“Make your marketing so useful people would pay you for it.” ~ Jay Baer Session 1 of the Growth Seminar Series explored opportunities for growth through expanded markets. Session 2 examined how an improved customer experience will positively affect customer retention. In this Session, profound changes in Marketing are surveyed. In the last 10 years, changes in technology have affected Marketing perhaps more than any other functional area. Effective Marketing will have an extraordinary impact on a firm’s ability to grow. In this session we explore the impact of new digital marketing techniques such as social media, marketing automation, content marketing, big data and analytics and finally, the impact on privacy. Join us as Dr Jim Treleaven leads interactive discussions with leading professionals from across Chicago and the EU.  Speakers: Dr Jim Treleaven – Jim Treleaven is the President and CEO of Via Strategy Group, LLC (VSG). VSG advises CEOs, Boards of Directors, and other C level executives on growth and turnaround strategies. He also advises firms and investors on mergers and acquisitions. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Graduate Business School at the University of Illinois, Chicago, Department of Information and Decision Sciences. He has published extensively in both refereed and popular journals in fields including corporate strategy, marketing, finance, human-computer interaction and computer-aided-design. He is a frequent speaker and has been featured on CNN and the Financial News Network. He serves on the Advisory Boards of three graduate Business Schools and on the Boards of several private companies. Dr Eliane Karsaklian –  Dr. Eliane Karsaklian developed the concept of Sustainable NegotiationSM. She is an internationally known speaker and award-winning researcher. She also directs the Master Program for International Negotiation at Université Sorbonne in Paris. In addition, Dr. Karsaklian is the founder of Ubi & Orbi, which helps companies create multinational partnerships and productive working relationships with their overseas employees. She has led several companies—Discovery Channel, Gucci, Sanofi-Aventis and Walt Disney World—to build relationships that created or expanded their markets. Dr. Karsaklian is author of several books, most recently Sustainable Negotiation: What Physics Can Teach Us about International Negotiation. Lynn Franklin –  Lynne Franklin is a national speaker on the neuroscience of persuasion. After a boy threatened to kill her with a machete, Franklin decided to learn everything she could about persuasion. She works with business leaders who want to use persuasive communication to increase their company’s performance, productivity and profits.As principal of Lynne Franklin Wordsmith since 1993, she has consulted with CEOs and CFOs and presented before BMO Harris; Essendant, Inc.; Northwestern Mutual; UnitedHealthcare; US Foods, Inc., among others. She is author of Getting Others to Do What You Want. John Zurawski – John Zurawski was most recently the VP of marketing at Authentify. He has extensive experience not only in marketing but is a recognized expert in data privacy and security. He has demonstrated ability to bring in deals that generate seven figures where the customer is the "first" and has 20 years of experience in software, Internet and information security services. John is a specialist in complex sales, building multi-tier sales organizations requiring funnel filling/pipeline building tier, evangelical sales tiers (the pioneers), and technical caretakers (the settlers), once a territory has been cultivated. Fred McMurray – Fred McMurray is a champion of marketing for small & midsized for businesses and franchisees as well as not-for-profits.  As CEO of Mediavine Marketing – a full service marketing company in the Chicago, Midwest & Central California Coast areas with a global clientele whose specialty is digital marketing – his mission is to provide a localized and personalized marketing presence that leads people to buy products and services, create new relationships, increase awareness and share resources.  He is Vice Chairmain of Veterans HOPES, whose goal is to develop housing for homeless veterans.
