The landowners of approximately 40,000 acres of land, formerly known as part of the Noelke Hill Wind Ranch and Spinning Star Energy Smart Wind Ranch projects, seek a highly qualified developer for one of the largest wind energy projects in the country. The land is located in Upton and Crockett Counties in West Texas near McCamey and south of Rankin, known as the Wind Capital of Texas, and has some of the best wind resources in the United States.
The land is located east of Texas Highway 349 encompassing the mesas from Rankin to Iraan and near new competitive renewable energy zone (CREZ) transmission lines scheduled to be completed at the end of 2013/ beginning of 2014.
The owners can provide almost 5 years of wind data that is currently being monitored by GL Garrad Hassan.
They are seeking a qualified developer capable of starting construction on the project before year-end 2013 and completing it in one single phase of construction in 2014.
