Willy Porter

"How To Rob A Bank," the latest release from esteemed guitarist/singer-songwriter Willy Porter, showcases his continued growth as a songwriter and recording artist. Porter offers a rich blend of salt and sugar with tracks that move easily from rough-hewn electric edges into soulful irony with equal aplomb. Jeff Giles of Popdose.com says, "It's another solid entry in a discography full of them, and one of the smarter, more durable albums of grown-up music we're likely to get this year."

Having toured with artists as diverse as Jeff Beck and Tori Amos, Porter capitalizes on his experience as a seasoned live performer on How To Rob A Bank. World-renowned guitarist Greg Koch had this to say about Porter's new disc: "you get the same feeling listening to it as you do from one of his solo gig's…that you are in the presence of greatness…" Each song is a fresh cross-pollination of styles, genres and musical forms. Frets Magazine called Porter "a genre-defying maverick." He continues on that path as he easily transitions from the light-hearted McCartney-esque "Lemon Tree" into "I Didn't Bring it Up," in which Porter wryly declares he "checked the oil and cleared the gutters" of mid-life marriage. In the electric guitar driven "Hard Place" he digs into three generations of an American soldier's perspective. The rest of the album includes flavors of New Orleans ("Wide Open Mind"), The Band ("Psychic Vampire") and post-bluegrass country ("Barefoot Reel").

Willy Porter "…has crafted some of his most irresistibly tuneful songs yet." (Shepherd Express) In his most recent offering on Weasel Records "Porter [is] at the top of his game, working off his creative debt to Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan," (Dave Tianen – Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)

"Porter is a dazzling acoustic guitarist with a moody baritone…" -The Washington Post

"Willy Porter captures the street corner ethic of acoustic performance perfectly." -The Village Voice

"Willy Porter is a relaxed and fearless performer who'll entertain you as well as move you." -Acoustic Guitar Magazine

Richard Shindell

Richard Shindell is a meticulous craftsman of song whose eight studio albums and 2 live recordings have been revered by critics and fans alike. Innovative, original and occasionally spiritual, Shindell's songs weave tales that interchangeably champion the downtrodden, exalt the disaffected or wax empathetic to those lost to society's fringes. Shindell's songwriting is truly eclectic, ranging from lighthearted ballads and adulterous love songs, to dirges and diatribes that skillfully skewer politics, prejudice, war and religion. He has a unique ability to morph into the soul of the many and varied personalities he casts as narrators in certain songs–songs that are veritable novellas framed in haunting acoustic melodies, sometimes including cryptic, revelations through the eyes of a woman. With each successive record, Shindell toured relentlessly, and built a solid following of loyal fans. In 1997, he was invited to join Joan Baez on tour and opened the eyes and ears of a new segment of folk music enthusiasts to his talents as a songwriter and performer. The new record, On Thirteen Songs You May Or May Not Have Heard Before, Richard Shindell revisits some of his best known songs with a fresh eye and new arrangements, stripping the songs down to their basic framework and rebuilding them with a more intimate feel. This new approach puts the emphasis on Shindell's stunning acoustic guitar work and expressive storytelling, with subtle instrumental support from long-time Shindell collaborators Larry Campbell, Lincoln Schleifer, Marc Shulman, Sara Milonovich, Viktor Krauss and others. This collection includes one new song called Satellites as well as songs from throughout his 20-plus year career.

What sustains a band for more than three decades? Not a hit radio band, but a roll-up-your-sleeves/drive to the next gig overnight/carry your own gear up the steps and night after night make people happy kind of band. One that makes them dance; sends them home to come back again-and again. What makes that kind band stay together through relatively few personnel changes? Answer: A good idea; a universal yet somehow unique good idea. The band was over 10 years old and had baffled the mainstream industry before the term "roots rock" was coined to explain the likes of West Coasters like Los Lobos and The Blasters. By then, the affiliation with many of the living blues greats seemed to brand The Nighthawks a "blues band," despite the fact that they played with Carl Perkins as well as Muddy Waters. The Nighthawks set off on a musical mystery tour that took them to 49 states and a dozen countries. They played with nearly all the living blues legends as well as a new generation of bands sometimes called "the Blue Wave," and released several important albums, including the best-selling Jacks and Kings with Pinetop Perkins, Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson, Calvin Jones and Bob Margolin.

"The Nighthawks show no sign of slowing down as they enter their fifth decade as a viable force on the contemporary blues scene. All Aboard the Last Train To Bluesville and be sure to enjoy the ride!" -Nashville Blues Society

Fat Tuesday with Eric Lindell

Eric Lindell first hit the national music scene with his 2006 Alligator Records debut Change In The Weather, critics and fans alike celebrated the arrival of a roots rocker with dozens of unforgettable original songs. With his musical roots planted in Northern California, Lindell's music blossomed in New Orleans. His combination of sweet, blue-eyed soul with foot-stomping R&B, swamp pop, funk and blues won him critical and popular acclaim across the country, with reviews and features in Relix, OffBeat, The Chicago Sun-Times, Harp, Guitar Player, Down Beat, The New Yorker, The New York Press and many other national and regional publications. Singer And Musician magazine put Eric on the cover and many newspaper entertainment sections did the same. The New Orleans Times-Picayune said, "Eric Lindell has arrived. He channels Van Morrison with his irresistible soul…not a moment is wasted." The Chicago Sun-Times followed, saying "Soulful original songs fuse R&B, swamp pop and funk into a potent, party-time mix."

Lindell's live shows draw as much attention as his material. His unstoppable grooves, rocking, deeply rooted, original songs and excellent musicianship never fail to fill the dance floor. With the release of Between Motion and Rest, Lindell and his band will continue to tour heavily, giving the rest of the country the chance to discover for themselves what a growing number of people already know: Eric Lindell is a musician bursting at the seams with talent, with the uncanny natural ability to come up with one instantly classic song after another, and the desire to take his music to every corner of the music-loving universe.

Peter Mulvey

THE GOOD STUFF, Peter Mulvey's fifteenth record, is a collection of standards which promptly rejects the accepted definition of "Standard" in favor of a more vivid, open approach. The music of Tom Waits is right there with Duke Ellington; Willie Nelson next to Thelonious Monk; Jolie Holland juxtaposed with Bill Frisell. Mulvey (along with his band, the Crumbling Beauties) address each tune with a true artist's touch. His mirthful, gravelly baritone is front and center from moment one, and every track is a master class in restraint, phrasing, and commitment. Twenty-odd years on the road, performing songs from his own catalog and from a vast, varied, and deep well of classic and obscure covers, has prepared Mulvey to deliver this collection. Night after night, the process of divining the heart of a song, being alert to where the moment can lead, has shaped him as an artist. To each rendition, he brings the soul of a singer, a light touch in a heavy world.

"The greatest pop songwriting since Billy Joel" – Livingston Taylor

MPress recording artist Seth Glier will grab you…if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove." The 22-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist – who abandoned studies at The Berklee College of Music after one year because he "decided I should be playing for people and not for grades" – aims straight for the gut & has quickly established himself on the national scene performing over 250 shows a year.  In 2010, Glier shared stages with such diverse artists as James Taylor, Mark Knopfler, The Verve Pipe, and Edwin McCain. He has appeared as a mainstage artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY) and the Kerrville Folk Festival (TX). USA Today recently compared Seth to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel and recommended his track "Lauralee" on their "Listen Up Playlist" (Feb 2011). The only musical member of his family, Seth was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton and Randy Newman, but considers his brother to be his greatest influence. "My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them." Maybe the term ‘old soul' has meaning after all…

• First come, first seated The Fred Eaglesmith Traveling Steam Show

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and bandleader Fred Eaglesmith is a genuine iconoclast and true original. It's the natural result of following the cue of his musical career and now 19 albums with the January 2012 release of 6 Volts. The result is one of the most fascinating and musically rewarding careers in contemporary music. As he has doggedly gone his own way as an independent musical artist, Eaglesmith has also enjoyed such high profile rewards in recent years as having his songs covered by country superstars Toby Keith, Alan Jackson and Miranda Lambert, among many other accomplishments.

6 Volts is yet another landmark on a journey. The album takes its title from the battery that powered the game-changing transistor radio – introduced in 1954, the same year that rock'n'roll emerged into popular consciousness – and embodies the notion of back to the future. Captured live in the studio with one microphone onto a one-track reel to reel recorder like so many enduring classics, 6 Volts also bristles with contemporary urgency.By bringing the recording process all the way back home to its technologically basic origins, Eaglesmith succeeds in creating authentic and meaningful music. "There's still a certain love to it that's better than multitracking," he observes. Music doesn't get any more real than when you can't overdub, autotune, or fix it in the mix. 6 Volts opens with the memerizing life affirming track "Cemetery Road," the tragic yet loving "Katie," and the sparse and meditative "Been a Long Time." It channels the raw rock'n'roll musical truths of his youth while offering a nod of homage to his country music inspiration on "Johnny Cash." The album also draws on the spirit of the era when the transistor radio generation of musical artists and listeners keyed into the electricity of fusing rock'n'roll with country and Southern roots. "That era really felt like that was a powerful place to refer back to," Eaglesmith notes. "I did not want it to sound like, say, 1963. I wanted it to sound like a record that referenced that but was still made in 2011."

Throughout the years since his first album in 1980, Eaglesmith has usefully managed to both transcend and blend such genres and categories as rock'n'roll, country, folk, singer-songwriter, Americana, blues and bluegrass to fashion his own distinctive brand of literate, melodic and rhythmic rocking elecro-acoustic North American music. Along the way he has gathered a unique set of accomplishments: a Juno Award for Best Roots & Traditional Album, had his music used in films by Martin Scorsese, James Caan and Toby Keith, wrote a hit #1 on the bluegrass charts ("Thirty Years of Farming," recorded by James King), wowing David Letterman in his U.S. network debut in 2010, and finding his songs included in the curriculum at two colleges. His followers are so devoted that he is the host and centerpiece of a number of music festivals in the U.S. and Canada. He also inspired the Roots on the Rails rolling music fests and hosts its excursions on scenic railways as well as, last year, at sea. When not writing recording and performing music, Eaglesmith creates visual art that is exhibited in commercial galleries and museums. In addition to having his compositions featured on best-selling albums by country singers and writers themselves like Keith ("White Rose"), Jackson ("Freight Train") and Lambert ("Time To Get A Gun"), such fellow songwriting talents as The Cowboy Junkies, Chris Knight, Kasey Chambers, Mary Gauthier, Todd Snider and Dar Williams have all recorded Eaglesmith songs.

These days Eaglesmith is in motion most of the year from show to show in a school bus and RV that have been converted to run on both gas and used cooking oil they get from restaurants and diners along the way. The troupe pulls into campgrounds, RV parks, truckstops and WalMart parking lots to spend the night rather than in hotels, and cooks up their own feasts in the morning for breakfast. "Times are hard and things are tough for people, and we shouldn't be riding in busses that look like bachelor apartments," he states. As a result, "It makes me sound like the truth when I'm up there singing because it is the truth." It's all part and parcel of his mission of delivering a memorable and moving entertainment experience for the masses with his band, the Traveling Steam Show. In the final analysis, it's a simple equation. "We just play rock'n'roll," Eaglesmith asserts. And in the process deliver music based on passion and truth, with an emotional union and a shared sense of fun. "The root of it all is my little bit of creativity, that little ball of fire inside me. I just do what feels like the truth to me. And when it feels like the truth it's really not that hard to do or hard to listen to. Eaglesmith concludes. So he's happily left with a decision made long ago that he continues to follow that delivers essential affirmation with every step of life he takes. "I'm gonna play good, sing good, write good and act good."

Kris Allen VIP- Meet & Greet

Since skyrocketing to stardom as the winner of the 2009 season of American Idol, Kris Allen has enjoyed five singles on the Billboard charts. His self-titled debut album featured his hit single "Live Like We're Dying" which has a combined digital sales of over 1.7 million.

On his new album THANK YOU CAMELLIA, Kris Allen delivers on everything his fans love him for and more. The album is a showcase for the easy, lived-in richness of Kris' voice as well as his knack for crafting hook-filled pop melodies and writing heartfelt lyrics that explore the ups and downs of love. For THANK YOU CAMELLIA, Kris has cranked everything up a notch by co-writing every song and being heavily involved throughout each stage of the writing, recording, and production process.

Helping those sentiments go down easy is THANK YOU CAMELLIA's big pop-rock sound, which he achieved with the help of his producers, former Sugarcult singer Tim Pagnotta (who has also worked with Neon Trees); Curt Schneider (Augustana, Five for Fighting); and Nasri & Adam Messinger, known as The Messengers (Justin Bieber, Chris Brown). "I think we go to a lot of different places sonically," Kris says. "'Out Alive' sounds really huge to me, ‘My Weakness' has a reggae feel. There are some airy guitars, some cool percussive sounds, and poppy background vocals that were really fun to do. It's an upbeat record, but it also makes you think a little."

As an artist who is constantly on the road (he toured for a year and a half behind his debut album, playing headlining shows as well as opening for Keith Urban, Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies, and Lifehouse), Kris put a lot of thought into how the songs would go over onstage. I like the idea of people's reaction going from ‘Who is this guy' to ‘I love this guy!'"  Having already performed some of the album's songs live, Kris is gratified by the early response from fans to THANK YOU CAMELLIA, whose title is inspired by supportive friends he stays with in L.A. who live on a street called Camellia. "The reaction has been really good," he says. "Even my buddy who is very honest with me said, ‘I liked your last record, but this one is even better. The songs are deeper. It feels exactly like you.' He's known me for ten years, so that was good to hear."

Look to the north – your new favorite singer-songwriter is coming to a town near you, once more. He has a voice of a peculiar angel, soft as a kiss, which has the ability to warm the coldest of hearts. He is Teitur (Tie-tor) Lassen, a man from the Faroe Islands who turns music into magic beautifully and effortlessly.

In 2002, Teitur was signed by the legendary Doug Morris to Universal Records in the US. And in 2003, Teitur released his first album, Poetry & Aeroplanes. Its simple, sincere songs made it a critical hit. He toured the USA and Canada extensively, initially working the East coast, then slowly building audiences all over North America, performed on chat shows, live radio sessions, was featured on MTV's You Hear It First, VH1 and CNN, watched as his songs got snapped up for film soundtracks (My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Aquamarine), and attracted the attention of respected singer-songwriters like Rufus Wainwright, Aimee Mann and John Mayer, all of whom took him on tour, from theatres to a large arena tour with Mayer.

In 2006 Teitur left Universal. He and his manager started their own label, and called it Arlo and Betty Recordings (after his two guitars). He released his second album Stay Under The Stars in the same year, a record full of richer writing and bolder characters, which went Gold in Denmark, spawning the huge radio hit "Louis Louis," and established him as a major star in Scandinavia and built his reputation across Continental Europe.

In 2007, Teitur also fulfilled a lifetime ambition by releasing an album in his mother tongue, Kata Hornid, before beginning work in late that year on The Singer, recorded in a Swedish Princess's house in Gotland, released in 2008 in Europe and early 2009 in the UK, his first album to be issued in Britain.

The Singer garnered five star reviews in the UK in The Guardian ("deep, viscous stuff that is never less than extraordinary") and The Independent ("a rare beast"), while the Sunday Times praised the singer-songwriter's "wonderfully idiosyncratic talent".

Then, in October 2009, the UK only release album All My Mistakes, a kind of ‘introduction to/best of' took us through the last seven years of Teitur's glittering career and revealed the marvellous jewels from his back catalogue. Achieving his second Album of The Week in The Independent, Andy Gill wrote of the album: "…there's more than enough evidence here to bear out Teitur's assertion, in the title-track, that 'all my mistakes have become masterpieces' ".

This show will take place at
The Hamilton in Washington, DC Tyler Hilton + Ryan Cabrera + Teddy Geiger (at The Hamilton)

Three stand-outs from the singer-songwriter world on tour together: Ryan Cabrera (platinum singles "On The Way Down", "True", "Shine On"), Teddy Geiger (platinum single "For You I Will", star of the film "The Rocker") & Tyler Hilton (star of CW's "One Tree Hill" & Oscar winning film "Walk the Line"). Performing their best loved songs, as well as new material, in an intimate, acoustic setting.

