This is the third class in the October Marketing Class Series.

Tuesday, October 8 6-8 pm: Positioning Your Ed Tech Startup 
Tuesday, October 15 6-8 pm: Social Media For Ed Tech Startups
Tuesday, October 22 6-8 pm: PR For Ed Tech Startups
Tuesday, October 29 6-8 pm: Measuring Your Marketing 

You will learn strategies for how to effectively build buzz for your product or service. The class will be geared toward ed tech and learning startups, but anyone is welcome to attend.

Come learn from Maureen MacGregor, a seasoned PR pro, and Jessica Owen, who oversees PR in-house at Boundless, a Boston-based ed tech startup.

You will learn:

  • the pros and cons of doing PR in-house vs. outsourcing it
  • how to create buzz on a tight budget
  • how to get and prepare for interviews (newspaper, TV, radio, etc.)

Dinner will be provided.

This class will be highly interactive and limited to 30 students to ensure that you have ample time to interact with the instructors and your peers.

Meet the Instructors 

Maureen MacGregor
Founder, Pelorus Communications
A communications strategist and PR/branding specialist focusing on start-ups, Maureen has launched and helped establish the early stage leadership of some of the most innovative, prestigious and successful B2B and B2C tech-based brands. Her practice, Pelorus Communications, helps clients emerge, evolve and share their larger change-potential story, achieving coverage and cross-channel impact that reverberates across their market.  Client companies are established as respected sources and emerging leaders, ready for their next growth stages. Prior to forming Pelorus as an agile virtual agency, she took three networking infrastructure and software start-ups from earliest stages to successful IPOs and acquisitions as a Marketing Director and PR lead.  

Jessica Owen
Digital Marketing & Communications, Boundless
Jessica is a digital marketer working with Boundless to bring affordable online textbooks to college students everywhere. She manages Boundless' digital marketing, public relations, and social media. She also creates content for Young Women in Digital, a Boston networking group that brings together young, female professionals in the digital, social, experiential, and online marketing world to network, learn from top speakers and share their expertise. Jessica received her B.S. in Journalism from Boston University.
