After a successful career in recruitment in Bunbury and the Pilbara, Kate moved home to Harvey with her husband and 2 boys to spend more time with their extended family and create a forever home. With a FIFO lifestyle and the inability to work a "normal" job without putting the kids in full time daycare, Kate set about creating herself a role which would achieve work life harmony and enable her to work when she could, rather than when she had to. After dabbling in a few service based businesses in the past, Kate saw a gap in the market, and set about creating South West Mums, an online events guide, business directory and go-to site for Mums in the area. With a huge focus on promoting local, Kate not only writes much of the site's blog content but also works to promote local bloggers and mums who write to create a truly local platform.
