Applicants now have until Friday, October 11, 2013 at midnight ET to submit their innovative product or service to the program for review.
The Fierce Innovation Awards is an operator-reviewed awards program from the publishers of FierceWireless, FierceTelecom, and FierceCable. Fierce is accepting application submissions in 17 distinct categories in the following areas of innovation: Cable TV/Advanced TV & Video Networks; Wireless Networks; Wireline Networks; and Network Support, Software, Service Delivery. Winners will be selected by an exclusive panel of third-party executives from major telecom, wireless and cable operators including: Ed Chao, SVP Corporate Engineering & Network Operations, MetroPCS; Mattias Fridstrom, VP & Head of Technology, TeliaSonera International Carrier; Andrew Ip, Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Wireless Technology Management, Cablevision System Corporation; Tom Nagel, SVP and GM of Wireless, Comcast; Chris Rice, Vice President, AT&T Labs Research, AT&T; Todd C. Smith, Director, Media Relations, Cox Communications; and Jack Tang, Executive Director, Corporate Technology, Verizon.
The panel will review applicants products and services and judge their ability to meet the following criteria: technology innovation, financial impact, market validation, and end-user customer experience. Winners will be announced via a live Webcast in November and will also be featured in an Innovation Special Report.
