In an unprecedented move, Google is sending a team of engineers to support WebmasterWorld’s World Search Conference, being held in June 21-24, 2005. Conference delegates can get involved in roundtable sessions with the Google engineers on specific subjects of interest and relevance. In addition, the event will feature an invitation-only cocktail party where conference delegates can meet the engineers on an informal basis.
“In keeping with its focus on bringing you the fastest and easiest way to find relevant information, Google is pleased to invite you to an interactive session with the people that make it all happen – Google Engineers,” said a spokesperson from Google.
Register at http://www.webmasterworld.com/conference and complete the “by invitation only” to the Google roundtable event at the conference.
Brett Tabke, WebmasterWorld’s CEO said: “Google will have around 10 search engineers at the event to answer questions. Also, Matt Cutts of Google will be on hand at Thursday’s super session Search Engines and Webmasters (aka: Search Engine Smack Down) along with Tim Mayer (Yahoo!), Rahul Lahiri (Ask Jeeves), and Eytan Seidman (MSN Search). It’s going to be an exciting, and packed show.”
WebmasterWorld’s conference will also feature a Keynote Speech from John Battelle, co-founding editor of Wired Magazine, Wired Ventures, and the author of one of the web’s most anticipated books “The Search.”
There are three tracks each day and these are: “Search & The Webmaster,” “Advertising & Affiliates” and “Webmasters – Publishers.” Within each track, there are sessions focusing on some of the hottest topics. For example, in the Search & The Webmaster track, there are sessions devised to help webmasters get the best out of Local Search, Getting Traffic From Shopping Search, Landing Page Creation & Conversion, and Conversion and ROI.
Advertising & Affiliate sessions include The Anatomy of a Micro Site, Email Marketing, Affiliate Program Optimization, Trademarks and Copyright. Webmasters who are Publishers will find some new and interesting topics, including Contextual Advertising, Competitive Intelligence, Podcasting, Blogging, and a Usability session.
