He likes the breaking news aspect of Twitter, where it’s easier to filter selfie-obsessed followers and get to the meat of the story.

Katie Pennell, Senior Content Specialist

As Nina Hale, Inc.’s resident folklore fan, Katie’s eclectic background gives her a uniquely enthusiastic perspective on the inner workings of her clients’ stories. She worked in literary publishing and in creative communications before joining the NHI team as an intern in 2011, where she now works in all aspects of content development and optimization. Katie approaches everything from keyword research to video optimization with creative flair, and whether it’s binge-watching American Horror Story or volunteering at the Sundance Film Festival, she’s always on the lookout for new stories to experience. Where does Katie get inspiration? She loves remembering the fables, myths, and fairy tales that her father told her as a child, unraveling their storytelling fundamentals and figuring out why they’ve persisted for centuries.
