Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB UK) 20 May 2015
The founding of Pond Partners LLC, a Los Angeles-based firm providing a comprehensive service for British companies looking to build subsidiaries in the United States, was announced today. Pond Partners will be based in Los Angeles and will specialize initially in technology and creative industries. It will provide for its clients both a physical U.S. presence through its offices, and a full range of business development services including client and partner acquisition, marketing, and public relations, as well as overseeing overall U.S. operations.
The founding partner of Pond, Nimesh Limbasia, originally from the UK, is an entrepreneur and former investment banker, with experience of building businesses in both the U.S. and the U.K., as well as India. Another partner is Robert Peirce, a former British Consul General in Los Angeles and founder of BritWeek Inc., with many years of experience helping British companies in California. The firm has a broad network of business leaders and professionals, expert in building businesses and particularly in the issues and opportunities associated with businesses coming to the U.S. from the U.K.
We have assembled a team with very broad expertise and experience, said Limbasia. Its a big deal to take that first step to break into the U.S. market, even for a company with a strong position in the U.K. Pond Partners will make that first step easier to take, and will provide a cost effective and efficient way to develop business here fast. We have the contacts and the access, and we know the ropes.
The United States is a large and lucrative market and the language and other similarities with the United Kingdom add to the attraction for British companies. But the similarities can be deceptive, and many British companies, even some of the largest, have failed in their US ventures. The US market is very different from the UK, and business culture is also very different. Pond Partners was founded by expatriate Brits who have themselves created numerous companies in the US, and they and their US-UK team have long experience of assisting companies from the UK to expand their business into the US.
The legal and administrative aspects of building a business in the US are also rather different from those in the UK. From setting up a company (advising on what type of incorporation is appropriate from the choices available and in what state jurisdiction), to acquiring the necessary licenses, permits, product approvals or intellectual property protections, to arranging work visas and navigating the laws and healthcare and other benefits issues around hiring in the US and its many different state jurisdictions, Pond Partners is able to handle the range of legal and administrative issues that would take any company new to the US a lot of time, hassle and money to learn the hard way.
Pond Partners also knows UK business are always looking to raise capital, and by giving these companies a solid foundation and proven product in the US, the success rate to raise funding is far higher
