This is a Pay-What-You-Can Nonprofit Training Double-header! That's one event and two trainings! You must attend both trainings. No admittance after the first training. Training One: Grant Writing for Beginners is an interactive and engaging session that gives you the basic tools you need to start writing grants. In this workshop, you will learn: how grants fit into a nonprofit's overall fundraising strategy; how to identify funders that may have an interest in your activities; how to assess your project fit with a prospective funder’s interests; the standard sections of a foundation proposal; and tips for increasing your chances for success. Training Two: Grant Budget Basics is an interactive and engaging session that gives you insights for planning and developing budgets for your grant requests.  In this workshop, you will learn: the budget planning process how to determine direct costs and indirect costs how to budget donated time, equipment and services; the value partnerships in grant requests and how to document partner support; and  tips for creating a realistic budget that grantmakers can easily understand and you can manage.  This workshop is PAY WHAT YOU CAN, with a seat reservation fee. Instructor Profile: Michelle Nusum-Smith, an experienced nonprofit leader, consultant, coach and trainer, is the owner and principal consultant at The Word Woman LLC, a nonprofit consulting company. She has over 15 years nonprofit experience, including program development, fundraising (including grantwriting and individual donor cultivation), marketing and public relations, board relations, and event planning. A graduate of the Honors Program at Coppin State University where she earned a BS in Management Science with a minor in marketing, Michelle is a member of the Grants Professionals Association, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Maryland Nonprofits.
