Description:LaMaMa presents The Foundry Theatre's production of

Can we practice goodness and create a world to sustain it? In this comic and complex play, this question is raised by one of Brecht's most entertaining characters — Shen Tei, the good-hearted, penniless, cross-dressing prostitute, who is forced to disguise herself as a savvy businessman named Shui Ta to master the ruthlessness necessary to be a "good person" in a brutal world.

With Taylor Mac, "one of the most exciting theater artists of our times" (TimeOut NY), in the lead and live music by "indie rock vaudevillians" (Spin magazine) César Alvarez w. the Lisps, director Lear deBessonet brings this classic theatrical clown show to life for the 21st century. The Brecht Forum proudly invites our friends to enjoy an evening of theater with us at LaMaMa in the east village. Limited tickets available for this show (Feb 5th) as well as February 22nd, which you have to register for on its own event page.
