PCC Speed Pitching & Networking Event
“How Fast Can You Pitch?” PCC’s Speed-Pitching Event Invites You to Test Your Skills and Meet Influential Chicago-based Media
Taking a cue from speed dating where the goal is to make a “connection,” PCC’s very first “speed-pitching” and networking event will help you connect with many of Chicago’s leading journalists in person. You’ll get a chance to introduce yourself, talk about your clients or your organization, and discuss story ideas.
In this era, it’s harder than ever before to catch a busy journalist’s attention. PCC’s event will offer a unique forum for relationship-building and face-to-face conversations with reporters and producers, which can be invaluable when it comes to landing a story.
Feel free to pitch media representatives with your stories, or just introduce yourself and make a connection for the future. But you’ve only got a few minutes before it’s time to meet the next person, so make it fast! Even if you don’t have a specific pitch, this is still a great opportunity to introduce yourself to each of the journalists and start building relationships today.
Pitching will begin promptly at 6:00pm.
Confirmed media representatives so far include: •Marlen Garcia, columnist, Chicago Sun-Times
•Andrea Dres, producer, WLS-ABC’s “Windy City Live”
•Zach Long, Arts and Entertainment editor, Time Out Chicago
•Diane Eastabrook, correspondent, Al Jazeera America
5:30pm: Cocktails and networking
6:00pm-7:30pm: Event programming
Appetizers and refreshments included.
