New Browser Add-On Development Study by Besttoolbars Shows Huge Potential for Audience Coverage Increase in Coupons Browser Add-On

(PRWEB) December 03, 2012

Conducted with the participation of a number of its clients, Besttoolbars calculated that businesses who consider adding a second browser when they decide to make a browser add-on fared much better than organizations that focused their efforts on a single platform. Statistics from the study confirm that audience coverage is increased by an average of 72% – 95% when browser add on development allowed for publication on two or more browsers.

The statistics were gathered in an extensive survey of selected Besttoolbars clients. The sample data was collected from 2 million add-on installations and more than 700 add-ons of varying types. Active returning customers were considered as those who visited the site of the coupon provider in a calendar month period.

Vladimir Zhukov, Head of Marketing at Besttoolbars said, The data coming out of our study is extremely interesting, particularly for those who want to make a browser add-on for a coupon or cash-back incentive. The fact that audience coverage can be increased by as much as 95% is an incredibly attractive proposition for the couponing industry as a whole. The statistics are very encouraging and really do demonstrate how important it is to use a browser add-on development tool or service that is compatible with multiple and cross-browser integration.

The release of Besttoolbars statistics coincides with new data from the World Wide Web Consortium which determined that although web browser market share is fragmented, a handful of browsers enjoyed almost equal user levels in October 2012. The list was dominated by Googles Chrome, which enjoyed 29.1% market share, compared with 27.4% for Internet Explorer and 22.1% for Firefox. Safari was the fourth most popular browser, with 14.1% of users, compared with Opera which hosts just 2.4% of users.

Using Besttoolbars for browser add-on development makes it easy to achieve cross-platform publication by bundling browser add-ons in single installers. The installers then install the add-ons into all browsers available on a users computer. Single installers make sure that every browser installed on the computer has the add-on, given extended audience reach