TYLER HILTON
Before Tyler Hilton wrote the songs that appear on his new album The Storms We Share he had never written anything but love songs. "It's not that I was uninterested in things other than love, but it was love that made me want to write songs," the 26-year-old singer, songwriter, and guitarist says. Which would have been fine except that Hilton had been working on a new album for three years and had already scrapped hundreds of songs that he didn't consider good enough. Uninspired, he was having a hard time motivating himself to keep going.Hilton moved to Los Angeles and released a self-titled independent album in 2000. He also indulged his other passion, acting, by appearing in The CW's One Tree Hill and the indie cult favorite Charlie Bartlett, and playing Elvis Presley in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. (Hilton's songs have been included on the Grammy Award-winning Walk the Line soundtrack and on all three of One Tree Hill's popular soundtracks.) Hilton signed with Maverick Records and released The Tracks Of Tyler Hilton in September 2004.

The album entered The Billboard charts in the Top 10 (#8), winning "Best Album Of The Year" at the Annual Musiqtone Awards. Jammin’ Java’s GOOD VIBES New Years Eve Party Fest featuring Three Legged Fox

General Admission (includes concert and champagne toast)

VIP (includes reserved seat in VIP area, no lines, dedicated wait staff, champagne toast)

Three Legged Fox released Always Anyway in summer of 2011. Since then they have committed to bringing their live show and message to every city in the United States, including a current nine week Spring/Summer tour. An informal entry into national touring has afforded the band the opportunity to travel and play in many places they thus far have never been. Always Anyway marked a couple milestones for the band including a #2 chart spot on iTunes Reggae, and is the band's bestselling album to date. More importantly is the ability to play 150-200 shows this year. "We've gotten email, or fan mail…whatever you want to call it, from people for years from so many different places that we couldn't get ourselves to. And so to have the chance to do that now is really a blessing. Music is fan driven, it has to be. The fans that we have, their support and loyalty is never lost on us. We appreciate it tremendously," explains drummer Kory Kochersperger.

Natalie York

"Vienna's Natalie York is on the rise." Washingtonian

"This Vienna native has got the voice, songwriting ability and know-how to make it big. With the release of her first album at the age of only 21, she is quickly crooning her way toward a bright future in the music industry." Northern Virginia Magazine

Natalie York is a singer/songwriter who combines the sass of the Stax soul sound and the sensitivity of contemporary folk to produce viscerally romantic songs to tug at your heartstrings and haunt your dreams. Her debut album, "Threads," was named one of the best local releases of 2010 by The Washington Post, which highlights Natalie's "soulful and warm vocals" and "sophisticated palette." Drawing comparisons to Grace Potter, Corinne Bailey Rae, Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt and even Janis Joplin, Natalie's music proves to be something very special all her own. This 22-year-old sensation is a graduate of the University of Miami, where she studied jazz and was the first graduate from the Bruce Hornsby Creative American Music Program. She has performed and worked with Grammy winners Jonny Lang, Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, Lamont Dozier, Jim Lauderdale, Jon Secada and Phil Ramone.

KAYTE GRACE
Singer/songwriter Kayte Grace's music is an explosion of folk, blues, pop and rock, held together by warm-voiced, sing-along-able melodies and rich, resonant lyrics. The Washington Post called Kayte a "talented musician" who "writes great pop songs with smart lyrics and a country feel" and declared the "Written On" album (featuring Kayte's 5 time Grammy Award winning cousin Victor Wooten) an "impressive debut." Her fans call her "delightful," "genreless" and "refreshing." At the heart of Kayte's music is the desire for true community – community that is felt in that moment when you can't help but sing along, and when you hear your deepest heart cry articulated back to you in the lyrics of a song, and especially in the moments spent right after the show, meeting and laughing and grabbing a bite to eat with fans and friends who came to see her perform. It's about community. And storytelling. The audiences of her live shows feel it.

Only three years after first picking up a guitar, Kayte Grace has been featured not only by The Washington Post, but also by YouTube, The Augusta Chronicle, NBC and ABC in Georgia, Columbia Spectator, Ivy League Christian Observer and Washingtonian Magazine. She has more than 650,000 views on her YouTube videos, has released 3 albums, launched a 130 station college radio campaign, performed at NYC venues like The Bitter End and Sidewalk Café, went on a seven-city tour of the South (2009), performed during SXSW at Red Gorilla Music Fest (Austin, Tx) and released a full album (Written On) in May 2010. Most recently, Kayte organized, booked and self-promoted a 20 city, 22 show cross country tour (2010) promoting "Written On". During the tour she performed live with her legendary bassist cousin, Victor Wooten and filmed a music video. Her songs have been featured in two independent films. A Screen Actors Guild member, Kayte has acted professionally for over fifteen years, landing roles in national commercials and in television shows like Law & Order: SVU, HBO's The Wire, and Gossip Girl.

The Dinobabies

"Corey Gray and the Dinobabies is a lyrical bro band from Alexandria, Virginia. In addition to the band's several concrete musicians, the Dinobabies is also about the integration of their large friend and fan base. Listeners can hear songs featuring solos from the Dinobabies friends from time to time; in other words CG and the DB will keep you guessing, and will most definitely keep you entertained. The struggles, issues, and comedic anecdotes you will hear derive from the Babies young adult lives transpiring before us. As most of their followers are highschoolers and college goers, the DBabes ground their listeners to a place far less chaotic than the increasingly serious and real world in which they live. The Dinobabies lives may be changing, and yours may be too, but one thing remains the same with these youngsters: the music within." – Nathan Lord

Official Site | Facebook | iTunes | Eric Scott

Washington, D.C. area musician Eric Scott has to date enjoyed a varied and interesting musical journey. As a touring bassist and vocalist, Scott has performed on numerous stages throughout Europe, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and the entire United States. While building his reputation as one of the area's most sought after sidemen & session players, Scott wrote and released three solo records, DIVINE STATIC (1999), LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE FOOLS (2002), and RED (2007), to critical acclaim. The journey continues with Scott's fourth release WHERE THE WATER RUNS DEEPEST (May 2012) on the Itzall Goode Music label (Indie). DEEPEST further explores the neo-soul, funk, and pop influences of RED…but Scott's sound continues to evolve. It is no less confessional than RED…maybe even more so…and is even more personal and intimate with it's stripped down production and arrangements. While the performances are first rate, this release is all about the songs and the voice; and they are wrapped in a sheerer, warmer, acoustic package.

It’s a Fu@*in SUPER bob Christmas

"Going to a SUPER bob show is like getting on a f'ing roller coaster, they rock your ass off and you can't wait to get back on." -Whitney (On Air personality) DC 101

SUPER bob is a four-piece high energy rock band based in the Washington DC area. Childhood friends Adam Smith (guitar) and Matt Santoro (vocals) formed the band, under the name "bob" in ‘05 with the vision of bringing something fresh to a rock scene that seemed to have forgotten what rock n roll was really about. Soon after, they added Drew Recny (bass) and Chris Faircloth (drums). This band breathes rebellious authenticity back into music and reminds you that rock music is supposed to make you get up and not give a damn about being you.

When you see SUPER bob live your senses will be overwhelmed by a borderline excess of stage presence and heart pounding sound. P.R.S sponsored guitarist Adam Smith brings a package of uniqueness, flare, and pure adrenaline that is rarely found in any one musician, while classically trained Drew Recny packs a clean, punchy bass style that is loaded with obvious talent and a technique that only comes with full dedication and commitment to his craft. Christopher Faircloth, a Spaun Drum Company sponsored drummer, brings an almost indescribable style to the table, one with high flying stick tricks, and hard pounding, ear deafening, strong beats. The proverbial icing on the SUPER bob cake is provided by Matt Santoro's vocals which can only be described as unabashedly his own. Full of ear catching melodies, unapologetic and blatantly honest lyrics, and a flow that is uncommon yet undeniably at home in rock, Santoro's songwriting couples with an unrivaled stage presence that caps off one of the best live bands you will ever get the chance to experience.

SUPER bob's buzz was established with their eye catching live shows, non-stop hustle, and no excuses work ethic. Tattoos, colored hair, dread locks, and plenty of good old fashioned rock n roll grit distinguishes them from the undedicated and identifies them as the real deal in an industry riddled with fakers. After three years of hard work at gaining recognition, winning the loyalty of fans in their local scene, and growing a fan-base across the Mid-Atlantic, SUPER bob hooked up with Grammy nominated producer Garth "GGGarth" Richardson. They went to Vancouver BC to record their first full length record entitled "bbbob" and then hit the road for the next three years playing an average of 130 shows annually over a span of 19 states.

"I have seen over 7,500 bands in the last fifteen years, and SUPER bob is one of the best. Never have I seen a band gain fans so quick and rock it on stage with such energy. They will woo grandmas to teenies" -Mick Minchow Owner/ Booking Agent/ Promoter – Ground Zero-Spartanburg SC

Good For The Jews: Putting The Ha! In Hanukkah Tour feat. Rob Tannenbaum + David Fagin

They've appeared on "The Today Show" and on NPR (twice, even), and have played in rock clubs and synagogues, at the Boston Jewish Film Festival and the Brown University Hillel, the Kansas City JCC and the historic Sixth & I Synagogue in D.C., as well as the Leeds (U.K.) International Jewish Arts Festival. They have an especially strong appeal with young Jews, though our following extends to anyone with an unorthodox sense of humor.

Rob was named one of "New York's Best Emerging Jewish Artists" by the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Time Out New York featured him in a cover story on "The New Super Jews," The New York Times included him in an article on "the Jewish hipster," and Heeb magazine elected him to their "Heeb 100," a list of "young, smart and innovative" Jews in the arts.

As evidence of Good For the Jews' fresh approach to Jewish music, we've amassed a huge press kit, where the words "hilarious" and "Jon Stewart" frequently appear.

Good For The Jews are a hilarious musical duo from NYC who have been profiled on NPR and appeared on "The Today Show."

Mixing music and comedy in an irreverent and unorthodox way, they sing about Passover, Jewish girls, and relatives who live in Florida.

Their vow: "No songs about dreidels. And no Israeli folk-dancing." Hear their songs at GoodForTheJews.net or MySpace.com/GoodForTheJews.

The words "hilarious" and "Jon Stewart" appear frequently in articles written about them:

"This is not your father's Judaism: Jews with an edge and proud of it." -Baltimore Jewish Times

"A hilarious musical act. Don't miss them." -National Public Radio

"The voice of the Jewish hipster movement." -UR Chicago

"Good For The Jews' have been called 'hilarious' from coast to coast." -Philadelphia Weekly

"Like Sarah Silverman and Jon Stewart, this show is wickedly hilarious." -Village Voice

When you listen to Aaron Crawford you're instantly struck; by his sound – part So Cal punk, part rockabilly, part rootsy troubadour, by his songwriting – honest, open and relatable, and by his obvious fearlessness to stand up for what he believes in, no matter what the cost. His desire for truth shows in the musical messages Crawford delivers in his songs. Not one to walk away from something he's passionate about, it motivates him to hold the bar high for himself. A bold performer, who fronted punk scenesters Rude Buddha, he stops at nothing to achieve his goal. "I'm inspired by any story, or person who has had to fight to get what they have, and lives with no regrets."

In February 2011, Aaron entered Hollywood Sound Recorders, a Los Angeles based studio with Producer/Percussionist Larry Ciancia, who's studio and performance credits include artists like Ben Taylor, Fiona Apple, Everlast, Ray LaMontagne, Carly Simon and Herbie Hancock. Ciancia's first task was getting a band around Aaron to compliment his diverse writing style. In doing so he enlisted the help of guitarist Joel Shearer (Alanis Morrisette, Pedestrian, Dido) to engineer and perform on the record as well as keyboardist Adam Macdougall (The Black Crowes, Macy Gray) to fill out the recordings, giving them a vintage rock sound full of life, character, and soul. Ken Barnum, D.C. punk bassist, engineer and good friend of Aaron's was also brought on to fill out this incredible studio band. During a short pre-production period, Ciancia had Aaron co-write with a few different writers including '09 Grammy winner Joshua Lopez on a song called "Next to You", an energetic "Clash" style number that Aaron fell in love with the moment he heard it. Then the group hit the studio. The recording sessions, described by Aaron as "magical and memorable" proved amazing, cranking out 5 completed songs in 4 days of tracking! Shortly after, Shawn Everett was brought on to mix. Shawn, best known for his work with Weezer, Jakob Dylan and Pete Yorn, brought out the best in the recordings, which can be heard throughout the LA sessions. "Bad Habit" which has enough back to be appreciated by even the most hardcore rapper, is a song of revelation and realization, discussing the age old topic; "Is it the sex or the person?" The track slams throughout, moving from hip danceable verses, to huge pop choruses, while "Don't Stop" and "Let Go" show the honesty, and relate ability of a good song, discussing topics of believing in someone, and moving on. Of the newly recorded numbers, "Breathe" is the most intimate, explaining that music is Aaron's home, and through music he is never without shelter. Adam MacDougall's performance on the grand piano in "Breathe", turns this song into a beautiful ballad reminiscent of early Elton John that will take your breath away.

Aaron then headed home and combined these recordings, with recordings from late 2010, which includes the songs, "Sick Sick Love", a grungy brit-rock banger discussing the topic of using sex as a weapon to elevate, and rise above drama, "Black White Radio", which asks the question "should I waste my time on MTV"? And Locket, a mysterious Latin influenced punk song about a key and lock Aaron wears around his heart to complete the yet to be released album, "The Wager". Brian Lucey, who received a Grammy for his work with The Black Keys in 2011, was brought on to master and complete the record. Bratty at times, honest and direct at others, "The Wager" truly encompasses Aaron's wont back down spirit and showcases his ability with maturity and swagger. Song writing is Aaron's base, on some tracks beautiful and gentle, on others combative and belligerent, but never hiding behind a mixed message. With Aaron Crawford, what you hear is what you get.

• First come, first seated Winterbloom: Holiday Traditions Rearranged w/ Meg Hutchinson

Winterbloom is a collective of four successful, internationally touring singer-songwriters – Antje Duvekot, Anne Heaton, Meg Hutchinson, and Natalia Zukerman. While carving their own paths in indie Folk, Americana, Pop and Singer-Songwriter music, each have celebrated one another's accomplishments on the road, and fostered the spirit of collaboration back at home (at one time they all lived in Boston – Anne is now in Chicago, Natalia in Brooklyn).

One magical show in December 2008 moved them tour together in 2009 as "Winterbloom" with a winter/holiday album they wrote and recorded called "Winterbloom: Traditions Rearranged." On their first tour in 2009, they played select shows in the US in the Northeast, Midatlantic and Midwest regions including performing live at Folk Alley, Mountain Stage and First Night Boston. They received rave reviews of both the fresh new recordings and moving live concerts, prompting them to reunite in the summer of 2010 for the Boston Music Festival and Lilith Fair. Last winter, they brought their holiday show to Antje's homeland Germany and also played in The Netherlands. This summer they are pleased to announce that they will be a part of Cayamo 2012.

Last year in the US only, Winterbloom released a new holiday album and developed a live show, tailored for winter season. The 8-song EP/album they wrote and recorded together is called "Winterbloom: Traditions Rearranged." On the album and in the show, they perform new arrangements of traditional holiday songs alongside their own originals and special winter/holiday songs they wrote just for this project. The show plays on elements of their different backgrounds – German, American, Jewish, Unitarian, Christian, Catholic, Northeastern, Midwestern, Urban, Rural, Religious, Secular, Academic, etc… They celebrate not just religious traditions, but also seasonal caroling and family gathering traditions. Witty, intimate, thoughtful, fun.

ANTJE DUVEKOT
“ranks with the most intense and beautiful singer songwriters on the planet” -Dave Marsh, former Music Editor, Rolling Stone
Antje Duvekot was born in Heidelberg Germany. At the age of 13, she moved to Wilmington, Delaware with her mother. She could barely speak English and found solace in the music of folksingers like John Gorka, Ellis Paul and Cheryl Wheeler. She remembers how much she loved singing German folk songs in school. She pays tribute to her German heritage with her new arrangement of “Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht (Silent Night)” which she sings with Meg Hutchinson. Duvekot is currently in the thick of the release of her new album “The Near Demise of the High Wire Dancer” produced by Richard Shindell.

