Map of New Orleans

This elegantly designed map highlights New Orleans as visitors would see in 1975.

From the inside back cover of the "Fascinating New Orleans as Seen on Tour" booklet, published by Harvey Press in 1975 as a promotional booklet for the Southern Tours Motorcoach Company.

The booklet features color photos and a layout enhanced by the use of a black wrought-iron motif as a decorative border.

Wikipedia’s page on 610 (maintained by Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development, DOTD) says I-610 “was completed in the late 1970s.” When was I-10 through New Orleans completed? Around 1976? We used to drive down to N.O. all the time from Baton Rouge in the late ’70s—I do not remember a time when I-10 did not exist in New Orleans. I don’t see it on the Wikipedia history of I-10 in Louisiana here, or 610 here: Here’s an interesting map from the New Orleans, Louisiana 1955 Yellow Book:,_Louisiana_1955_Ye…
