Prankster Mom who told 8-year-old son he bought $50K Car on eBay responds in Skype Interview

ATLANTA, Ga. — Paula Papen says she never thought her YouTube video showing her eight-year-old son Kenyon bursting into tears after she conned him into believing he’d accidentally bought an expensive car on Ebay would elicit such intense reactions. “He gets upset sometimes,” Papen said. “But he usually bounces back pretty quickly.” Papen says she was trying to teach her son a lesson about fooling around on her iPad and visiting internet sites without her permission. But reaction to the video has been intense and intensely divided. Some say the video is just a good-natured prank. But others say it’s bad parenting, blasting Papen and the video as mean-spirited and embarrassing. “To me, it’s cruel,” Bob Leonard said after viewing the video. “Her son is visibly upset and crying.” Papen says her son Kenyon recovered quickly after she let him in on the joke. “It was just a prank. It’s OK. I got a little payback at the end,” Kenyon said. The family flew to New York Wednesday to discuss the video on the Today Show.

  1. He can point to this as the turning point in his life in ten years when his Hung Black boyfriend is Detonating a Huge atomic load of Jizz in his buttocks.

  2. She coulda spanked him or scolded him or anything and y’all have your panties in a bunch because a kid cries for all of 60 seconds if that. This isn’t even news. The MSM needs to get their heads out of their ass and do some real reporting for once. Completelty harmless. If my kid had been buzzing about on ebay and almost bought a car I might have done at least as much as this mom. Y’all call this cruel. Why don’t you go visit a foster home and hear the stories untold by the media?

  3. He needed to feel what it would be like if something like that really did happen. I love my boys and I would do something similar. We always play pranks with each other. It was harmless. He will think twice from now on. No harm done and I think I am a good mum. Too many ‘by the book’ mums out there. Boring!!