ANNE HEATON
“tender, amusing, barbed and spiritual” -The Washington Post
Native of Wilmette Illinois, near Chicago, Anne Heaton and her brothers were raised Catholic and always went to mass on Christmas Eve. While Heaton still draws on what she learned, and is particularly inspired by mystics such as St. Teresa of Avila, she considers herself a more generally spiritual person as an adult. Her vibey, upbeat holiday song “As You Are” focuses on authentic relationships and seeing people as they are, right now, in this moment. Heaton’s new release “Blazing Red” was called “absolutely gorgeous” by the New York Times online and was featured on NPR’s “Here And Now” Program. She is currently working on “Life Is Alchemy,” a project that tells the transformational stories of people of diverse cultures and experiences through original songs.

MEG HUTCHINSON
“A master of introspective ballads” -Performing Songwriter
Born in the Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts, Meg Hutchinson and her sisters were raised to believe that church can also be found on a walk in the woods, or hidden in a good poem. This reverence for language and the natural world is always in her songwriting. At the holidays, Hutchinson family rituals included singing and reading stories and prayers from many different faiths. It’s no surprise that when asked to write a song for the holidays this year, Hutchinson drew upon the O. Henry story “The Gift of the Magi” for inspiration. Hutchinson has been touring in support of her new album “The Living Side,” on Red House Records.

NATALIA ZUKERMAN
“bluesy folk-rock tunes, burnished croon, serious guitar chops” -TimeOut NY
Natalia Zukerman grew up in New York City. She refers to herself as being “culturally Jewish,” a distinction that belies that fact that while not observant, she holds certain Jewish traditions dear – food, candles, gatherings, prayers, and most of all music. Zukerman’s new modern spin on the traditional Yiddish song “Tumbalalaika” introduces the four voices of Winterbloom and epitomizes what the album project was all about – taking tradition and making it brand new again. Zukerman also painted the album cover art. In follow up to her recent album “Brand New Frame” produced by Willy Porter, Zukerman’s next release “Gas Station Roses” is anticipated for February 2010.

Marah Presents Mountain Minstrelsy

Core members of the rock n roll band Marah (David Bielanko & Christine Smith) have musically directed an album of lost and forgotten folk songs collected in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania (circa 1850-1910) The writing was admittedly fragmented and inaccurate thus giving the two complete liberty in re-inventing, re-imagining and re-working each "song" back to life as a rambling, ramshackle collection of rocking folk music. It was simply there to be done.

The Mountain Minstrelsy band was culled from a small Pennsylvania town called Millheim and features a nine year old fiddle prodigy Augustus Tritsch (Gus!) Together the six piece band creates a big old fashioned sound while continuing to employ Dave & Christine's Rock n Roll learnings…banjos, fiddles, pump organ, upright bass etc. You're prolly gonna wanna see this.

The Dangerous Summer

Straightforward, earnest rock music seems to be a contradiction from the direction popular music has strayed as of late. The need for genuine lyrics, purposeful direction and accessible melodies has been long overdue. The Dangerous Summer have crafted a throwback to the days when music was charged with hope and contained a much-needed brand of sincerity. As Payne recalls, The Dangerous Summer's first NYC show was held in a bar basement, and included an audience of five. But for this collection of friends who'd been toiling away in the band since high school, these were simply the dues of an ambitious group of musicians. And that low attendance record soon became a thing of the past once Hopeless Records came calling, finding the band's quintessential rock pleasers just as inviting and impressive as those hometown patrons. Since then, the band has made amazing strides and gained thousands of fans. They have just released their 2nd full length studio follow up album to " Reach For The Sun" entitled "War Paint". The album has been receiving amazing reviews from fans and critics which solidified the band as one to watch for.

YOUNG STATUES
In the winter of 2010, a spontaneous trip to Athens, GA became the birth of New Jersey/Philadelphia indie-rock outfit Young Statues. The record first began to take shape at Chase Park Transduction Studios, where a series of songs were recorded between friends, songs that were initially never intended to be released. Intrigued by the results of these sessions, songwriter and vocalist Carmen Cirignano decided to continue working on them with longtime producer and engineer Steve Poponi at the Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, NJ. It was here, with the help of bassist Tom Ryan and drummer Daniel Bogan, that these songs were transformed into the impressive debut record for a band comprised of longtime friends in the Philadelphia area music scene. Full of swelling guitars, intricate vocal melodies and introspective lyrics, "Young Statues" is evidence of a group of musicians who have honed their skills and made a record to be revered for its beauty, tact, and honesty.

THE RELAPSE SYMPHONY
The Relapse Symphony is a band with no rules. They shun the notion of needing to be easily definable and prefer to let the music do the talking. Their sound is that of angst driven rock with a slicker, sharper edge. Their lyrics explore themes of self reliance, and finding the strength within yourself to take chances and break all of the rules. Their debut EP sees the band infusing their infectious melodies with a glimpse of the darker side of rock and roll, openly embracing their influences along the way.

Sub-Radio Standard

The myth of the phoenix, which ignites and is reborn from its own ashes, seems to have been written for Sub-Radio Standard. Not only were they themselves formed from the disparate pieces of former bands, but their music explores that same theme; finding ecstatic highs out of the shuddering lows of life, brought out by thundering crescendos and a spirit of catharsis. With distinctively powerful vocals and focused songwriting beyond their years, Sub-Radio Standard is bringing a rebirth to the standard pop rock song.

Matt Prodanovich (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and John Fengya (Keyboard/Guitar) had been experimenting with melodies and riffs since 2005; but there's only so much ground to cover with two guitarists and no rhythm section. Multi-instrumentalist Michael Pereira, with the talent to be a third guitarist, instead became a self-taught drummer in 2008 and the group started to think of itself as a band. Adam Bradley (Lead Vocals) joined the group in 2010 after the briefest of solo careers (read: two YouTube videos) and the group found a musical niche, nestling in between the piano-driven alt-rock of Oasis ("I Am The Desert", "Interior Lighting") and the acoustic harmonies of Jack's Mannequin ("Nothing Wrong", "Amber"). With the addition of a crowd-pleasing bassist in Mark (Barry) Siford and a rhythm guitarist in Mike Chinen to plug gaps in their sound, SRS was suddenly overflowing with explosively catchy songs.

Their debut self-titled album, recorded with platinum-winning producer Jim Ebert and due for digital release this summer, is a testament to the band's rapid maturation. The band seems to shift between genres and arrangements effortlessly, all the while crafting a coherent sound. Songs like album closer "Interior Lighting" illustrate SRS's signature style: shimmering guitars, melodic piano, and instantly recognizable vocals, building to an explosive finish. Bradley's lyrics twist and turn, leaping from bright-eyed innocence to reflective cynicism: "Well the music's off and the fire's dead/But your song's still burning in my head". Slow-burning songs with dramatic emotional release; that's what Sub-Radio Standard is all about.

DAUGHTER OF STARS
Daughter of Stars' style echoes that of decades past where rock 'n roll was devoid of pretention and full of hopeful innocence. Thundering riffs are tempered with heartfelt songwriting and soaring harmonies fusing each song with a searing intensity. The band burst onto the DC scene in late 2011 when Billboard Award winning songwriter Nick Samuels, formerly of Numa, found an outlet for the raw rock sound he was envisioning in vocalist Devon, whose powerful bluesy wail has been compared to 70's rockers Ann Wilson and Janis Joplin. The quartet was rounded out by former One Third Dork drummer Jon Varga and bassist David Scherzinger who layed down the solid groove needed for the songs to take flight. Be sure to catch their next show and fall under the spell of the Daughter of Stars.

In addition to touring relentlessly and playing CMJ and SXSW festivals, the ambitious songwriter/multi-instrumentalist has earned enthusiastic reviews from PopMatters, VH1, Huffington Post, NPR, The Atlantic, the NY Deli, the Village Voice and more for her commanding voice, deft guitar playing and electrifying live shows. With a rapidly growing fan base and more touring on the horizon, Kaye shows no signs of slowing down, picking up steam even before she leaves the ground.

JAY STOLAR is on a journey. With an exceptional voice, infectious melodies, and honest lyrics, the New Jersey born artist has become a respected member of the NYC music scene. After writing hundreds of songs and delivering thousands of performances, he has truly arrived at a signature sound. Playing over 500 shows internationally, having a charted single on FMBQ, multiple appearances at SXSW and CMJ, winning national contests and, most importantly, building a musical relationship with the members of the band. Everything culminated at CMJ In October 2011 when top audio engineer, Ari Raskin (Robin Thicke, One Republic, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West), came to one of Jay's shows at Rockwood Music Hall. Jay's band that night was comprised mostly of former members of Julius C, and the chemistry impressed Raskin. He immediately offered to record the band at Downtown Records Studio in NYC, which led to the recording of a 4-track EP to be released in Spring 2012. Jay Stolar, along with that same band, is played several showcases at SXSW this year.

The band's song "Echo" was included on Paul Frank's Academy of Awesome compilation (released Thanksgiving, 2011) and was listed as one of the Top 10 Songs of 2011 by DC 101′s "Local Lix" radio program. Will Hoge: Let Me Be Lonely Tour 2012

Will Hoge has made a career of writing and singing powerful songs about life's cruel and dark turns. Not long ago, he fell victim to one such turn. As Hoge rode his scooter home from the studio, he was struck by an oncoming van that had veered into his lane. There were no skid marks. Launched off his bike, Hoge ended up bloodied, broken-boned, temporarily blinded, and near death.

"[The accident] was like stopping a record as it spins," says Hoge, who had been halfway through recording material for his new record before getting derailed. "It was like taking the needle and pushing it off the turntable."

For ten months, the accident sidelined Hoge. For ten months, it made him do something he hadn't done in 18 years: stop the music. Larger matters dominated his life, like physical recovery and the well-being of his family. "People would say, ‘I bet you're ready to get back to playing and writing.' I'm thinking, ‘Playing or singing is not the issue right now. I'm ready to get back to walking.'"

ERICK BAKER
If you listen closely, you can hear a heartbeat in the songs of Erick Baker. A warm familiar pulse of love and loss echoing from somewhere just under the surface. Written with unguarded lyrical honesty, Erick's songs are passionate confessions that reflect many of our own deeply rooted emotions and secrets. Since releasing his debut EP, It's Getting Too Late To Say It's Early, in 2008, Erick's powerful voice and deeply personal songwriting style have led listeners through music rich with themes central to the emotional cornerstones of their lives. And recently, the message of Erick's music has quickly started to spread. Astonishingly, it wasn't until after college graduation that Erick, a small town Tennessee native, first picked up a guitar. In the smoky corners of Knoxville's pub and bar scene, Erick taught himself to play and sing. His talent became quickly evident, and he soon found himself opening for John Legend. Since, Erick has been invited to perform with an impressive array artists, including James Blunt, Gavin Degraw, Edwin McCain, the Goo Goo Dolls, Grace Potter, Brandi Carlisle and Heart. There is an underlying heartbeat in the songs of Erick Baker, and it is quickly growing stronger. Listen closely….can you feel it?

The Apache Relay

The Apache Relay was formed by chance in a Nashville college dorm when Michael Ford Jr. (vocals, bass) met Mike Harris (guitar, vocals). Ford Jr. happened to be looking for some musicians to help perform his own music live, when he heard about Harris’ newly formed band, The Apache Relay. Ford Jr. hired the trio, which also included Brett Moore (keys, guitar, mandolin) and Kellen Wenrich (fiddle), to back him at a show and it was immediately evident that the four musicians had a unique chemistry and were on to something special.

The four-piece released their debut LP titled 1988 in 2009. Produced by Doug Williams, (renowned for his authentically raw approach with the Avett Brothers) the record was lauded by Paste Magazine as one of “The Eight Most Auspicious Musical Debuts of 2009”. The band’s ability to effortlessly blend acoustic sounds with ferocious rock anthem elements only hinted at the band’s capabilities.

Capitalizing on the initial success of their debut with relentless touring, The Apache Relay honed their sound and released their sophomore album American Nomad in April 2011, in the US, via indie stalwart Thirty Tigers. Produced by Neilson Hubbard, the collection of modern roots-rock tracks encompassed the eclectic range of influences the band meshed so well; a tinge of Bad Brains, some Suzuki training, jazz lessons, a lot of Beatles’ listening, a knowledge of traditional mountain music, a worship of Phil Spector and the love for the complex but accessible layers of bands like Arcade Fire. A few months later, Ford Jr.‘s brother, Ben, joined the band as rhythm guitarist and supporting vocalist. The brothers had been harmonizing and playing together since the age of 12 and 13, so it was a natural fit.

Since the release of American Nomad, The Apache Relay, who round out their live show with the addition of drummer Aaron Early, have continued their regiment of non-stop touring, amassing a fervent fanbase and performing over 100 dates in 2011 alone, including coveted spots opening for Grammy nominated Mumford & Sons, and a breakout performance at Bonnaroo Music Festival. 2012 will see the band continue to tour in support of American Nomad including stops at SXSW, Canadian Music Fest, and Newport Folk Festival. The band’s first Canadian release, American Nomad EP, will be available through Dine Alone Records on March 13, 2012. The EP includes selected tracks from the band’s previous US full-length release.

“They’ve got kind of an Arcade Fire meets boys raised on gospel and Bruce Springsteen approach to what they do, and they’re called The Apache Relay. They’re a fantastic live band.” – Huffington Post

“The Apache Relay’s second album, American Nomad, is an excellent effort from a musically skilled group with evident appreciation for the rich, layered brand of American rock ‘n’ roll that pays homage to the road…” – Indie Shuffle

Fistful of Fifties

Formed in the Fall of 2004, Fistful of Fifties has been rocking the Northern VA, DC and Maryland area with their familiar but unique sound. Their high energy songs have been influenced by 90's alternative rock bands such as Nirvana, Cake, Staind and Foo Fighters. Joe Achtzener (bass), Matt Matis (vocals/guitar), Josh Pearson (drums) and David Saylor (guitar/vocals) combine catchy lyrics, melodic vocals, killer guitar solos, mind blowing bass licks and monster drumming to create what has been deemed "the up-and-coming sound of what has come to be expected in the clubs of Arlington and Fairfax counties" (Burke Connection) Not a band to let their influences put a strong hold on their music, Fistful of Fifties are continuously writing new songs ranging from the occasional softer ballad to hard rock, allowing enough diversity for their on stage antics to reach every type of fan.

Official Site | Twitter | Facebook | iTunes | YouTube Overdrive Superthruster

OVERDRIVE SUPERTHRUSTER (ODST) is a Virginia based group playing a unique brand of heavy pop rock originals. Songs are massive combining heavy guitars, shot-gun drums, extraordinary bass lines, endless harmonies, and unforgettable hooks. Influences are varied (Stones, JET, Foo, Queen, QOTSA, Zeppelin, Beatles) but not overt or overdone as each song is performed via the musical talents of four very different rock and roll souls – from a Berklee trained bass player and trumpet-trained lead guitar player, to a self-taught country picker and a drummer from a marching band. This rare mix of rock'n'rolla's produces powerful tracks that give listeners' multiple influences in every song. The band's first studio album, Stay Gold Sessions (available @ iTunes and CD Baby), was a stripped down, self-produced affair recorded live in early 2007 in an attempt to capture the band's raw energy and pop hooks. Stay Gold Sessions was followed up by multiple live performances including the 2008 and 2009 Shamrock Festivals in Washington DC (DC area's biggest St. Patrick's Day Festival). After more live performances in the summer of 2009, the boys put touring on hold to record their second album. The new record, Raven Nevermore, is out now (CDBABY.com) and features 11 critically acclaimed original rock and roll tracks.

The Kennedys

The story of Pete and Maura Kennedy's personal and professional relationship, now in its second decade, is somewhere between fate and a fairytale. How else can you explain a chance meeting in Austin between two East Coast-born musicians that immediately sparked a songwriting collaboration, a first date at Buddy Holly's grave, an enduring romance, and a creative partnership that radiates warmth, positive energy, and captivating music?

