Policy Listening Session for Farmers

Policy Listening Session for Farmers
Event on 2013-10-30 16:00:00

Are you an agricultural producer in Central Oregon? Do you want to know more about land use policies, health regulations, and permitting or processing issues? This is your opportunity to listen to a panel of experts focused on supporting food production in Oregon, and to ask questions and advocate for policies that positively affect you and your farming practices from the County to the State level.

This listening session will help to create a list of policies and regulations that you feel may be barriers and obstacles to a stronger and healthier local food economy.  Once we hear from you, we will try and answer your questions, and if needed, take your concerns to a higher authority to talk about policy change.

Agenda

Jo Lynne from USDA Risk Management will provide a 20 minute overview of the whole farm crop program and information about their grant/partnerships program with a 10 minutes Q&A.

The latter part of the agenda will include a panel discussion with the following community members.  This conversation will be facilitated Friends of Family Farmers who will then use this information to help plan for the 2014 legislation session.

We look forward to seeing you!
