Paul Howard, Director of The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, is presenting at the National Council for Hypnotherapys Extravaganza today.
The NCH has held its annual event at the Royal Society of Medicine in London since 2009.
Paul Howard is the National Council for Hypnotherapys Marketing Director and a hypnotherapist. Mr Howard is responsible for organising this years Extravaganza, alongside various events and marketing throughout the year, as well as running a busy practice at the Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy in Wallington, Surrey. The Surrey Institute has been established since 2003 and has several full-time therapists with various different specialisations including anxiety, problem behaviours (such as alcohol, gambling and drugs), OCD, psoriasis and weight loss.
His talk will take a different approach to the others, focusing on NCH members and exploring the best tactics to market themselves on a shoestring budget. This will include tips on search engine optimisation (SEO), generating client leads and improving website rankings. This presentation is a cut down version of the 4 day master class taught at the Surrey Institute called The Ultimate Therapy Marketing Course.
Mr Howard said One of the biggest challenges for any hypnotherapist is to keep a steady flow of new clients coming in to their practice. The challenge tends to be harder for hypnotherapists as their therapy is normally brief which means clients will resolve their problems quickly. However, when they have problems like anxiety and depression they are not about to shout about it from the rooftops which means that they are not about to announce how they got rid of their problems to their friends.
Paul Howard has been the Marketing Director for the National Council for Hypnotherapy since 2005 and has been instrumental in growing the professional association from 800 to nearly 2000 members, making it by far the largest non-for-profit Professional Hypnotherapy Association in the UK. Its members are all properly qualified and are trained to the national occupational standard as laid down by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which regulates the hypnotherapy profession.
CNHC was established with government support to regulate the hypnotherapy profession, as well as many other therapies. Their key purpose is to protect the public. The Department of Health has recommended that, when looking for a hypnotherapist, you consult with someone who is CNHC registered.
A representative from the National Council for Hypnotherapy added, The Extravaganza is dedicated to delivering a variety of information on a range of challenging topics, as well as thinking of the more practicable side of hypnotherapy which is where Mr Howards talk fits in today. We hope the talks will be entertaining and give the opportunity to members to learn something new.