In 1992, Virginia native Pete Kennedy was playing a solo show at Austin's Continental Club on a brief sabbatical from his duties as country-folk singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith's lead guitarist when he met former Syracuse, NY, resident Maura Boudreau, enjoying a night off from performing with her own country-rock band, The Delta Rays. The duo "instantly connected on a soul level, or maybe even something deeper," according to Pete. They wrote their first song together the following day before Pete returned to the road, and rendezvoused ten days later at mutual hero Buddy Holly's grave in Lubbock, Tex., 500 miles equidistant between them. And that's how it started . . .

After Pete and Maura's fateful 1992 meeting (the subject of their first Appleseed CD's title song, "Half a Million Miles") and several years of touring and recording with Nanci Griffith, the duo seceded amicably from Griffith's Blue Moon Orchestra and became The Kennedys, recording CDs that encompass their favorite musical styles while incorporating naturalistic, transcendental and mythological concepts into their songs and lives.

With the release of their tenth CD as The Kennedys and recent CDs by their Strangelings and Stringbusters side projects, as well as two new solo recordings (Pete Kennedy's "Guitarslinger", and Maura's debut solo CD, "Parade of Echoes" added to their discography, Pete and Maura remain the Energizer bunnies of the folk/rock world. Their touring schedule makes Bob Dylan seem lazy – they've played about 1500 gigs in the last 12 years, everywhere from house concerts to major festivals, and have recently rejoined Nanci Griffith's tour as part of her band and as her opening act in theatres and festivals around the world.

Roaring out of the southern Indiana foothills comes Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band… playing a brand of Americana and Blues that stands alone. Delta blues and hillbilly fervor combine with musical acuity sharp as razor wire… You'd best know… this trio is a force to be reckoned with! The growl of a good truck engine, the fiercest passion for country, home, and family, and an uncanny ability to breathe new life into old forms of music give them a pedigree many Americana acts would kill for. An ironclad work ethic keeps them on the road 250 dates a year. The Rev. J. Peyton, his wife Breezy and distant cousin Aaron "Cuz" Persinger are a living, breathing embodiment of the traditions native to their Brown County, Indiana home. Their brand new fifth album, Between The Ditches, is a chronicle of this lifestyle.

WHITEY MORGAN & THE 78'S
Whitey Morgan and the 78's are a Honky Tonk band from Flint, Michigan. They haven't re-invented the wheel, they just picked it up and started it rolling all over again. In Flint, the factories are closed, jobs are scarce and the people are bitter. Whitey sings songs these people can relate to. In much the same way his grandfather and mentor did over 3 decades ago, to a whole generation of southern transplants who came up to Flint looking for the good life. In the spirit of William Morgan, Waylon, Merle and Paycheck; Whitey's melodies help people forget their problems for a few hours and serve as the guideline for drinking sorrows away. The 78's halftime groove brings out everyone's dancing shoes and while Whitey and the 78's play, the world is a better place. Emerging from the Detroit area music scene, re-creating a forgotten genre for the area, Whitey Morgan and the 78's have toured the country spreading their sound and attitude everywhere they go. They play honky tonk tunes in any club in any town without apology-they drive their point home just like their families drove the cars they built on the line home from work. With a purpose.

Mama’s Black Sheep

FEATURING:

Mama’s Black Sheep is the musical collaboration of singer-songwriters Ashland Miller (guitar/vocals) and Laura Cerulli (drums/vocals). Touring together since 2008 and both veterans of the singer-songwriter circuit, Miller & Cerulli will make you feel like you’ve been listening to their music for years. On the heels of their well received 2010 debut recording Unmarked Highway, which was nominated for Best Debut Recording in 2010 by the Washington Area Music Assoc.(WAMA) along with the nomination of Mama’s Black Sheep for Best New Artist, comes Drivin’ On, the second release for Miller & Cerulli. “This project is for the fans” says Cerulli. “We wanted to create something interesting and fun that captures some of the energy from our live performances” adds Miller. Drivin’ On features nine originals and two covers, recorded at some of the duo’s favorite venues & festivals during 2011. Drivin’ On, typical of Mama’s Black Sheep, is an effortless blend of Blues, Country and Acoustic Rock. Miller & Cerulli are also joined on several tracks by accomplished Violinist Helen Hausmann, and throughout by Bassist and Recording Engineer Robin Elder.

Before Mama’s Black Sheep, Ashland toured for twelve years as part of the award-winning acoustic duo CommonbonD, releasing six CD's, performing on The Nashville Network (TNN), and showcasing their music in over forty states as well as overseas. Ashland's songwriting, harmonies, and creative musical arrangements have been shared on stage with talent such as John Mayer, Ritchie Havens, Catie Curtis, and Sophie B. Hawkins. Laura previously fronted her own band, Cerulean Groove. Since 2005 she has been touring nationally and internationally as a member of SONiA & disappear fear. Laura’s distinctive style has been appreciated everywhere from The Kerrville Folk Festival (TX), to The Barns at Wolftrap (VA), to the High Sierra Music Festival (CA), to The Red Roof Women’s Festival (Ontario), and even ‘down under’ at Woodford Folk Festival (AUS).

Together Miller and Cerulli create a unique tapestry of songs, weaving vibrant color and rich texture to create a dynamic conversation between guitar and percussion. Miller’s passionate voice will make you laugh, cry, feel inspired, and ultimately want more. And Bob Steel of Baltimore Out Loud writes “Cerulli opens her mouth and the world stands still as she wrings every drop of emotion out of the lyrics with her powerful, soaring voice, forged in the fire of the blues and tempered in the cool technique of her classical training."

For this special show at Jammin’ Java, they will be joined by bassist Robin Elder, and violinist Helen Hausmann.

An Intimate Acoustic Evening w/ Tyrone Wells

There's nothing quite like a fresh start.

Tyrone Wells' fourth full-length album, Where We Meet, ushers in a new beginning for the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter. Not only is it his first full-length release since leaving a major label, it signifies his next evolution. Embracing both sides of his sound, Wells seamlessly balances acoustic vulnerability and pop rock irresistibility over the course of eleven unforgettable anthems. Ultimately, Where We Meet is the perfect place for Wells to start anew while keeping the same ethic that has won him his loyal fan base from his early independent days.

The journey to Where We Meet actually began on the high seas in 2010. He was playing The Rock Boat, an annual floating festival that travels from Tampa, FL to Cozumel, Mexico. Out on the ship in the middle of the ocean, he had an epiphany. With two lauded major label releases under his belt-Hold On [2006] and Remain [2009]-and countless high-profile film and TV placements including American Idol, One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries, Rescue Me, Grey's Anatomy, My Sister's Keeper, Something Borrowed and more, Wells felt the urge to go independent again.

Free from any constraints, Wells started working on that "great record" by penning over 80 songs. In the middle of that process, he managed to release the digital EP, Metal & Wood in 2010. Metal & Wood spent nearly three weeks at #1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and debuted at #14 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Inspired immensely, he feverishly kept writing, experimenting, and pushing himself for almost two years. Taking his time in the studio, Wells worked diligently with two producers Thomas Doeve and Bill Lefler. The result is Where We Meet.

In some ways, Where We Meet brings Wells back to where it all began. Being independent again is like going back to his roots, except this time it is selling out venues, rather than coffee shops. He's carving his own path. "I'm not in music so I can get rich," he declares. "I have what I need and more. The aim for me isn't to get famous. The aim is to make great music that I can stand by." With his first baby on the way and Where We Meet dropping this spring, he certainly has a lot to stand by. Wells concludes, "I'm doing what I love and if my art resonates with other people, I'm happy. I love it when someone tells me that my music is the soundtrack to their lives. I hope I can continue to provide that."

Where We Meet is just the beginning…

Jessica Lea Mayfield & David Mayfield- The Sibling Rivalry Tour

Siblings and best friends Jessica Lea Mayfield and David Mayfield will tour together this winter, playing 13 shows in the eastern United States.

Growing up in Kent, Ohio, the Mayfields were surrounded by bluegrass and folk music.  Both David and Jessica first performed with their family band One Way Rider, traveling across the country in a 1956 tour bus once belonging to Bill Monroe, Kitty Wells, and Ernest Tubb.  David began performing at age 12, while Jessica joined a few years later at age 8.  Most of their time growing up was spent singing and absorbing the stories and lessons taught by veteran musicians.

By the time he was a teenager, David had won several national awards for his guitar and mandolin playing.  He showed Jessica how to play a few guitar chords, and then she began writing her own songs at age 11.  The two played open mic nights together, usually playing for tips.  Then David got his first big break when he successfully auditioned for country artist Andy Griggs, which led to David’s first appearance on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage.

When David was 21 and Jessica was 15, they recorded Jessica’s first EP White Lies in David’s bedroom, printing only 100 copies.  One of those copies fell into the hands of Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys).  After an introduction, Jessica and Auerbach hit the studio, laying the foundation for her debut album With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, on which David played bass.

Over the next two years, David continued to play bass with Jessica, as she toured incessantly in support of With Blasphemy, playing major festivals like Bonnaroo, and opening for bands like The Avett Brothers, with whom they forged a strong friendship.

During this time, David also toured as a vocalist, songwriter, and lead guitarist for the folk rock band Cadillac Sky, but it was while on the road with Jessica that the Avetts encouraged David to make a record of his own, and so he did.  David released his solo debut The David Mayfield Parade in 2011, which features songs co-written with Jessica, and vocals from Scott and Seth Avett.

Also in 2011, Nonesuch Records signed Jessica and released her second album Tell Me, also produced by Dan Auerbach.  The album received rave reviews from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, SPIN, and Pitchfork, among others, and led to Jessica’s network television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman.  Later that year, the Americana Music Association nominated Jessica as “Best New Artist.”

Now, with new albums on the horizon from both David and Jessica, the two siblings hit the road together again.

T. Hardy Morris
These songs were actually inspired by my honeymoon. My new bride and I had very little money to spend and I had coincidentally been asked by some friends in the band Bad Books to do a short tour in the Northeast, starting with a few days in NYC. I had never really played solo before, and certainly not in front of big crowds, but I had a handful of back-pocket songs and I knew that this was probabl
y our only way to have a honeymoon, so that is what we did. The shows went well, but I quickly realized that writing songs that can carry weight on their own, without a band in mind, takes a totally different approach. As soon as I got home, I wrote and demoed about 20 songs with that feel and idea in mind. Although I planned on having more instrumentation involved in the eventual recording of the songs, I wrote the initial songs as ones that could be played alone.

After several years of growing acclaim on the New York Americana scene, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Mary Bragg reached a peak in her early career last year when she attracted overflow crowds for a residency at NYC's famed venue The Living Room. Her latest recording, Tattoos and Bruises, grew out of that series of shows. Drawing comparisons to Patty Griffin and Mindy Smith, Bragg has come to inhabit her own unique fusion of American musical forms, clearly heard and felt on Tattoos and Bruises.

CARL ANDERSON
In August of 2011, 23-year-old Carl Anderson set out to fund his debut album through Kickstarter. As the days rolled by and the funding stalled out at less than a quarter of his stated goal, Carl’s “Dream Record” project seemed forever doomed to remain a dream. With 10 days and thousands of dollars to go, he was given the opportunity to promote his project on Charlottesville’s community radio station. After playing a handful of acoustic songs to a radio audience, his Kickstarter campaign gained new life. He raised a thousand dollars on that day and exceeded his fundraising goal 10 days later. Wolftown is the result of years of songwriting, heartbreak, and a nailbiter of a capital campaign. Carl Anderson threw his CD release party at The Southern Cafe and Music Hall in downtown Charlottesville, his first show as a headliner and his first sellout. Wolftown was met with immediate critical success. It was selected as CD of the Month for January, 2012 by Virginia’s WNRN FM.

The Souljazz Orchestra

Canada's hardest-working super-group, the Souljazz Orchestra, have been perfecting their signature sound for over a decade now: a percussive explosion of Soul, Jazz, Afro, Latin and Caribbean rhythms, driven by majestic horn-drenched melodies, all backed by an arsenal of overheated primitive keyboards.

The multicultural collective returns at full throttle this year with Solidarity, a dynamite new collaborative album released by UK-based Strut Records, featuring a range of unique artists connected to the group through Canada's vibrant underground scene, yet hailing from a variety of backgrounds, from Senegal to Brazil to Jamaica and beyond. These guests were the catalyst for memorable artistic exchange, where the group remained rooted in rhythmically rich musical traditions of the past, but kept their eyes firmly on the future, pushing the boundaries of Soul, Jazz and Tropical styles with a fresh set of heavyweight new songs, unified by an underlying message of positive social change.

Now celebrating their 10th year, the Souljazz Orchestra continue their impressive run of memorable albums. Breaking through on Toronto label Do Right!, Freedom No Go Die (2006, featuring the huge single ‘Mista President') and Manifesto (2008) set the bar high. Rising Sun (2010), their first album with Strut Records, was subsequently recognised as a landmark in deep, spiritual Afro Jazz. Meanwhile, as a live unit, years of relentless touring have formed the Ottawa-based combo into an in-demand fixture at venues and festivals worldwide.

HANDGUNS
Whats up we are a pop punk band from Harrisburg Pa. We believe in hard work and having fun. We don't have famous friends we are not critically acclaimed and no one in this band was ever in some famous band who's name we could drop or coat tail we could ride. But we will get up earlier than you and work longer and harder. That has to count for something. If it doesn't then at least we had a hell of a good time trying and made some amazing friends along the way.

The Last Bison

The Last Bison is anything but typical. The seven-member ensemble led by Ben has seemingly risen from the marshes of southeastern Virginia to captivate the national music scene with a rare blend of folk that is poetically steeped in classical influences. Band members describe the sound as "mountain-top chamber." Already the band has drawnflattering though imperfect comparisons to indie rock superstars the likes of Mumford & Sons, The Decemberists and Fleet Foxes. Flattering because each of those bands has carried folk rock into the main- stream; imperfect because none of them have a front man that shares the stage with his father and sister, nor uses a 75-year-old chaplain's pump organ and Bolivian goat toenails on stage. The Last Bison is a tight knit community of family and friends that boasts a sound all its own. The Last Bison's live shows transport audiences from urban music halls to another, less familiar, era. Rich melodies accent unabashedly spiritual lyrics. Traditional folk instruments resonate with unexpected arrangements -sharing the musical space with lush family harmonies, classical strings, and earthy percussion. Band members appear to have stepped out of an 18th century stagecoach. The look hints at the band's roots in colonial Virginia, while the sound transcends a defining era.

Tracy Grammer

Puchase advance tickets to receive an exclusive download from the latest Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer album.

Folk music authority Andrew Calhoun of Waterbug Records comments: "No one sings Dave Carter's songs better than Tracy. He chose her to be the voice of his songs. His vision, their vision, was that they shared something they both saw. She is half the reason why they were great."

Grammer is toured in support of FLOWER OF AVALON (Signature Sounds 2005), her much anticipated solo debut. In January 2006, that album showed up on "Best of" lists and listener polls around the country, and was the #1 most-played album on folk radio across the United States for 2005. We call this a triumph — a testament to the enduring appeal of Carter's songwriting, and a sign of good things to come for Grammer as she continues on her solo career. Flower of Avalon includes nine previously-unreleased songs by the late Dave Carter and one traditional tune, re-worked by Oregon professor Wm. Jolliff. Multi-tasking masterfully as co-producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Grammer digs deep into the spirit of Carter's poetic verses and haunting melodies to color each song with textures and flourishes that blur the boundaries of categorization. Paired with Grammer's voice — emotive, warm and versatile — the songs on Flower of Avalon are nothing less than visionary. Mary Chapin Carpenter sings harmony on three cuts and wrote the liner notes for the record. Carpenter writes, "Tracy's continuing quest to make sure that the world remembers Dave Carter marks a new beginning of artistry for her. We are lucky that she is so brave, generous and gifted." Flower of Avalon is produced by Grammer and John Jennings (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Indigo Girls).

Tracy Grammer tours internationally with songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jim Henry (Deb Talan, Mark Erelli, The Burns Sisters). With acoustic and electric guitars, beautifully matched voices, dobro, mandolin and violin, this duo shares original songs, instrumentals, and pays homage to Carter and other stellar writers while charting a brand new course for themselves in the musical landscape. Grammer says, "I'll keep on singing, and I'll keep on telling my story, however that evolves. Working with Dave Carter was the first step on what I hope is going to be a long and fruitful road for me: the endless quest for authenticity through music."

