Do you have or need a website? Now, it’s time to make it the next internet sensation. Whether you want to be a WordPress pro or just need to get the hang of the basics, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve got you covered from sign up to custom design to publishing your first post —and then some.What will I learn?
In this course, you'll learn how to install WordPress and configure it for SEO, install and customize a theme, create an e-commerce website, and publish your images and posts with the open-source WordPress content management system.What can I expect?
Each 2.5 hour session is a mixture of Lecture and hands-on Exercises to best teach you the fundamentals of WordPress. Hands-on practice is essential to understand and fully grasp the concepts presented. The class is limited to 14 students.
Class 1: Lecture: Get Started
Exercises: The Dashboard; Using the 2013 Default Theme; Explaining & Creating a New Post; Edit an Existing Post; Using Categories and Tags
Class 2: Lecture: Get Comfy
Exercises: Create and Editing Pages; Add Photos and Images; How to Embed Video; Using the Media Library; Managing Comments; How to Create a Link
Class 3: Lecture: Get Personality
Exercises: Changing the Theme; Adding Widgets; Building Custom Menus; Installing Plugins; Adding New Users
Class 4: Lecture: Get Configured
Exercises: Useful Tools; Configuration Settings; Publish Your Site
In addition to class, as a CODEcamp student you get:
