About the Program

Cloud computing has become ubiquitous in law practice. Find out how to fulfill your duties under the Rules of Professional Conduct while working in the Cloud. This program will address:

What exactly is the cloud; 

Current ethical requirements and trends relating to digital communications; 

The basic requirements for maintaining confidentiality of communications and stored documents; and 

How to exercise “reasonable care” in selecting your service providers.


About the Speaker
Robert Cogan is Principal Attorney at Continuum Law in San Diego. In the course of his extensive experience, he has had responsibility for the worldwide patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios of public companies. This requires transmission and storage of data around the world. He is also contracts counsel for software companies and represents subcontractors delivering software to the Department of Defense. Mr. Cogan received his electrical engineering degree from the Cooper Union in New York City and his law degree from the George Washington University National Law Center.