West End Motel (Brent Hinds of Mastodon)

West End Motel is a conglomerate of losers and poets and hobo-sexuals. Tom Cheshire met Brent Hinds in Atlanta on a corner under a bridge in 1993. They were panhandling and drinking cough syrup and songs just started spewing out of them. Songs were written on an acoustic guitar and a bucket for drums with the occasional toy piano in the background. Much booze was consumed and late nights turned in to early mornings. They write and sing for the underdog and give the listener a glimmer of hope. Originally the band wanted to sound like Simon and Garfunkel hanging out with Ethel Merman but the end result sounds more like Nick Cave fronting Gogol Bordello. The songs have taken on a life of their own and have never sounded the same twice. The music is honest, like a Filipino kid tap dancing in the wind. These men love music, it is that simple and they write for people who love music. They write songs of loss and laughter and maybe even a new lease on life. They are a gospel band, they are a soul band, they are a band of gypsies. Do yourself a favor and check this now.

RICER
Atlanta based Ricer return to the scene of the crime with their bigger & badder "XXX+SIZE", the follow-up to 2010's debut release "#2's". Are you ready? To prime you, lets have a quick history lesson. Ricer was formed in Atlanta in late 2009. Their current line-up consists of: Brandi Turner, the singer/slinger who can make both your eyes tear up & your ears bleed with one swoop of her six strin gs; Dallas Peavy, the cymbal smashing man crush of any number of Atlanta bands who can kill you with a wink of his eye; and Billy Duncan, the tattooed master of the four string who once made Judge Joe Brown beg for mercy. It was this lineup that made the Chinese officially change the year 2010 to the year of the "Ricer-Chicken" in honor of the cover star of their awe-inspiring debut. It's 2011 now and Ricer is set to unleash the follow-up that will make the whole world take notice, not just the Chinese. "XXX+SIZE" expands the Ricer sound while also refining it. From the poppy punk of Switch and Ladyfingers, (think of the band Ricer); to the otherworldly, almost film noirish One on One and Strangers, (not unlike a darker Ricer); to the neo-musique concréte UN/Terror Kids, (like Ricer collaborating with long time noise provocateur Sequence 3); to Bleeder, (think of Ricer crushing your soul & spirit then helping you up so they might crush your conception of listening to anything but Ricer); "XXX+SIZE" has, to borrow the motto of WREK's Destroy All Music, – "something for everyone". China got it in 2010, now 2011 will be the year of Ricer for the rest of the world. Are you ready? For the future? For the Mad, Heavy….HEAT!!

Contrary to today's music charts, Rock music is not dead! In fact it's alive and well and can be heard loud and clear on the upcoming Twenty12 Tribe album. CASTLE OF GENRE
Castle of Genre is an indie rock band based out of northern Virginia, consisting of 5 members. Despite their relatively young age, they bring a mature, well-crafted sound to the table that harkens back to a late 90's underground emo sound with walls of glistening tones, uninhibited by the usual overdriven tendencies of rock music. They may be young, but there's a spark of brilliance in their work that makes these kids worth paying close attention to.

@JamnJavaDoorGal’s LOCAL SCENE: Sam Grow

A musical jack-of-all-trades, pop-rock-soul singer songwriter Sam Grow is a skilled guitarist, pianist, bassist, and drummer.Throughout his childhood, Sam's father introduced him to great artists such as The Righteous Brothers, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, and Elvis Presley who would influence him throughout his musical career. After sensing his musical enthusiasm, Sam's family encouraged him to sing in their church choir-where he actively participated for several years. As Sam grew older he began to attend music festivals and taught himself to play not only the guitar- which would become his instrument of choice, but also educating himself on the piano, bass, and drums. Grow headed into the studio in late 2007 to record his debut album with producer Ron Vento [Wakefield, Good Charlotte, and Genuine]. That album, "Ignition," went on to sell approximately 10,000 copies in Sam's local market in one year, and was very well received amongst his fans, peers and press. After the independent success of his second release, a live album entitled "Live at Goose Creek", Sam returned to Nightsky Studios with Vento to record a series of songs that would later become the "Rainy Day in Paradise" and "Stay The Night" EP's. These highly anticipated recordings continue to highlight the strength and range in Sam's voice, complimented with his heartfelt lyrics. Grow released the singles "Lay You Down", and "Let's Make Love", which reached #13 and #7 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. Recently, Grow released the singles "Shot of Crown" and "Get Up" which reached #6 and #5 respectively on the same charts. These singles were released from the album "Reveal". "Reveal", as a whole record, charted at #11 on the Singer/Songwriter charts. Grow has already toured the U.S., having performed with Boston, Ronnie Dunn (Brooks and Dunn), The Wailers, Jeff Scott Soto [Journey], Josh Kelley, Tony Lucca, Sister Hazel, Kanye West, Bill Engvall, Keaton Simons and a number of the industries most well respected singer/songwriters, and continues to perform regularly with a schedule that consists of 250+ shows a year.

THE 27S
The 27's origins began in 2010 when guitarist/vocalist Adam Raley took a job in DC and migrated north from his native Louisiana where he left behind the comforts of playing in the highly successful Canvas Red. After months of scouring local musician ads he came across an ad guitarist Jim Connolly posted. Listing influences like the Replacements, The Clash and The Hold Steady, the ad seemed too good to be true. Jim, a veteran of the local DC scene (The Highballers, 69 A Go-Go), and Adam hit it off instantly. Sharing drinks at a local dive, they quickly bonded over their shared love of the many great power pop, indie, and rock and roll bands of the past 40 years. After a few false starts with drummers/bassists nearly derailed the project, Jim and Adam reconvened in early 2011 and went after it more determined than ever. They quickly roped in the rock solid rhythm section of drummer Ahmad Asi and bassist Soren Bakken (Helo) and dug in hard. Christened the 27's (after the countless music legends that have left us at that age) the four had an easy camaraderie and the original tunes came pouring out. Determined to capture the energy while still fresh, they opted to enter the studio before even playing a gig. Working with noted producer Don Zientara at Inner Ear studios, the 27's recorded 5 songs in the summer of 2011 that showcase their knack for catchy hooks and loud guitars.

Founded in the suburbs of Northern Virginia, The Downtown Fiction rose to national acclaim riding the currents of their captivating live shows and explosive anthems, "I Just Wanna Run" and "Thanks For Nothing," from the band's debut full-length album,Let's Be Animals. The band, comprised of Cameron Leahy (lead vocals, guitar), David Pavluk (bass, backing vocals), Wes Dimond (lead guitar) and Kyle Rodgers (drums), returns with its newest release, Pineapple EP, which displays sharpened hooks on songs like "Get It Right," while exploring new sonic territory and a driving ferocity on the tracks "Out In the Streets" and "Feeling Better."

Formed in 2008, Leahy met Pavluk at a local venue and shortly after decided to try their hand at playing music together. After posting their music online, they quickly garnered a rabid following which caught the attention of Photo Finish Records in 2009. The label would later sign the band and release their first official record, Best I Never Had EP. Wes Dimond (guitar) and Kyle Rodgers (drums) later joined in 2011, rounding out the lineup.

The band continued their evolution on Let's Be Animals, drawing from an eclectic pool of classic rock influences without losing any of the infectious melodicism and thoughtful lyricism that originally propelled them into the world of rock that matters. That balance between a raucous musical undercurrent and sharp pop bliss is immediately evident on the album's leadoff single, "I Just Wanna Run." The song has already dug itself into pop culture via high-profile placements on the second season premiere of MTV's The Jersey Shore as well as The Hard Times of RJ Berger, The Hills, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

After sharing bills all over the world with everyone from All Time Low to The Strokes, The Downtown Fiction has been acclaimed by fans and reviewers for their exciting and fast-paced live shows.

FOURTH QUARTER COMEBACK
Formed during the summer of 2010, Fourth Quarter Comeback hit the gates at a sprint, recording their debut EP Album, "Finders Keepers" with producer Jim Ebert (All Time Low, Butch Walker) shortly after solidifying themselves as a group. Andy, Ben and Casey, despite not yet having a drummer, were able to write and record the type of music they knew they wanted to play: driving, energetic, uplifting Power-Pop, and Jim had a unique vision for where they could take their style of sound. Drummer Matt DuRousseau joined shortly afterward in the Fall of 2010, and as a band they debuted electronically in late January of 2011 with presence on Facebook, Myspace, Purevolume, Youtube, Twitter and their own website (www.fourthquartercomeback.com). With their eyes on success, the bar has been set for Fourth Quarter Comeback to jump into the Pop-Rock scene with an enormous amount of vigor and intensity; something they have definitely not fallen short of. One can only speculate as to what the future holds for this promising band, but with continued support from fans and positive feedback to their music, the sky is the limit.

Heather Mae moved to NYC when she was 18 to become the next Broadway star but everything changed after experiencing her first bout with heartache. Fascinated with the emotions rolling thru her, Heather Mae took a microscope to her heart when she picked up her guitar, a gift from her parents after graduating high school, and began to write her first song. Like a phoenix born from the ashes, Heather Mae began anew. Soon after she released a home-recorded EP titled "Gonna Be Alright", and began performing all over NYC and DC (her hometown city). Since then Heather Mae has become a songwriting machine with her project "One Year of Songs". Starting on October 1st, 2010 and ending in the Grand Canyon on September 30th, 2011, Heather Mae successfully wrote and recorded one song every day for a year. During "One Year of Songs" she toured the country for three months meeting her new dedicated online followers and fans that had been tuning in every single day to hear her songs. She performed her songs in over 30 different states (plus Canada!), collaborated with over 100 different musicians, writers, artists, poets, and lyricists, and wrote over 7,000 lines of lyrics. Heather Mae has been called one of the "best songwriting voices of our generation" and "one to watch". This uke-wielding singer-songwriter has a charm when she is on stage and with her band, The Make Believe, by her side, her sound will break into your heart while you tap your toes.

THEYCALLMEPIANO is a rising artist who writes a diverse blend of songs based on her personal experiences. Her music style is difficult to label but generally falls into the Pop-Rock genre. Ranging from acoustic ballads to heavy synth beat driven dance songs, she colors her music to best portray the often hidden messages within. She has been compared to artists Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, Bruce Hornsby, Amy Winehouse, and Adele. Piano has a natural talent for writing, recording, and producing her own music, but interacting with live audiences is where she really comes alive. Her latest single "True Story" is now available via online vendors including iTunes."Another young talent, a local, Northern Virginia native who goes by the name THEYCALLMEPIANO, opened the show [Nat and Alex Wolff at Jammin' Java] and quickly showed that she, too, has showmanship beyond her years. At just 14, the girl whose nickname became part of her stage name commanded a Roland X-7 keyboard with well-earned confidence, running through a set of songs that alternated between diverse covers – Korn, Radiohead, Katy Perry (again!), La Roux – and her own original tunes, all of them driven by driving dance beats, sharp riffs and strong vocals. One particular tune, "Exit," was so well-received that one wondered if it was an obscure hit, but it turned out to be one of TCMP's originals, yet another sign that this 14-year-old girl has potential to spare." – Examiner.com

LEXIE HAYDEN
Eighteen year old singer-songwriter Lexie Hayden has been singing and playing music since she was about eight years old. Even though she was born and raised in Northern Virginia, she has an unforgettable country twang to her voice that you won't forget. Lexie's journey started when she got her first guitar at age thirteen, and with that guitar came a passion to perform and write songs, which would later start her music career. Her first YouTube video was posted when she was fourteen and was filmed at Jammin Java, after being invited up on stage by a local band that had been playing. Five years later she has 94 YouTube videos and two million upload views to her account. She has been named one of the "best singers on YouTube" through many fan videos, creating a fan base from all over the world. But making videos wasn't enough for her and in the summer of 2010, Lexie found herself in a recording studio for the first time. She created her first Demo CD called "Feels Like Home," showing the music world that underneath the city girl was a country heart. Each song is unlike the other, a different story written in each song. Lexie's biggest hits include her song "Closer," and her re-make of "Take It on the Run" by Reo Speedwagon, transforming the 80's rock song into a country hit. Also, more recently, this past year Lexie released a new single called "Countless" which can be found on iTunes. But besides iTunes and YouTube, the physical copy of her CD can be bought and you can find all her songs on her Pandora station! Without a major label, Lexie has still been able to build a large fan base and has an amazing career ahead of her. It's her unique voice and pure sound that keeps her fans coming back for more.

AMANDA LEE
Born in Towson, MD and raised in the tri-state area of DC, VA, MD, Amanda Lee has minimal experience beyond the east coast realm of life. Her aching and yearning for more is apparent in her music and may just be the drive that takes her to far places.Though one may hear some pop and folk sensibilities, the "pop" or "folk" category do not quite pinpoint Lee's sound. Her dynamic voice can calm you like lullaby and then surprise you when she lifts into a high soar. In her live performances, she incorporates the looper pedal to layer sweet, haunting vocal harmonies. Her lyrics are simple yet rich with meaning. Whatever genre it is, Lee's sound is soothingly addictive. With the ambition of wanting to put her music in people's hands, Lee partnered with Pledge Music in late 2010 to campaign the funding of her first EP. With much success, her fans prevailed and thus Lee was able to start recording with Kevin Gutierrez at Assembly Line Studios in Vienna, VA. Lee co-produced the album with Gutierrez and her bass player, Posido Vega. The album was released digitally in April 2011.

SARA DAVENPORT
Like an Edward Hopper canvas, Sara Davenport's songs speak of loneliness and separation, but her voice delivers the promise of a brighter day. Sara draws inspiration from singer-songwriters such as Sara Bareilles and Michelle Branch, and colors it with her own life experiences. Sara has been writing and performing music for more than a decade. She has performed at the Virginia State Fair, the Carytown Watermelon Festival, and The Hamilton in Washington D.C. She performs with a wide range of instruments from guitar to keyboards to bass to percussion (she can play a mean egg shaker). She is working on her first EP, which is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2013. Sara was a vocal major at Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently an elementary music teacher in Northern Virginia. She collaborates with other local musicians, and performs with The 3MTs, a trio of music teachers from Fairfax County.

PAT MCGEE’S DOWN THE HATCH THANKSGIVING SPECIAL Benefiting Adopt A Family

Pat McGee Bio- from a personal viewpoint

Since my first CD "from the wood" in 1995 to my latest album No Wrong Way To Make It Right (my 9th recording) in 2011, I feel that I have allowed too many publicists who don't know me to write my bio. Who knows Pat McGee better than I, right? Selling music is different from selling any other product because the music along with live shows are so much a part of me. Maybe it's the fact that I am now 38, a father of three beautiful girls, living in Rhode Island, and in my heart in the best place I have ever been in my life, but in this bio I want to share a little of what goes into my life as a touring and recording musician. Reflecting on the last eighteen years of recording and touring, more than ever, I look forward to the next eighteen and feel that this release is my strongest work to date. Eighteen years, eh? When I counted it out on my fingers, I can't believe it has been this long . . .I'm enjoying now more than I ever have, and that's saying a lot!

The songs on my new album, compiled over the last few years, evoke emotions that I previously shied away from. Deeply personal pain, pleasure, regret, bliss, discouragement, resentment, love, anger, fear, and peace of mind all pour out of each track. The light-hearted title track "No Wrong Way To Make It Right" reeks of my teenage years cruising in "my grandmother's ‘70 convertible Cadillac" and spending summers on the Jersey boardwalk, yet relates to my current life. "Juliet," written from the mindset of 15-year-old boy, is my vision/hope of what it will be like when my now-5-year-old daughter repels all the boys gunning for her love and leaves them broken hearted. The closing track on the record "They Think We Are Not Going To Make It" tells the struggle of other people working to accept a new relationship, while also being a very intimate love song about a hopeful future. The use of folk instruments that I grew up loving – acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, fiddle and bazouki – all seem to showcase perfectly the sentiment in each song in a way that brings me back to the tones I adored combing through my parents' record collection. The material on this album includes some of my hardest-rockin' and at the same time most delicate arrangements that I have ever tracked. Dating back to my earliest recordings, I was often labeled as "country" in album reviews; so it's no surprise that this record goes even further in that direction.

