Mediation and Moderation Analysis and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)

Mediation and Moderation Analysis and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)
Event on 2014-06-20 14:00:00

Leaders: Rita Fontinha, Research Fellow, OSHRM, Pratik Modi, Research Fellow, MRKS, and Nikos Paltalidis, Research Fellow, ECFIN.

Purpose / objectives:
To provide an overview of the usage of Mediation and Moderation in business research and to perform analyses using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM).

Benefit / application:
A clear understanding of the difference between Mediation and Moderation will help researchers create more accurate research designs. Furthermore SEM, via the software AMOS, is a privileged way to analyse mediation and moderation, providing robust findings, and ultimately leading to more chances of publication in high-impact journals.

Content:
We will explore the difference between Mediation and Moderation, describing the applicability of each of them and then move to an example where participants will interact with the software AMOS.

Please note, this seminar is only open to staff and research students at the University of Portsmouth, Other registrations will be deleted.
