President of MIT Susan Hockfield says the early transistor radios fascinated her. "I use and love technology. It’s hard to imagine how we got to where we are today. I got my first Macintosh computer in 1984 and fell in love. Now it’s all Mac, all the time. I have an iPhone, and use an iPad to read ebooks."

Hockfield spoke about the innovation economy at the Commonwealth Club inside Silicon Valley Bank on November 9, 2011.