In addition to writing some of the material alone, for the first time in a long while I had the fortune of working and writing with some of my oldest comrades in the business: Jason Mraz, Emerson Hart, Stephen Kellogg, Keaton Simons and Ryan Newell from Sister Hazel. Vocalists Tim Warren from Alternate Routes and Lucy Woodward; pedal steel mad man Jon Graboff from Ryan Adams and violinist Gabe Witcher from Punchbrothers all shared their talents in this process, some both as co-writers and as guests on the recordings. It is literally music to my ears to have so many artists on this record whom I have known for years and have been fans of.

The road to recording this latest album started on an exciting path that suddenly turned to a very dark place and eventually came to level of comfort that I had never previously recorded in. The original producer slated for this project was my old friend and accomplished musician, Will Owsley. We recently reconnected after being label-mates at Warner Brothers in the late 90's and were focused on working together on this project. We had both been newly divorced, and both proud, dedicated dads as well as working musicians. We faced the struggles and challenges that came with that gift of the musician profession. A few weeks had gone by and I hadn't heard from Will, which was out of the ordinary. Sadly, Will took his own life and left so many of us with endless questions and deep sadness. I am grateful for the time we had just spent together and I look back on the WBR years as such a hopeful time for both of us.

Knowing I had a batch of tunes that must see the light of day, I picked up the pieces and moved on. I needed a producer. I called the one man I had always wanted to work with since he pressed record on my first demo in 1991: Doug Derryberry. He agreed to take on the project and weeks later we were at the Dave Matthews Band's studio, Haunted Hollow in the hills of Charlottesville, VA. This CD is really a return to my roots, not just from a writing standpoint or in the geographical sense but because of the musicians I recorded with. Growing up in Virginia, at around the age of 16, I began to idolize not only the superstars on vinyl, but more so the local musicians who went from the Virginia/DC club circuit to become national recording artists. The backing musicians, as well as the engineers and studio technicians on this record, are those artists who have over the years become my peers. It brought a vibe of relaxed and calming support with unbridled drive to the sessions to make this one a reflection of all that I had learned to date, surrounded by musicians who all truly respected one another.

In the winter of 1994, I wrote my first song "Rebecca," still a crowd favorite, and put out my first real deal CD the following spring just before leaving college life behind me and diving headfirst into the touring singer-songwriter world. I would play every night if I could and most of the time did. In the spring of ‘96, I founded the official Pat McGee Band to back my acoustic-driven shows. I went on to sell over 300,000 records and counting, some out of the back of my trailer, some through what we used to call "record stores." Remember those? Sigh. I called each "mom and pop" store myself and greatly valued their role in the music business. Now you can find my entire catalog on the online mega-store iTunes.

We were a touring machine, I lost count once the band did our 3,000th show. I recall in one 103 day stretch, we played 98 gigs. That was all before tour buses and cushy hotels, and we loved every second of it. In the fall of 2006, my band suffered our greatest loss when our drummer Chris Williams passed away suddenly. I'd be lying if I didn't say it changed everything. To this day it feels like one of my best friends just took a vacation and hasn't returned yet. Like most bands I know, many of my backing musicians have come and gone, but I still surround myself with talented artists night after night to share the stage with. We have had the fortune of selling out venues such as the Filmore in San Francisco, The Troubadour in LA, The House of Blues in Chicago, as well as Wolf Trap's Filene Center in Virginia, The Avalon in Boston and The Roxy in Atlanta. I have also had the joy of sharing the stage with some of my musical heroes such as: The Who, The Allman Brothers, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Jimmy Buffet, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.

Being the youngest of three, my siblings and parents showed me the light to great music at a very young age. In 5th grade, I recall getting in a fight at school because some kid didn't know who The Who was. I remember slow dancing to Purple Rain in 8th grade – I can still feel what it's like to wish a song never ended. My brother's influence lead me to a love of classic rock artists ranging from Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers and the Beatles to James Taylor, Willie Nelson and the Eagles. My sister instilled in me a love of 80's music from REM and David Bowie to The Clash and Bob Marley. It all somehow peeks its head up throughout each track on this new record of mine and takes me back to listening to vinyl on my basement floor, wondering how cool it would be to play in a band.

I firmly believe that live performance is king and should be respected above anything you can do in your career. I have recently endeavored on a destination concert/vacation experience like none other called "Down The Hatch". Fans and the band take over resorts and allow me to share my love of music, travel, local attractions and cuisine that only a touring artist can uncover after nearly two decades of traversing all over our beautiful country, combing the back streets of big cities and small towns for the best America has to offer.

As an artist I feel a welcomed obligation to connect to my listeners so they can really get to know the artist and relate to the material on a different level . . . when you know where someone is coming from, I believe that you then appreciate how much they mean what they sing about. When I approach an album from artists whom I know well, I listen to their records in a whole different light. I want fans to share in some of that intimate feeling when listening to my songs.

In closing I hope you enjoyed reading this and feel like you know just a little bit more about me.

Martha Wainwright

Buy a pair of advance tickets by Saturday, November 10th and get a free signed Martha Wainwright poster.

With a hugely expressive voice and an arsenal of powerful songs, Martha is a beguiling entertainer and a refreshingly different, new force in music.

Martha is the daughter of folk legends Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and sister of acclaimed singer songwriter Rufus Wainwright. Born in New York City and raised in Montreal, she spent her childhood immersed in music and often performing with her parents. She took the first step in her own recording career in 1998 when she contributed her song "Year of the Dragon" to her mother and aunt's album The McGarrigle Hour. The same year she started singing back-up for her brother both live and on record.

Martha released a self-titled EP as well as a four-song EP called Factory in 2002. In February 2005 Wainwright released an EP called Bloody Motherfu*king As*hole, followed by the eponymous Martha Wainwright in April to great critical and commercial acclaim. In the January 2005 issue of Mojo Norah Jones listed her as one of the "best things she heard all year." London's Sunday Times included "Bloody Mother Fu*king As*hole" in their songs of the year and Rolling Stone called BMFA "a blistering prelude to her debut album." Throughout her career, Martha has also contributed to albums by Dan Bern, Kate & Anna McGarrigle. Rufus Wainwright, Snow Patrol and Teddy Thompson among others.

A dynamic performer, Martha was a part of the acclaimed Leonard Cohen tribute concert in May 2004 at Brighton's Dome Concert Hall. Martha also took a turn performing on film in Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and contributed two songs to the soundtrack of American independent film P.S. starring Laura Linney and directed by Dylan Kidd. Martha joined her brother on his fall 2004 UK dates to rapt audiences and has also supported artists such as Cyndi Lauper and Van Morrison, Neko Case, Snow Patrol, Pete Townshend and Sean Lennon among others over the last few years.

Undoubtedly her own person, with her own sense of style, Martha creates her own music with an extraordinary versatile and compelling voice.

Martha is set to return with her third studio album, Come Home To Mama, via Cooperative Music in the U.S. on October 16th. The album is her first collection of original music in four years and was produced by Yuka C. Honda of Cibo Matto. Recorded earlier this year, mostly at Sean Lennon's home studio in New York City, Come Home To Mama displays the passionate angst of her 2005 eponymous debut coupled with the twisted pop of 2008's I Know Your Married But I've Got Feelings Too. Yuka and Martha have created an edgy, multi-instrumental soundscape that showcases Martha's raw, confessional poetry with undeniable style and grace. The captivating 10-song set features performances from Yuka Honda, Nels Cline (Wilco), Sean Lennon, Jim White (Dirty Three), Brad Albetta and Thomas Bartlett (Doveman).

Come Home To Mama follows Martha Wainwright's live collection of Edith Piaf songs, Sans Fusils, Ni Souliers, A Paris in 2009 and Martha has plans to tour and perform worldwide starting Nov 2012 in Europe and in North America in 2013.

Stargroves (with Abigail Breslin)

Purchase advance tickets for a special FREE Stargroves download.

The first 20 tickets purchased receives a FREE signed Stargrove poster.

Stargroves is an eclectic mix of NYC based musicians, founded by lead singer and songwriter Teddy Watson. Influenced by bands such as Freelance Whales, Stars, and Sigur Rós, the members of Stargroves play a variety of intriguing instruments, accounting for the originality of their sound. At the beginning of 2012, Teddy retreated to Iceland for three months to focus on writing music in solitude, without the distractions of NYC. Upon returning to the States, Teddy formed Stargroves and teamed up with producer Jeremy Sklarsky (Freelance Whales' "Weathervanes") to record during the summer. The result is a collection of unique, melodic, original songs sure to delight music lovers. The first single, "Westfjords," is named after the large peninsula in northwestern Iceland. The song itself is about trolls, the subject of legend in the area. Over the coming months, Stargroves will be releasing a few tracks they recorded this summer as singles, eventually leading to a full album release. Live performances are also in the works! Updates can be found at Stargroves.com.

ABIGAIL BRESLIN
We knew she could dance like a Superfreak after watching her in Little Miss Sunshine, but we had no idea Abigail Breslin had vocals to match her exquisite moves! The teenage actress has apparently been exploring a music career over the past few years, and even starred in indie film Janie Jones in which she sings and plays guitar. But NOW the oscar-nominated 16-year-old is lending her voice to aspiring singer/songwriter Teddy Watson's new project, a band called Stargroves, and her sweet, light vocals are featured on Stargroves' catchy, twangy alt-pop tune Westfjords. Very modern Postal Service infused with a slice of Taylor Swift-esque guitar riffs… we are LOVING the complimenting tones of both Teddy and Abigail's voices. Impressive first effort, you hot young thangs! While we hope Abigail continues charming us via the big screen, we wanna hear MORE of Stargroves ft. her delicate sound! – PerezHilton.com

JOEL KAISER
Joel Kaiser started off by writing songs around the age of 7. Rooted in Sunday morning gospel and contemporary Christian music, Kaiser tried to break away a bit by forming a rock band with friends and musical mentors alike. The local screamo/alt rock scene helped give him the stage and band experience that would continue his journey towards his yet-to-be realized dream of pursuing music as a career. His first band Wayside Remedy and later, The Cardboard Cutouts were both catalysts which took Kaiser from musical infancy to where he is today. After his bands parted ways, Kaiser picked up the acoustic guitar and began writing easy-going tunes as a means of soul searching. Honesty drives the lyrics, while a desperate personal need for acoustic innovation (due to a self-taught history on guitar) delivers an interesting mix of alt rock, soulful blues, jazz and indie folk music that appeals to a wide variety of musical tastes and audiences.

FARADAY
First off, Daniel Miller met Spencer Harris at freshman orientation at Virginia Tech. This happened three years and change ago. Daniel knew Aaron Bish, and Spencer met his neighbor across the dorm hallway Jason Hiner, and they all decided that they should be in a band together basically right off the bat. Pretty lucky when you think about it. They released four of their songs as the Security Tape EP in November of 2011. However, they're at work on something bigger at the moment. Something much bigger.

An Evening with Tom Russell

Tom Russell is a master storyteller and Mesabi, his new release for Shout! Factory , corrals some of the acclaimed singer-songwriter's most compelling tales to date. A thread runs through its songs, a zigzagging but determinedly solid line that connects the perilous bordertown of Juarez, Mexico to the real and faux glitz of L.A. and the bleak iron range of Minnesota-the Mesabi of the album's title. The broad landscapes created by Tom Russell for Mesabi are inhabited by characters we all know-Bob Dylan, James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor-and some we may not: the now-obscure, once well-known singer Cliff "Ukulele Ike" Edwards, the tragic Disney child star Bobby Driscoll and the character actor Sterling Hayden. It's a logical progression from Russell's last album, 2009's Blood and Candle Smoke, yet it's like no other album Russell has made in his nearly four decades as a recording artist.

His songs have also been recorded by a number of other prominent musicians including Johnny Cash, Guy Clark, Dave Alvin, K.D. Lang, and Suzy Bogguss. Bogguss' rendition of "Outbound Plane" became a Top 10 hit on the country charts. Tom Russell has appeared on the David Letterman TV show five times in the last few years, and his songs have appeared in a dozen movies and television series including: The new Monte Hellman movie The Road To Nowhere, Tremors, Songcatcher and Northern Exposure. Tom Russell makes the music he wants to make, without intervention, and he does so without a care for trends and expectations.

LAST SECOND LEFT (formerly known as TheBrunoSound)
With songs ranging in genre from anthem-esque ballads to danceable rock-reggae to straight up rock and roll, it's no wonder Bruno de Lima-Campos finds it hard to pinpoint his music to one particular category. Having begun at age 11 with classical and flamenco lessons and gradually applying his teachings to the electric and steel string acoustic guitar, Bruno's unique stylings truly have a sound all their own. After stints as a lead guitarist and songwriter for many acclaimed bands (most notably Crowded Streets, a Dave Matthews Band Tribute), Bruno decided it was time to give his fans a bigger taste of his personal musical journey, and thus, Last Second Left was born. Last Second Left's repertoire has been influenced by such notable musicians as Carlos Santana, Baden Powell, Tim Mahoney and Mike Einziger, but it also goes beyond that to truly display Bruno's growth as both a songwriter and guitarist. With guest vocalist Lindsay Hough of The Fishermen and a plethora of other talented backing musicians accompanying Bruno, the final sound demonstrated throughout his self-titled debut album is one of richness and depth. Last Second Left's live shows will also be sure to please, as Bruno is determined to take his fans along with him on his musical voyage, sharing with audiences the energy and passion with which he lives his life – both on stage and off.

Lucy Wainwright Roche

She has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Patti Griffin by NPR — was born in NYC into an influential musical family. She rebelled against the family business by teaching elementary school for several years before getting involved in music. Since 2007, Lucy has released two EPs and a studio album entitled Lucy (2010), toured the U.S., Canada and Europe, and has performed with a number of musicians including the Indigo Girls, Neko Case, and Over the Rhine. Lucy is known for her crystal clear voice and straightforward, funny stage presence. When she's not on tour, Lucy now lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Official Site | Twitter | Facebook | iTunes | YouTube Lindsay Fuller (featuring Kaia Wilson)

Her latest record, You, Anniversary, is the result of a woman who has spent the bulk of her life trying to tell a story well. The title track is based on W.S. Merwin's poem, "For The Anniversary of My Death," in which the poet contemplates the fact that he passes the future day of his death each year unaware. Lindsay's song, a duet with Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, heaves a beautiful portrait of someone awake to her own mortality yet frustrated with death's undermining of what she's built. Lindsay recorded the album live at engineer Ryan Freeland's (Ray LaMontagne, Joe Henry) Los Angeles studio, Stampede Origin, over the course of 3 days with producer Paul Bryan (Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Phillips). Bryan cast a rather special group of players to paint the mood for each song: Jay Bellerose on drums, Chris Bruce on electric guitar, Paul Bryan himself on bass and mellotron and Jebin Bruni on keys. Lindsay plays a raw nerve of an acoustic guitar on every tune but one. Her deep mournful vocal style, which has garnered comparisons to Patti Smith, Gillian Welch, and Nick Cave, sounds as though it comes from a place of necessity and nowhere else. The result is a rowdy yet affecting telling of stories involving all the things that make the beauty and violence of the human experience so damn curious. Fuller sings, "Some folks can't help but build a bomb or leave a wake." Indeed.

• First come, first seated Ellis Paul

Ellis Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting. He was a principle leader in the wave of singer/songwriters that emerged from the Boston folk scene, creating a movement that revitalized the national acoustic circuit with an urban, literate, folk pop style that helped renew interest in the genre in the 1990's. His charismatic, personally authentic performance style has influenced a generation of artists away from the artifice of pop, and closer towards the realness of folk. Though he remains among the most pop-friendly of today's singer-songwriters – his songs regularly appear in hit movie and TV soundtracks – he has bridged the gulf between the modern folk sound and the populist traditions of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger more successfully than perhaps any of his songwriting peers.

He is a critically-acclaimed singer, songwriter, poet, and troubadour originally hailing from a potato farming family in northern Maine. He is the recipient of thirteen Boston Music Awards, second only to multi-platinum act, Aerosmith. Over the course of fifteen years, Ellis Paul has built a vast catalog of music which weds striking poetic imagery and philosophical introspection with hook-laden melodies.

