  1. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you’re saying this is unique then well, sure it is, isn’t every new game supposed to be? What I’m really saying is that i LOVE silent hill, but i do not like this game and i don’t even want to consider it a part, sorry that is my personal opinion and I’m entitled to having one, but as for saying the “if you’re a real fan of SH…etc” thing, i might have got a bit carried away. Also, what about Shattered Memories?- wasn’t that more unique than this…?

  2. Are you actually trying to imply that real silent hill fans wouldn’t like this game? Congratulations on saying the most ignorant and idiotic thing I’ve seen in the last 3 hours (it’s the internet, these things aren’t that hard to come by). And I don’t know where you are getting this “they couldn’t come up with more ideas”, when this was probably the most unique silent hill game since 4.

  3. Ive recently purchased this game, and while i do agree with some points that IGN make, some are way off… Graphic glitches are bad, scares/weird moments could be increased, but what i love is the fact that the game doesn’t tell you to “go here” “use this”, etc a lot of the time, you have to work out things for yourself, which is unique to Silent hill games. Combat is quite sloppy, in the sense that if you move during combat you turn 90 degrees.. in my opinion i would give it a 7/10

  4. For once, i actually agree with this review, though it didn’t mention half of the bad things in this game, like the fact how they keep re-using the same things over and over again, like running from the light, which was originally from SH3, how many times did it happen there? JUST ONE, how many times is it here?… To me it feels like they were slacking off big time, they couldn’t come up with more ideas so they stuck with the old ones. If you really were a fan of SH, you’d know.. this isn’t it.

  5. You know what’s my problem? I’ve been a silent hill fan from 10 years I think and now I am 22 and I hate ur fucking comments. If you don’t like this kind of games than go and play a shootter to do nothing the whole game but shoot. I love silent hill and even through the idea is allways the same, the games are very different and I can’t wait all teh time for a new silent hill. I am used to this stupid reviews. I only like horror games and adventure games and they allways get bad reviews.

  6. Silent hill is meant to be a psychological survival horror the key word being survival,Resident Evil became an action game with zombies. Creepy puzzles, and monsters dont scare people, When i played Silent Hill 2 i was constantly looking for health pack and genuinly afraid because of the suspense. The games now are too safe, they can be difficult they can pump up the gore, but it’s safe because the player doesn’t feel trapped, alone, scared, or hunted. Take a note from Slender: suspense.

  7. 1:34 this is not true. if you guys really did play the game, you would know that all those choices effect what ending you would get in the end. Proves that IGN doesn’t know what they are doing.

  8. Give me a break. Downpour is shitty and there’s no excuse for lack of polish of this level in a game. Btw this series is SURVIVAL HORROR. What were they thinking?!
