Psychology for Digital Behavior Change – Vancouver (2-3 day workshop)
Event on 2015-04-27 00:00:00
During this 2-day workshop, Brian Cugelman, PhD will teach you how to design human centered technologies that are more persuasive and engaging.
The curriculum is based on science, but presented in a practical format, with visual examples, and hands-on exercises, designed to reinforce your learning and help you build new skills. Moreover, it’s full of practical tips, and tools that you can take back to the office, and apply immediately.
You’ll learn to recognize and apply over 50 principles of persuasive psychology, and start to recognize psychological architectures, recipes that drive popular design patterns such as gamification, feedback loops, landing pages, and more.
This workshop is great for interactive designers (UI/UX), web designers, digital marketers, product managers, and web/mobile developers.
This workshop also includes an optional advanced 3rd day. Whereas the first two days will give you a grounding in the core principles of persuasive design psychology, our optional 3rd day will show you how to blend those principles into winning combinations, called Psychological Architectures. These combinations make up common persuasive design patterns, best practices, and behavior change theories, such as gamification, feedback loops, habit design, risk screeners, digital coaches, stages of change, to name a few. Psychological Architectures typically work well in particular contexts, but can completely backfire when misapplied, which is why this workshop will help you to find the right architecture, for the right context.
During 2015, Dr. Cugelman will run workshops in Chicago, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, New York, Washington DC, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Palo Alto. Don’t miss AlterSpark’s most popular workshop.
