This introductory survey course into small business marketing will guide students through the fundamentals of online and offline marketing. Because each business is different, emphasis during the course will be on building awareness for the tools and resources that are available to students that will help their businesses grow. Topics will include offline marketing strategies, sales strategies, email marketing, social media marketing, and how to identify ideal, profitable customers. We cover pitfalls to avoid when promoting a business, how to blend online and offline marketing strategies for maximum impact, and how to grow a business on a limited budget. Experience using web browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer) and a working email account set up prior to taking the class is highly recommended.
