technology areas. These could include analysts, developers, networking, security, database design, business intelligence, information scientists, and customer service.
ITAG, the Innovative Technology Action Group, an Industry Partnership of the CCEDC, is hosting a to address companies’ concerns in this area. Please pass this invitation along to anyone in your firm who is involved in hiring recent college grads.
ITAG’s New Hire committee has brought together a distinguished panel for this event. Some comments that have already come to light include:
“I feel that I need to hire a master’s level grad to get the tech skills a bachelor’s student used to bring.”
“There are not enough students graduating with the right degrees to meet our hiring goals.”
“While senior capstone projects are good, most students don’t come with enough hands-on experience.”
This breakfast briefing will address these issues and more. This session is for companies and the information gather from the panel and the attending companies will be presented to colleges and schools at a future session in February 2013. Bring your own device to participate in contributing your input.
