Price Rite Drug Re-Opens Bozeman Pharmacy
For more than 40 years, Price Rite Drug has been a family-owned Montana business. Starting in Belgrade in 1972, Price Rite moved to Bozeman in 1985 and started a long partnership with Van’s IGA on the corner of North 7th Street and West Tamarack. Today, Price Rite Drug is a premier pharmacy, serving Bozeman and the surrounding area. Price Rites team assists customers in making sense of Medicare and Medicaid, and will bill insurance companies directly. As a member of the HealthMart pharmacy network, Price Rites pharmacy is up-to-the-moment with the latest in pharmaceutical care.
Though Price Rite has remained a Bozeman institution, a lot has changed around it. When Van’s IGA decided not to renew its lease in April 2012, Price Rite and the other businesses in the building were caught off guard. Price Rite’s future seemed uncertain. “It would’ve been 10 times easier, 100 times easier,” says owner Randy Harrington, if Price Rite has known earlier about Van’s IGA closing.
Price Rite debated: would they remain at their traditional location or strike out on their own? Pragmatism and convenience for their customers won out, and they decided to continue their tenure at their central Bozeman location.
The Door on Tamarack Street
In 2002, Price Rite opened a Medical Equipment branch to support their pharmacy. The Medical Equipment branch is located in the same building, but with a separate street entrance off West Tamarack Street on the front side of the building. While the pharmacy’s primary concern is filling prescriptions and making medicinal recommendations, the Equipment store provides fitting, repair, and maintenance service.
