LoveToKnow, Inc. announced a new online campaign that will allow users of the LoveToKnow.com online community to choose a non-profit organization to receive a donation from the company. This is the first time LoveToKnow has involved users in their decision-making when it comes to charitable giving.
Beginning December 1, LoveToKnow will ask users to vote on one of four organizations — Susan G. Komen for the Cure, FirstBook, Habitat for Humanity International, and Women for Women — and will donate one penny per hundred page views to the winner. A page view is recorded every time a user views a unique page on LoveToKnow.com, and regular traffic averages about 15 million page views per month for the site.
LoveToKnow.com, the second most popular Web site for women, provides expert content and advice in nearly 100 categories, including family, home, style, health, beauty, travel, entertainment and more. With more than 80% of its traffic coming from women, the Web site is able to address women’s issues with freelance writers who are experts in their respective areas.
This extends the company’s track record of involving LoveToKnow community members in charitable giving. A non-profit has been designated in each of the past five months, with LoveToKnow donating thousands of dollars to organizations such as the American Red Cross’ Iowa Disaster Relief Fund, Ovarian Cancer Research Center, The Betty Ford Center, The Children’s Defense Fund, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Voting to determine which group will receive the donation will continue for the entire month of December, and overall page views will be calculated in January. User voting will be recorded on the Cast Your Vote page, where users can easily vote with just one mouse click.
