WordSouth to Host 2014 StoryConnect Conference Sept. 15 – 17 in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Rainsville, Alabama (PRWEB) June 16, 2014

Telecommunications and electric companies that serve small towns and rural areas face unique communications challenges. These companies will find fresh ideas and inspiration for telling their stories at the 2014 StoryConnect Conference. Hosted by WordSouth A Content Marketing Company, the conference is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15 through Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We have an exciting lineup of presenters scheduled for StoryConnect, says Stephen V. Smith, founder and president of WordSouth. This is an opportunity for rural telecommunications companies and electric utilities to learn more about using the power of storytelling to engage with their customers and market their services.

StoryConnect will feature speakers who work in the utilities industry, as well as communicators from other fields.

The conference is designed for marketing, public relations, communications and even management professionals from telecommunications cooperatives, electric cooperatives, independent phone companies and municipal electric departments.

Topics scheduled for StoryConnect include: how social media can turn customers into advocates; why a rich history is a great foundation for telling stories and advancing your brand; how advances in printing technology are bringing new ideas to point-of-sale material; and ideas for marketing cutting-edge services.

Attendees will hear from Chattanooga EPB, the municipal electric company that became the first utility in America to offer gigabit Internet service. Tom Piersant, founder and CEO of Chattanooga Whiskey, will discuss how the company used social media to build an audience and ultimately change state law. A panel of telecommunications and electric professionals will discuss how their companies are taking their content beyond the printed page and repurposing their message through channels such as TV, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and more.

The conference will take place at The Chattanoogan, an award-winning hotel in the citys downtown. A highlight of the conference will be a dinner and networking event at the Tennessee Aquarium, which will include a tour of the facilitys River Journey.
