Master Class “Social Media Marketing”

Digital marketing is dramatically changing the way we do business today. Whereas traditional media such as TV and print still play a major role in marketing communication, digital and in particular social media marketing are on the path to assume a more dominant position. Beyond all the praise and criticism of social networks, marketers find it challenging to design strategies tailored for social media. In the master class, Prof. Ashwin Malshe will identify these challenges and offer solutions to various problems. Using academic research, Prof. Malshe will briefly discuss multiple objectives of social media, elements of content strategy, how to implement social media strategies, and some of the pitfalls of this new medium.

About the Expert:
Ashwin Malshe, expert in Social Media and Digital Marketing, is Assistant Professor of Marketing at ESSEC Business School. His research is focused on Marketing Strategy, Marketing-Finance Interface, Cons umer Behavior and Behavioral Decision Theory. With previous industry experiences as Marketing Manager at Unit Trust of India and Head of Analytics at MeritTrac Services Pvt Ltd, India, Professor Malshe now teaches marketing analytics and social media marketing to Master of Science in Management and MBA students at ESSEC Asia Pacific. Professor Malshe’s publications and working papers have appeared in top-tier management conferences and journals such as Journal of Consumer Psychology and Journal of Business Research.
