Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 08, 2013
Local Boston SEO company Brick Marketing (http://www.brickmarketing.com) is donating to The One Fund Boston, Inc. The One Fund Boston was started by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
As a Boston-based business Brick Marketing, like other Boston-area businesses, was strongly affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon and subsequent events that followed including the death of an MIT police officer and the city-wide shut down during which the second bombing suspect was captured. The companys entire staff lives in Boston and the surrounding towns and many had friends or family that ran in this years race or in previous marathons.
Nick Stamoulis, President of Brick Marketing, says The One Fund Boston is something that all local businesses, big or small, should be donating to. Every little bit counts and this fund is going to directly help our neighbors and friends and those most affected by this tragedy. Its the least we can do as Boston natives.
The cornerstone donation to The One Fund Boston is a $ 1 million commitment from John Hancock. But donations have been pouring into The One Fund Boston from across the city, state, and country. For instance, two Emerson College students (of which several Brick Marketing employees are alumni of) created a Boston Strong tee-shirt, hoping to raise $ 1,500. The two students actually raised over $ 700,000 selling the shirts, the proceeds all being donated to The One Fund Boston. Emerson College is only a few blocks from the Boston Marathon finish line and several students were injured in the bombings. Nearly $ 30 million dollars have been donated to The One Fund Boston at this point.
Tickets to the Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration” concert, featuring New Kids on the Block, James Taylor, Aerosmith, and other performers with Boston roots at the TD Garden arena sold out in only 5 minutes and all proceeds will also be going to The One Fund Boston.
