Jim Belushi & Chicago Board of Comedy

“Saturday Night Live” and “Second City” alum, Jim Belushi is now bringing to the stage an improvised comedy sketch show featuring members of the Chicago Board of Improv. Belushi starred on the ABC hit comedy "According to Jim,” on which he also served as executive producer, music composer and director. After wrapping 182 episodes for its eighth and final season, the family favorite series also hit a milestone when it launched into off-net syndication in 2007. A favorite of film, television and stage audiences, Belushi is one of the great leading character actors equally at home in drama and comedy, and a gifted performer who can also hold a room as front man of a rhythm and blues band. Accompanying Belushi are Larry Joe Campbell, Robert Belushi, Megan Grano, Joshua Funk, and Brad Morris, all of whom are classically trained professional improvisers who tour regularly nationwide. Cast Bios: Jim Belushi began his acting career in Chicago, Illinois studying at three of the top theatres: The Goodman, The Apollo, and The Second City. After his two-year stint on Saturday Night Live, Jim appeared in over 75 movies, including Red Heat, About Last Night, The Principal, and K-9, and five television series, including eight years on According to Jim and, most recently, CBS's The Defenders. In 2011, Jim gained rave reviews on Broadway as Harry Brock in Born Yesterday. However, drama and comedy are not the only facets to Jim’s breadth of talents. For the past fifteen years, he has been singing, dancing, and playing harmonica in the Blues Brothers with Dan Aykroyd and with his own band, The Sacred Hearts. Together they have produced four albums and performed all over the world. Jim is thrilled to be getting back to his improv roots with this incredibly talented and hilarious group of actors. In conjunction with The Chicago Board of Comedy, Jim has also recently opened The Comedy Bar, a stand-up club in his hometown of Chicago in River North. Larry Joe Campbell is excited to be onstage with this super talented cast! And he is ecstatic to be back with Jim again having worked together for 8 seasons on According to Jim. Since then, Larry has appeared in the movies Hall Pass and Killers and has had recurring roles on Weeds, Rules of Engagement, and Lifetime's The Protector. Larry Joe can be seen this summer in R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon and in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. Larry Joe lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Peggy, and their five children. Larry would like you to know that he loves you. (Yes, you. The one who's reading this.) Robert Belushi split his formative years between Chicago and Los Angeles, returning to Chicago after graduating from Wesleyan University with an Honors B.A. in Film Studies to work in theater. After performing at some of the most celebrated theaters in Chicago, most notably Steppenwolf and The Second City, Rob returned to Los Angeles to work in television and film. Most recently you can see him as a cast member on The Joe Schmo Show on Spike (premiering in January) or as Keith, the town cop on the upcoming Fox comedy, The Goodwin Games. Rob enjoys most working with his father on stage, but has been lucky to appear with him on According to Jim (ABC), The Defenders (CBS) and as a high school basketball coaching tandem in Thunderstruck (Warner Brothers). Megan Grano has appeared on TV in Weeds, Parks and Recreation, Hot in Cleveland, Conan, The Great State of Georgia, and American Dad. Film roles include Bridesmaids and This is 40. She is a 2008 alum of The Second City Chicago. She is also an iO Theater alum – where she has performed improv since 1999. She is beyond grateful to be a part of the CBOC. Joshua Funk is proud to be the director and musical director for Jim Belushi and The Chicago Board of Comedy. He is a multiple Joseph Jefferson Award winning director for The Second City in Chicago. On television, Joshua was the improvisation director for MTV's long running Wild n' Out. Online, he directed the viral series "Sassy Gay Friend" and was nominated for a New Now Next award and voted "Top 10 Videos of the Decade" by The Huffington Post. He is currently the music composer for Comedy Central's hit series "Key & Peele." Brad Morris is a sketch comedian, actor, writer, director and improvisor. An alum of The Second City’s Mainstage, Brad is also a founding member of the long form improvisational groups, The Reckoning and Uncle’s Brother with Tim Meadows. Brad has appeared in roles on Modern Family, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The League, Nick Swardson’s Pretendtime, Mash-Up, as well as many national commercials. He is also a staff writer and actor on the TBS show, Cougartown.