PEYTON TOCHTERMAN
Born in Virginia, living in the musical hotbed of Charlottesville, Peyton Tochterman has just recorded his debut national release, A NEW WORLD. Produced by Sam Wilson (Sons of Bill), the project features songstress Stacey Earle and nationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Ellis Paul. Peyton is and has been many things. A former sports writer, a cancer survivor, a former NCAA athlete (if you call being ninth out of a possible ten on his golf team athletics)… He's been hit by a train, had Kenny G.'s grand piano fall on his head, gotten to pick out Trisha Yearwood's dress one night (they settled on the red one, by the way), has made Yo Yo Ma laugh with a joke and can't remember what joke, has helped cast bronze monuments and sculptures for renowned sculpture Cy Twombly, has traveled across America on Harleys with his dad, and to the far reaches of western China to record monks blowing really, really big horns… And through it all, he has been a songwriter. Peyton has the privilege of being the first to step foot on stage and perform at the illustrious Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, VA, and has shared the stage with Levon Helm, Robert Earl Keen, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Richard Buckner, Sons of Bill, Ellis Paul, Old School Freight Train among others. Peyton will be touring with and opening for Ellis Paul through the upcoming year.

This show will take place at
The Hamilton in Washington, DC Matt Wertz (at The Hamilton)

My love for visual art led me eight hours from home to the University of Illinois, where I studied Industrial Design. As a result of that experience, music became my respite—my escape from the responsibility of class work. Dorm life served to provide a small, built–in audience who graciously embraced my first attempts at songwriting. Before I knew it, I was recording versions of those songs on my roommate’s computer and burning copies for my new cohabiting fans. Eventually I started playing concerts outside the walls of Scott Hall and made the leap to register my name as a dot-com. That may not seem like a big deal today, but at the time, those were the early, shaky steps I took toward a full-fledged career in the music industry.

Early on, I was shown many graces—like a loan from my parents to pay for the first 1,000 copies of my debut record, Somedays (2001). To assuage their fear that I was throwing my life away, I democratically assured them that I’d get a job after the summer was over. Needless to say, that never happened. On the heels of the Twenty Three Places release, people started taking notice. Creative Artists Agency got involved booking my shows. Nettwerk took over my management. And a bunch of record labels started knocking down my door. But none of them felt like a good fit. So what did I do? I did what I’d always done: I recorded another record on my own and kept touring. Everything in Between was the first record I released with any kind of organized push behind it. We came out of the gates strong, charting high on the iTunes pop charts and filming a video for the song “Carolina.” Some of the songs landed in unexpected places—on TV’s “Brothers and Sisters” and in theaters via movies like My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

Since the start of my career, I’ve sold around 75,000 albums, played shows with Ben Folds, Jamie Cullum, and One Republic, as well as headlined sold-out clubs around the country. This was all done, mind you, as an independent artist. Over time, momentum built and more labels took notice, including Universal Republic. Finally I encountered a label that felt right, a label that could pull the trigger, a label that understood where I was coming from. And so, I signed.  In eight years of touring through hundreds of venues, playing three albums’ worth of songs for thousands of listeners, that connection is what fuels my passion. Ultimately, the thing that you and I have here—between the words and the chords and the lights and the beats—that is the thing that encourages me to keep singing.

Derek Webb

With Derek Webb's highly anticipated new album 'Ctrl' hot off the presses he's hitting the road for a handful of intimate acoustic performances of the entire album (plus crowd requests), featuring Page CXVI as his opening and backing band. With press and fan reviews already heralding 'Ctrl' among his best albums, these rare full-album performances are not to be missed.

Like Neil Young and Rich Mullins before him, Derek Webb has matured into a fearless artist who delights in betraying expectations, and making art that explores detours, departures and roads less traveled. Take his latest album, Ctrl, which features Webb picking up his acoustic guitar after a long layoff from the instrument. For Webb fans who know and love his past work with Caedmon's Call, his return to unplugged sounds should come as welcome news: They adore this latest record from start to finish. Webb's singing also adds to the emotional wallop, as he tried something else brand new: He sang all the songs on the album, in their exact album sequence, in one 36-hour stretch. The exhaustion you hear by the closing track is real, and it reflects the fray he felt as his vocal cords began to splinter. Still, Webb enjoys the fact that Ctrl, with its futuristic sound and shape, also marks a homecoming for longtime listeners who've stayed away for a while.

A Great Big World (ft. Ian Axel)

A Great Big World is the new incarnation of Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino.

Axel's known for the 2011 viral hit "This Is the New Year," which solidified him as an indie pop presence with staggering YouTube views and numerous syncs on film and television. Teaming up with longtime collaborator Chad, he's expanding his horizons immensely into A Great Big World. The seeds for the partnership were planted early, even before Ian's solo career took off. While both studying music at NYU, Ian tracked Chad down in the school's practice rooms. Ian was the artist, and Chad shared writing duties and became his manager. Playing around New York, Ian eventually stepped into the spotlight and released an independent solo album entitled This Is the New Year in 2010. The title track featured a vocal cameo from Chad. The song's low budget music video shot at a Brooklyn party garnered over 1.5 million views and stirred an overwhelming viral buzz. Given the track's success, tinyOGRE Entertainment signed Ian, remixing and re-releasing the record through Sony. "We finally got to quit our day jobs and do this," Chad goes on. "It was surreal how quickly everything moved forward from that point."

As they hit the road, "This Is the New Year" continued to gain steam. MTV utilized it as the theme song for their hit documentary series I Used to Be Fat and then it played over the title credits of Garry Marshall's New Year's Eve. Their music became a favorite of music supervisors. One Tree Hill, Amazing Race, ESPN, and Good Morning America all incorporated their songs, and Rachael Ray invited them to perform on her nationally syndicated talk show. They completed their first national tours and opened shows for Ingrid Michaelson, Five For Fighting, and Glee star Matthew Morrison. Their live performances feature a warm, engaging interplay reminiscent of the intimacy and energy of artists like Elton John, Regina Spektor, and Simon and Garfunkel. Making positive, piano-driven pop bursting with harmonies and woven together with a fun theatrical twist, the duo crafted a six-song EP funded entirely on Kickstarter by fans.

HANNAH GEORGAS
"I want to press reset," Hannah Georgas sings in "Robotic," a driving and purposeful song from her self-titled new album. And she's done just that. A few years ago, when Georgas was first toting her guitar through the Vancouver music scene, she was known for her acoustic leanings. Then the more intricate production of her nascent recordings, in combination with her luscious voice, helped raise inevitable comparisons to Canada's most favored musical export, Feist. But with Hannah Georgas, she's found bold new ways to marry her essential singer/songwriter sensibility to elaborate studio soundscapes, while significantly upping the playfulness factor. It's an album of rich, emotionally resonant synth-pop that isn't afraid to walk a fine line between vintage new wave and contemporary ethereality, easily gliding from tongue-in-cheek come-ons to hauntingly emotional head trips. One thing you'll never accuse it of being is robotic. Hanna won "Emerging Artist of the Year" at XM's Verge Music Awards in 2011 and "Solo Artist o the Year" at the Sirius/XM-sponsored Indies. This Is Good was put up for the Polaris Music Prize. And at the 2011 Juno Awards, Georgas was nominated for both "Best New Artist of the Year" and "Songwriter of the Year."

NATHAN ANGELO
What happens when you take soulful keys and pair them with perceptive storytelling, rock-infused melodies, and heartbreaking hooks? You get Nathan Angelo. And, more recently, you get his latest release, Follow Your Heart. An Atlanta transplant and minister's son, Nathan discovered music at an early age where he spent much of his youth as his church's Director of Music, developing his vocals and finding a home on the keys. With no plans of pursuing music professionally, Nathan stumbled into songwriting more as catharsis than ambition. What started as a hobby after college quickly turned into a passion, one which he soon felt necessary to share with an audience. His first two projects Through Playing Me (2006) and These 'Ol Keys (2009) reveal a soulful disposition and a natural affinity for provocative songwriting.Coupled with an incessant touring schedule and attention paid to the ever-changing landscape of social media, Nathan has managed to sell over 15,000 albums independently. He's also toured with national acts such as the Fray, Zac Brown Band, Marc Broussard and Matt Wertz. In 2009, Nathan caught the attention of a major publishing company, Warner/Chappell. Compelled by his ability to mix modern-pop with classic songwriting, Warner/Chappell signed Nathan to a publishing deal, a rare occasion for an independent artist, and has since been called upon to write for the likes of Kelly Clarkson & Justin Bieber.A commercial spin on soul-infused pop, Nathan's latest project Follow Your Heart (2011) emerges as his strongest work to date. Laced with both whimsy and candor, songs like "Love Is On the Line," "Make Up Your Mind," "Forgetting You" and "Hurt Me" treat the intricacies and frustrations of youth and relationships with due weight yet have a playfulness that lightens the situation. In reference to Follow Your Heart, Nathan calls it "a very personal project yet one that I believe to be universal in its ability to relate to what we all go through."As much an album title as it is an anthem, Follow Your Heart displays Nathan's ear for melody and keen understanding of story and reveals that he has much in store for fans both new and old.

Cold Specks

Cold Specks is 23-year-old Al Spx from Etobicoke, Canada, who now lives in London. Describing her sound as 'Doom Soul', Cold Specks' music is steeped in the musical traditions of the Deep South. No wonder then that Al cites the Lomax Field Recordings and James Carr as influences along with Bill Callahan and Tom Waits. With a voice that evokes the 'spirit feel' of Mahalia Jackson and the visceral tones of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Cold Specks' sparse arrangements and chaingang rhythms stop you dead in your tracks.

EILEEN GRAHAM
Eileen Graham's debut solo album, One of Those Girls, is an honest and simply done, piano-driven collection. Cozy like a cup of tea, fresh like a lemon. Produced by former My Favorite Highway lead singer, Dave Cook, each song is colored by delightful hooks and a wash of uncertainty, leaving listeners transfixed by Graham's unforgettable blanket of a voice.A Northern Virginia native, the 25-year-old songstress grew up singing in school choir and playing her acoustic guitar in local coffee bars. She picked up piano through a year of music classes in college. As the former lead singer of the band Noble Air, Graham was featured on the premiere webisode of Aux Send, which landed in the Top 10 of New & Noteworthy Artists on iTunes in 2011.

• First come, first seated Charlie Hunter Duo

Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead, the renowned guitarist/composer Charlie Hunter's new duo recording with drummer Scott Amendola, is an album that's easy to get behind. A complete departure from last year's Public Domain — a true solo album — and the previous year's Gentlemen, I Neglected to Inform You You Will Not Be Getting Paid — which incorporated two trombones and trumpet into Hunter's instrumental arsenal — Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead (Release Date: October 2, 2012) is Hunter's first recording of original compositions in three years. It's also, perhaps, his most candid and forthright set of songs ever.

"Our intention in making this record was to tell a bunch of stories around the central theme of the album's title," says Hunter. "The new tunes are meant to evoke some of the things you might see in your travels through the USA these days. Scott and I wanted to think of each composition as a starting point for some kind of narrative."

Recorded with Hunter and Amendola playing in the same room simultaneously — an old-school recording method that has been virtually lost in today's cut-and-paste world — Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead was written by Hunter while at home, inspired by his touring. "I love the nooks and crannies of the U.S., and this album is for the people living in these places."

"One of the best elements of this new album is that we didn't use any headphones," adds Amendola. "We could hear everything naturally and acoustically. No mixing and no fixing, straight to 1/4-inch tape. It sounds incredible. My drums haven't sounded this good ever. Everything sounded just as you were naturally playing it."

Lauded studio engineer Dave McNair comments, "Dynamic subtlety is not very common on most modern records, but I wanted to present that to the listener in a way that makes you feel like you are sitting in front of the musicians. I think we succeeded. All of the songs were recorded live to two track analog tape, no overdubs, no editing. Just 100% live groove and vibe, no added artificial ingredients, and no mixing. There are not a lot of musicians that can pull it off this way, but Charlie and Scott are not only up to it, they THRIVE it that environment!"

AllAboutJazz.com wasn't kidding when it wrote that Charlie Hunter "can be counted on to shake things up every couple of discs," and Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead certainly gives things a good stir. "I really tried to just let it be whatever it was going to be," he says, "taking elements from what I like — blues, jazz, R&B — and putting them together to make a duo record." At the core, of course, is Hunter's always-spellbinding guitar work. The Guardian (U.K.) proclaimed that Hunter possesses "one of the most original techniques in the instrument's history" while JazzTimes said Charlie is "a remarkably deep musician who is devoted to the tradition of his instrument in all of its applications: blues, folk, rock, reggae, country and jazz."

Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead leads off with a track whose title is as much of a pretzel as the album's: "Assessing the Assessors, An Assessor's Assessment." The song came about, Hunter says, after "I was talking with one of my friends here in New York City and some pundit came on the radio yapping… There is a whole group of people who get paid to ramble on about the world and politics, but I'd rather hear people talking about baseball; they are actually experts. The mood of the song fits with this. When we were growing up there were three TV stations, and there would only be one person yapping. Now there is an entire class of people, the pundit class, who are not actual experts in what they are talking about."

"Rust Belt" follows, and casts an eye on another aspect of today's America. "All of the music on this album is very simple, but it's executed very rhythmically," Hunter says. "I've been touring the country my whole life, and I wrote this song while traveling. It's a shout-out to people that live in places with a real Americana lifestyle — the Midwest, like Chicago, Detroit, Youngstown, Buffalo — places that have the whole toughness mentality: get the job done with pride."

"There Used To Be a Nightclub There" laments the vanishing cultural landscape. "Right now there is a passing of a whole era," Hunter says. "I grew up in nightclubs. I gigged first at 15 years old. I watched people that just amazed me. Clubs were hubs of culture, and in a lot of ways they were so spontaneous. You didn't need a grant to keep it open; they were cultural meeting places, and so many great things come out of them. In Berkeley, California, where I grew up, all those places are now gone. It was a town where there was a musician class. Now, you can feel that culture is disappearing."

"The Wizard," says Hunter, "I did on another record. Some of the melody is changed though, and the tempo is now half of what it was. Before, it was called 'Wizard Sleeve': The wizard is out of a job and is pounding the pavement, looking for work."

The title track, says Hunter, is actually the most straightforward: "The title pretty much says it all," he explains. "It's a sign of the times; this is what's going on out there in the world."

Nearly all of the songs on Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead are first takes, played once in the studio and left untouched. "It's about not compromising," says Amendola, who has been playing with Hunter for 20 years. "You do the first take and you are impressed. It was extremely smooth sailing."

"Ghost Mall," the sixth track on the record, "is my favorite title on the album," notes Hunter. "When you are on the road, they are building all these malls, all the time, so fast that the malls built 15 years ago are now being replaced with new malls and the old malls are now becoming abandoned. I grew up with mom and pop stores that no longer exist. Now, all interactions are done on a corporate level at so many places."

"Blind Arthur" was inspired by the blues musician Blind Blake. "He is one of my favorite guitar players," says Hunter. "He lived almost 100 years ago and just traveled around the states playing, making a living as a musician. I wonder what his perspective was 90 years ago when he was touring."

The next track, "Those Desks Aren't Going to Clean Themselves," may have an odd title, but its subject fits right in with the album's real America theme. "I once worked for this great guy, with an awesome work ethic, and we used to clean desks," recalls Charlie. "He would say to us, 'You'd better get to work, those desks aren't gonna clean themselves.' There is an intense corniness to this saying, actually saying something like this out loud, but this concept applies to a lot of things… you gotta work hard."

"Dot Dot Dah," says Hunter, "reminds me of a late '20s kind of standard; it's trying a little too hard to be happy," and finally there's "Economy with Dignity." About that track, Hunter notes, "My engineer Dave McNair said his friend just sent him a picture, from a thrift store called Economy with Dignity. It really resonated with me."

The digital edition of the album also includes a hidden bonus track, a Delta blues tune titled "If You Don't Give Me That."

