  1. It’s not just the position – add authorship and breadcrumbs (e.g. review stars, other meta data) to add a bit more info to the SERP entry, and you’ll see better clickthroughs.

  2. *Even Google wants us to focus on marketing fundamentals* This video from +Matt Cutts says what I’ve been saying for a while now…focus on delivering quality, don’t try to take shortcuts, and create a marketing strategy around your *entire* online presence. Thank you Matt for reminding everyone that marketing fundamentals and good business are what will always get you ahead. ~Stephan h/t +Glenn Gabe #seo #webstrategy #socialmedia #onlinemarketing #marketing

  3. Dream: create good content → google rank it well and you will be happy. Reality: create good content → someone else steals it → you will never rank well because the thiefs have more trust, links, domain age, more money, they buy adwords, blah blah → then you think “what if i am being penalized by duplicate content issues?”. Then you hope bing ranks you well but instead you find out bing is just full of spam sites like 3w.insertlongtailkeywordhere[dot]com. No hope, welcome to the internet

  4. *Should webmasters focus on more than just ranking in search results?* Of course! It’s great to hear Matt telling webmasters to diversify their marketing channels. At the end of the day, Google doesn’t owe us anything and the only constant is, and will continue to be change. While I still personally believe organic is an important medium, it may become less relevant for businesses as the results pages evolve, and other emerging channels start to play a more prominent role in the path to conversion. 5. I look forward to the day when “real” people with great websites can rank as high as they deserve despite their artickes beeing stolen and put up in x number of blogs

  6. *Memo to Webmaster: Googles Algorithm Will Always Be Changing* If you don’t follow the Webmaster Help Youtube Channel, then you may have missed the news. On the 14th, Matt Cutts answered a question submitted to him about the trust of Google in the future. Googles Algorithm Will Always Be Changing so be prepared. *Is SEO dead or just now changed to Subject Engine Optimization?* SEO is hardly dead, but is this a trend and shift towards Subject Engine Optimization or content centric search? What is Subject Engine Optimization? It’s more than Search Engine Optimization, it entails becoming an authority in the topic, and delivering high quality content to users in the subject matter. Subject Engine Optimization doesn’t just stop with providing good content, it’s about having great user experience to back it up. https://widgetware.com/news/memo-to-webmaster-googles-algorithm-will-always-be-changing/

  7. *Since Google is been actively updating its search results, it is hard for people to trust Google anymore. Should one start focusing on getting leads from social media other than search engine results?* Like what?… Odd question… #Google #SEO #twt

  8. I’m sick and tired of all of the spam bs on here. Should you wish to get great money you will have to see proof of earnings. The actual only real place I’ve come across this is the Zutore Cash System internet site (Google it!) Do I possess a mansion? Hell no! Mind you, I am self-employed currently. Does all the bullshit irritate everybody else? No? Only myself then…

  9. Whitehat : Follow Google’s shitty guidelines and it’ll take forever to earn a few bucks. Blackhat : Follow opposite to what Google says, you’ll rank high, within short period of time, you’ll earn money, doesn’t matter if the site gets blacklisted. You’ll earn money. The thing is don’t follow what they say.

  10. From his answer, Matt said: We will always be working on improving our algorithm and improving OUR search results. By that it means if you want to get better search results you have to partner with Google. It’s all about business so it should not be difficult to understand that Google will naturally favor those who give them business.
