SEO 101: Small Steps & Info to Get You Started

Having a presence on search engines can be vital to the success of small businesses. 89% of consumers use search engines to find information on products, services, or businesses prior to making a purchase. SEO is easy to do when given the right information. The lessons taught in this workshop are built to help you improve your search engine presence.
In this workshop, you will learn
1) The metrics search engines use to determine how relevant your webpage is to users
2) What tools are available to discover who is visiting your website and how they got there
3) Things you can do tonight to immediately improve your search engine rank
We will begin by defining Search Engine Optimization, explaining what SEO is related to, and how it applies to you and your company. You’ll learn why it’s important to design your website and web presence so that it can be easily found by search engines. That way, they can correctly characterize, and positively rank your web page. The metrics used to rank your page by search engines will be explained. You will improve your conversion rate, the time spent on your site, and so on by creating different web pages and learning what tweaks to make. We will continue with explaining how to collect and analyze data about your website and the audience who visits it. Not only will you learn what you can do with valuable data to improve your search engine rank, but you’ll also learn how to improve your conversion rates, reviews, and public relations.
A lot of ground will be covered in this class. Taught in a comprehensive way to give you an understanding and basic knowledge of what it means to have your website optimized for both search engines and your users. About the Teacher: A member here at Impact HUB, Marshall Hayes has been incorporating social responsibility into functioning enterprises.
