London (PRWEB UK) 23 February 2013

Equus Vita have employed Graphic Evidence’s public relations team to promote the availablity of the unique gene in the United Kingdom. Equus Vita have created the potential for huge advances in British breeding by bringing the unique pearl gene to the UK. The UK-based stud farm now has several youngsters that possess the rare gene, with one stallion available for stud services in June 2013.

The pearl gene is a coat dilution modifier, and is one of the most recent equine colour genes to be mapped for genetic testing. The gene is considered to be one of the most rare colour traits and has only been confirmed in a few breeds worldwide. Equus Vita is currently believed to be the sole breeder of the exclusive double pearl gene in the UK.

Perhaps their most well known future stallion is Pearl of Peace, the country’s first PRE Andalusian ‘gold’ colt who was born in the UK in March 2012. Known at home as ‘Oro,’ he is a genetic rarity, as he possesses two copies of the pearl gene and has a bright gold coat. He also has a single copy of the black gene, making his genetics even more interesting.

The Equus Vita youngstock come from exceptional lineage and include progeny from top sports horses. Pearl of Peace boasts promising bloodlines from his maternal grandsire Gaucho III who is widely regarded to be one of the USA’s top dressage stallions and was shortlisted for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
