Windward Announces Labor Day Programming Languages Extravaganza

Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) August 31, 2012

Learning to speak another language isn’t always easy. That’s why enterprise software giant Windward has announced it will take the labor out of reporting, document generation and business intelligence by allowing users to configure its application to work in virtually any programming language. The new Enterprise Reporting Programming Languages page introduces businesses to reporting in a wide range of languages, from C# reporting to Python reporting to Ruby reporting and more.

“Labor Day is when we celebrate our nation’s productivity, and programmers are most productive when they can work in the language they’re most comfortable with,” said Annette Grotz, marketing manager at Windward. “Our language flexibility means developers can use their expertise while saving themselves and their employers significant time.”

Windward started out with Java reporting Engine and soon added a .NET reporting Engine, and the company has now introduced a number of wrappers that allow users to program in other languages. For example, Python and PHP wrappers exist for the Java Engine, and C++, C# and Visual Basic wrappers are in place for the .NET Engine. Windward also offers Javelin, a platform-agnostic scheduling and report server for programming in nearly any language desired, including Ruby and Python.

That flexibility is a hit at Windward, where an informal poll of an internal development team revealed a variety of favorite programming languages. Some programmers touted the open-source benefits of Java, while others said Ruby was the most practical or C#’s design made it the perfect reporting language.
