Scratch In Control

A whole day of free inservice training on how to use Scratch in the classroom, with an emphasis on fun projects that involve the real world.
The event is hosted by Riverside School, an international school in Prague, at their Junior High campus on the banks of the river Vltava. Space is limited, we can comfortably accommodateabout 30 teachers in our Resource Center.
Teachers from across Europe are welcome to attend – just register for a free ticket so that we know you're coming. If you need travel or accommodation advice, you will find additional information on the Scratch in Control website.
We plan to offer a bit of everything for everyone from beginners to experienced coders, from high school computing specialists to elementary classroom teachers looking to add an extra dimension into their curriculum.
As well as presentations of how to use Scratch in the curriculum, there will be ample opportunities to get hands-on experience with a variety of new robotics and control technology kit.
This will include:
- Exciting Makey Makey projects
- Arduuino projects with S4A
- Integrating open source robotics kits (multiplo and makeblock)
There will be competitions and prizes too!
Free copies of our award-winning curriculum and other resources will also be available.
This event is organised by David Hellam, an experienced ICT/computing teacher who began using Scratch in his classroom in 2007. David is a Google Certified Teacher who has led coding presentations at Google Apps for Education summits in Europe and the Middle East.
