The Florida Hospital Tampa Lung Institute officially opens its doors today. The new Lung Institute is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for a wide range of pulmonary conditions including lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or emphysema, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, sarcoidosis and lung fibrosis. According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer takes more lives than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined each year. The Florida Hospital Tampa Lung Institute Medical Director, Dr. Dragos G. Zanchi and Co-Medical Director, Dr. Rafael Martinez, MD, FCCP lead a multi-disciplinary clinical team that offers the highest level of pulmonary care and compassion for their patients. Dr. Zanchi is Board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Internal Medicine as well as Sleep Medicine and Nutrition. Dr. Martinez is board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Internal Medicine.