Summing up the experience of making Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead, Amendola says, "Working with Charlie in the studio, the whole thing was just relaxed. We'd been working on this material live, and it was really fun, kind of interesting. We have been playing music for so long that when you are in the studio, the tape doesn't lie. We work our butts off and we are getting better. I'm excited about where we are at musically. It really comes through on this album."

Hunter is appropriately reflective about the project. "I think about all the great music I like, everything I listen to and try to absorb," he says, "and I ask myself, how can I tell the story with the kind of music that I love?"

The answer doesn't require much pondering at all: He just has, within the grooves of Not Getting Behind Is The New Getting Ahead.

• First come, first seated (CANCELLED) From The Jayhawks, An Evening with Gary Louris

Over the last three decades, singer, songwriter and guitarist Gary Louris has built a deeply compelling body of music whose artistry and integrity has won the loyalty of an international audience and the respect of both critics and his peers. Best known for his seminal work with The Jayhawks, Louris is one of the most acclaimed musicians to come out of Minnesota’s teaming rock scene.

Gary began his recording career with the fabled Minneapolis indie combo Safety Last before co-founding the Jayhawks with Mark Olson, who in their initial two- decade career rose from their indie roots to international prominence. Concurrent with his time in the Jayhawks, Louris was a charter member of the part-time alt-rock supergroup Golden Smog, which at various times also included members of Soul Asylum, Wilco, the Replacements and Big Star.

Along the way he also found time to lend his writing, performing and production talents to albums by acts as diverse as the Black Crowes, the Dixie Chicks, Counting Crows, Joe Henry, John Hiatt, Lucinda Williams, Roger McGuinn, Maria McKee, Nickel Creek, Carrie Rodriguez, Tift Merritt, the Sadies, and the Wallflowers.

Most recently, following his first-ever solo album (Vagabonds in 2008) and a duo album with his former Jayhawks partner Olson (2009’s Ready For The Flood), the two reconvened the classic Jayhawks lineup for a new record and tour. The resulting album, Mockingbird Time, marked a well-received return to the group’s trademark blend of dustblown harmonies and pop sensibility, and they relished the opportunity to introduce their timeless catalog to new audiences around the world.

Now embarking on his first solo endeavors since reassembling the band, Gary looks forward to showcasing songs spanning his entire 30-year career in select venues this fall.

THE PINES
Rising out of the prairies of the Midwest, The Pines are one of the most distinct and powerful indie-rock/Americana groups to hit the national scene in years. Emerging from the same Minneapolis music world that spawned such notable acts as The Jayhawks, The Replacements and Bob Dylan, The Pines have gathered a stunning line-up of musical talent, in both their live shows and on record, that has gained them a faithful and growing following. Frontmen Benson Ramsey and David Huckfelt share a common musical language rooted in the songs and songwriters of their native Iowa, while each bringing a distinct voice and sensibility to the sound that Rolling Stone senior writer David Fricke called "quietly gripping" stark-country. The mysterious sound of The Pines fuses Benson's ethereal, otherworldly, heart-piercing songs with David's earthy, darkly romantic and rough-hewn visionary tales. With masterful guitar work, beautiful vocals and the graceful keyboard and vocal additions of Benson's brother Alex Ramsey, the core of The Pines' sound captivates and elevates with rare intimacy.

Creating quite a buzz around the Twin Cities and across the Upper Midwest, The Pines caught the attention of acclaimed indie label Red House Records and signed with them in 2007, releasing their breakout album Sparrows in the Bell, named one of the top roots releases of the year by Q Magazine. The Pines wowed audiences at the 2008 South By Southwest (SXSW) and were named one of the musical highlights by CMT.com. They followed up this success with Tremolo, an album that garnered rave reviews in magazines like Rolling Stone and got airplay on tastemaker stations such as KCRW and The Current. It landed them coveted performances on Daytrotter.com and Bob Harris' popular BBC show, winning them new fans across North America and Europe. A great live act whether performing as a stripped-down trio (David Huckfelt, Benson Ramsey and Alex Ramsey) or as a full rock band, The Pines' devoted cult following and has led them to share the stage with such diverse acts as Bon Iver, Mavis Staples, The Arcade Fire, Iris DeMent, Mason Jennings and Spider John Koerner. The Pines just finished a North American tour with Mason Jennings in twenty-five cities, opening for him and playing in his band.

An Evening with Unknown Hinson

November 8th is the rescheduled date for the Unknown Hinson canceled date of July 28th. All tickets for the July 28th show are transferable to the November 8th show. Please direct all inquiries to Mei Verba at mei@jamminjava.com only. The Jammin' Java phone number is not a good way to get your questions answered.

Looking somewhat like Dracula's nasty little brother who spent some hard years drinking and working as a carnival barker for a second-rate freak show, Unknown Hinson translates that vibe to his style of country and western-tinged psychobilly. The band is now touring nationwide, wowing audiences with outrageous and campy, white-trash persona and freewheeling, sleazy tone. Hinson’s most CD , "Live and Undead", melds weepy twang, searing guitar riffs and lyrics that speak of love-gone-bad. Recorded at a sold-out show, an enthusiastic honky tonk crowd sings along with the King on every song. Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn’t just for the trailer park set anymore! Unknown's latest CD "Reloaded" was released on 6/26/12 after a national tour in May/June of 2012. Unknown Hinson's CD's are on Uniphone Records, Hinsongs Publishing, BMI artist rights organization.

Unknown is gaining notoriety in the 18-34 demographic as the voice of lead character "Early Cuyler" in the popular show from Cartoon Network – "The Squidbillies". The first four seasons were so well-received that an immediate green light was given to future seasons.

He's toured with Hank3, Rev. Horton Heat, the Boxmasters and Willie Nelson. Appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and other syndicated programming round out the list. Hinson seems to collect quite a few celebrity fans. Billy Bob Thornton names Unknown as "one of my favorite songwriters and a genius picker". Matt Groening (creator of The Simpsons) labels Unknown as a "guitar maniac (and funny as hell to boot!)" Hank3 has Unknown's face tattooed on his bicep! Unknown was asked to join The Rolling Stones for sound check at their last show in Charlotte, NC. You must witness the encounter with Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd) in Nashville (www.youtube.com/Unknown Hinson, Ed King). You'll find Unknown Hinson's music everywhere from Snoop Dogg's movie "LA Spectacular" to the newest version of the action-adventure open world video game "Saints Row 3".

Rockabilly Magazine named Unknown Hinson as their "Find of the Year" www.rockabillymagazine.com

Griffin House

Although Springfield Ohio native Griffin House didn't begin playing guitar and writing songs until he was 18, the power of his music struck an emotional connection with audiences immediately. The athletic gifted House shocked his family by turning down a golf scholarship to focus on a new like making music. After graduating, he joined some of his buddies who'd moved to Nashville, and started doing solo gigs at the bottoms of bills in local clubs. Within months, he was headlining, surprising himself at his rapid development.

House signed with Nettwerk and banged out his first CD with his band in five days, before moving from Nashville to Cincinnati. He spent most of the subsequent three years on the road, while also finding time to record several "direct-to-fan" releases, a pair of EPs (House of David Vol. 1 & 2) and the 2006 digital release Homecoming. His intelligent and heart-felt lyrics and melodies in such songs as "The Guy Who Says Goodbye to You Is Out of His Mind" and "Better Than Love" have garnered commercial and critical acclaim alike. From being featured on the CBS Sunday Morning Show, to touring with the likes of John Mellencamp and the Cranberries, House continues to gain national recognition and is currently is headlining his own tour across the U.S.

CALLAGHAN
Born in Boston, Lincolnshire to a musical family, Callaghan was classically trained on flute from age 6, then gravitated toward singing and playing piano. By 14 she was writing songs, and started trekking to London to record with various producers. At 18 Callaghan relocated to London permanently to live with her sister (whose flat was so tiny, the singer slept under the kitchen table), while recording a number of independent EPs and playing all over the city, at spots like the Bedford, Regal Room, Royal National Theatre, and 100 Club. A long-time Mullins fan, Callaghan contacted him in 2009 through MySpace while seeking a producer, and he agreed to a rare collaboration. An initial recording trip to Atlanta yielded three songs, prompting her life-changing relocation there in 2010 to finish the full-length. Since landing stateside, Callaghan has toured extensively throughout the U.S., especially alongside Mullins, and regularly sells out shows in her new home town of Atlanta. Now that Life In Full Colour is ready for its full release, further touring is planned in support. This year promises to pick up right where 2011 left off, but where the singer's compelling story goes from here is all part of the adventure. For now, Callaghan will focus on sharing her latest creation with listeners, wherever they may be.

The Rocket Summer

Texas native Bryce Avary, the singer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist/ producer mastermind behind The Rocket Summer, has accomplished enough for someone a lot older. Since launching his career as a 16-year-old with the independently released The Rocket Summer EP, a name he took from a Ray Bradbury short story, Bryce has toured around the world, selling out venues not just in the US, but Canada, the UK, Australia, and Japan, while playing such noted events as UK's Glastonbury Festival, Scotland's T in the Park, Japan's Summer Sonic Festival, Australia's Soundwave Festival, Austin City Limits, SXSW, Bamboozle, Cornerstone and the 2007 and 2010 Vans Warped Tour. Of Men and Angels was released in February 2010, and debuted as the No.1 Album on iTunes surpassing The Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D., which had previously held the No.1 spot for Top Album. This is just one instance of how Avary's loyal hardcore fan base has supported The Rocket Summer throughout the years. This also explains the kind of viral following that turned the video for "Do You Feel" into an Internet phenomenon. With guest appearances by Paramore, Relient K, All Time Low Jack's Mannequin, Forever the Sickest Kids, MxPx, Hellogoodbye, the music video led to the album version of the song being played more than 4 million times on The Rocket Summer's My Space site. The album Do You Feel hit #44 on the Billboard 200 and #16 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums charts and has sold over 100,000 copies alone. His albums and live shows are all about positivity, optimism, sing-a-longs, excitement, and overcoming our struggles.?The Rocket Summer has toured with The Goo Goo Dolls, OneRepublic, Paramore, Relient K, Jimmy Eat World, The All-American Rejects, Copeland, All Time Low, The Ataris, Something Corporate, Plain White T's, Hellogoodbye, Phantom Planet & many others.

WILLIAM BECKETT
"It all started at age 17 with a blue minivan and unopened university letters. I packed up my dad's 'burb buggy with 2 guitars, a barstool and a tub of t-shirts and CDs and set off for the east coast. I played any and every show that would have me. drove through blizzards and listened to way too much John Mayer and Bright Eyes. I fell in love. I came home and started a band called The Academy Is… I wrote a record about following my dreams and breaking out for good. We did, and I never slowed down. 7 years, 3 albums, over a half a million records sold on top of countless shows played for thousands and thousands of people around the world including a dozen tours in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, Germany, Belgium, and Chile, my band went as far and as fast as any of us dreamt. We performed on Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien, and Carson Daly. Over time, lives and minds changed, and something was missing. I was in a band veiled in secrecy and politics. I broke it up and started over. I spent the past year and a half writing constantly, churning out the best work of my career. "These are hit songs. It's your turn. You are a superstar," I was told. Just after the New Year, I was inexplicably let go from the label. I took my all of my songs and my vision and hit the ground running. I surrounded myself with a whole new team. It's time to walk the talk. It's all about good, honest music, and lots of it. It's all about fearlessness and new ideas. It's all about playing shows for the best fans in the world and making new ones. It's all about being true to who I am and what I stand for, especially when I don't seem to "fit in." I'm not interested in being anyone other than myself. The next chapter started with the debut solo EP release "Walk the Talk," followed by much more music to come as 2012 unfolds."

The Milk Carton Kids

The Milk Carton Kids, a harmonizing, minimalist duo, use two guitars and two voices to create a new combination of back-porch Americana and classic folk. Relying on compelling narrative, the seamless interplay between their 1950?s acoustics, well-constructed harmony lines which play more like counterpoint melodies, and their natural stage chemistry, TMCK have drawn in and excited sold out crowds across North America since their formation in early 2011. The serendipitous meeting between the two (Kenneth Pattengale & Joey Ryan) led quickly to a shelving of the solo careers each had been pursuing. While neither had been compelled to such collaboration with any of his peers before, an effortless musical complement, fast personal fondness, and like-minded view toward how to present the collaboration to their fans influenced the duo's formation and, almost immediately, began drawing praise from varied sources. While press has indeed been kind to the duo, their spirit of independence compelled them to release their first two albums on their own label directly to their fans for free.

Trixie Whitley

Each advance  ticket purchased receives a FREE digital download of Taylor Berrett’s never released “WinterCoat”.

Born into a family with deep artistic roots, Trixie Whitley grew up immersed in music, dance, and the visual arts.  As a teenager, she toured with one of Europe’s most prominent dance companies, while finding time to spin her unique mixes at parties and ravves throughout the continent as Europe’s youngest female DJ.  She began playing drums at 11, later picking up guitar and piano, and her voice and arrtwork graced several recordings of her late father, the legendary Chris Whitley.  As her musical presence began growing, she was chosen in 2009 by renowned producer/musician Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Brian Eno) to join his “supergroup” Black Dub. Throughout 2010 and 2011, Trixie traveled the word performing with Black Dub.

In early 2012, Trixie recorded her first full-length solo debute record with musician/producer Thomas Bartlett (Antony & the Johnsons, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, the National, Grizzly Bear) and engineer Pat Dilett (David Byrne, Lou Reed, Mary J Blige). The album will be released early in 2013.

TAYLOR BERRETT
Taylor Berrett is a singer-songwriter based out of Northern Virginia who has recently signed with SRP, the production company that discovered and signed Rihanna. He is most influenced by the great artists whose focus was always fixed on carefully crafted songs, especially Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, and the Elton John/Bernie Taupin team, and more recently Chris Martin of Coldplay. Berrett's music can be described as a wide-ranging blend of introspective acoustic folk to soul-and-R&B influenced grooves to sunny-tinted uptempo pop. Like the classic artists he strives to emulate, Berrett is always in pursuit of a great song regardless of genre or style. And his lack of strict stylistic guidelines is the audience's gain, as a typical performance is an ever-changing musical ride from start to finish.

"I haven't heard harmonies this tight since Simon & Garfunkel" (Gene Dawson, Dawson Concerts) Their work has earned them 40 WAMMIE nominations and 12 WAMMIE awards (Washington Area Music Awards) between them, including the WAMMIE award for BEST CONTEMPORARY FOLK GROUP (three times). Both approach their writing from a lyrical, melodic place with songs that speak to the heart. The wit and depth each adds to the other's songs makes for an engaging show. "Cletus and Lori are two standout solo performers whose voices blend beautifully." (Scott Moore, Moore House Concerts) As solo artists, and again as a duo, both Cletus & Lori were selected to perform at D.C.'s Kennedy Center.

Tony Lucca (full band!)

Tony Lucca captured America's hearts this year as the Team Adam finalist on NBC's hit TV show "The Voice." Additionally, Lucca's duet of "Yesterday" by The Beatles with coach Adam Levine (Maroon 5) landed Top 5 o n iTunes Overall and Pop Singles sales charts. In 2011, Tony Lucca appeared as himself on NBC's "Parenthood" performing his song "Like Love." Lucca was also tapped to appear in friend Justin Timberlake's 901 tequila commercial spot. His songs have been featured on TV's "Friday Night Lights," "Brothers & Sisters," "Shark," and "Felicity" and in Kevin Costner's feature "Open Range." He has been seen on E! Entertainment Television and A&E, and performed numerous times on NBC's "Last Call With Carson Daly." MATT DUKE
Duke's impressionistic lyrics – delivered in a pure tenor that cuts straight to the bone — shine bright, particularly throughout the edgy "Kangaroo Court" and on the guitar-driven "Needle and Thread," in which Duke assumes the role of the troubadour yearning to find "open arms at the bar for the prodigal son that often goes astray." Such quests make up the heart and soul of One Day Die – an album which finds Duke asking questions of himself and which grabs listeners by the lapels and shakes them into a similar frame of mind. Duke has been to a lot of places since he began his musical career. Writing and performing around South Jersey and Philadelphia while in high school helped him win the respect of soon-to-be-collaborators like Marshall Crenshaw, Suzzy Roche and Dylan sidemanDavid Mansfield.
