OXFORD, Miss. (PRWEB) July 14, 2005
History is about to take place, as The History Channel rolls out the first-ever coast-to-coast independent pizzeria promotion designed to attract viewers to its Monday, September 5th premiere of ROME: ENGINEERING AN EMPIRE at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The History Channel and independent pizzeria operators are teaming up to begin the first-ever marketing campaign for independent operators. The History Channel is supporting the promotion with $ 500,000 in media support, including nationally-run television commercials on The History Channel, The Biography Channel® and History International.
The History Channel will direct its viewing audience to participating pizzerias through television spots, while the pizzerias will direct pizza consumers to visit The History Channel website to enter for a chance to win a trip of a lifetime to Rome, Italy.
The national pizza promotion will combine local in-store marketing of the independent pizzeria with the national media exposure from The History Channel. The independent operators are provided with all point-of-sale materials needed to promote the campaign including box toppers, window clings, posters and table tents. Pizza operators will offer their customers a chance to win a trip to Rome by directing their customers to The History Channel website. While there the customer can find their local participating pizzerias where they can print a coupon, which the pizzeria operators will honor from August 15 through September 30, 2005.
To further encourage pizzeria operators to participate in the program, participating pizzerias are eligible to win a trip to the World Pizza Championships in Italy. To enroll in the program and enter the drawing for the free trip, pizza operators need to register at http://www.pmq.com by July 22, 2005.
